We would like to export RAW files in their original RAW format AND retain their color correction and stars labels. We would then like to import these exported RAW + XMP files into other Lightroom Catalogs. Sometimes when we do this, however, the color correction and stars ratings from the last catalog are not visible.

Preforming basic color correction in the develop module. Often I see an image is just a little Cyan or Red, how do you correct. The only controls are blue/yellow or magenta/green.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to export a bunch of photos that I have tweaked the color on and a few other settings. Lowered saturation, sharpened, etc...
When I put the lightroom and the jpg in any other viewer side by side, the export looks like the original before it was tweaked. Too much red, too much saturation. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have tried exporting a single image as well as a bunch and no different. In Lightroonm, they look amazing. Exported, they don't.
I am noticing some issues in Lightroom 4.3. How to have picks and ratings appear in the filmstrip. I have this selected in Preferences and previously was able to see picks and ratings.
I am unable to move the photo within the crop (I don't see the "hand".)
I use a iMac to capture and tag photos as finalist. I then transfer the folder to another machine for editing. When I add the images into the editing machines lightroom, all the tags, ratings, stars, colors don't show up.
When I was on Lr3 on both machines, these tags transferred. Even when a client used Bridge, they showed up. Now, not so much.

I recently copied all Lightroom folders/catalog /etc to a larger hard drive. Upon opening Lightroom for the first time since the move, almost all of the edits made in Photoshop and/or 3rd Party programs are gone and with them the ratings for those photos. Where are these photos/ratings stored and are they retrievable. Again, I copied ALL folders and catalog to the new drive.

Under View Options, Show Ratings and Picks is checked. The photos definitely have ratings and filtering by ratings is working. Perhaps I accidentally turned something off. how to make them visible again?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen exporting a photo, does Lightroom convert to a profile or assign a profile? Because there is no way to choose. I tried to export a photo with 3 different color spaces (sRGB, AdobeRGB and ICC profile from laboratory where I print my photos). After exporting them to JPEG it turned out that all of them look differently on my monitor - does it mean that Lightroom assigns a profile? If it was converting, shouldn't they have the same colours? What is more, after printing them in laboratory, results were completely different than I expected - the photo which had closest colours to what I saw in Lightroom was that in sRGB, but that with ICC of Lab was very different (much colder colours).
Where is the problem, or what aspect do I seem to misunderstand? Do I have wrong settings, should I use DNG to work with photos, should I export to TIFF, or I just have too weak monitor or wrongly calibrated one? Should I calibrate when viewing a picture in Lightroom or with the use of a photo exported to the ICC profile of Lab?
I would like to have a little bit of control over what I'm working on, depending on whether I want to publish it on a website or print. I know that my monitor can be a problem (I have an iiyama with IPS), but surely there has to be any way to make results of my work a bit closer to my expectations.
Just for information, my workflow doesn't require Photoshop, as I rather prefer to use only tools from Lightroom. I hope that my problem doesn't require the use of Photoshop.
On opening Lightroom 4.1 it appears to have reverted back to how it was a few months and so I lost all of the images I was working on. On reimporting them back into Lightroom, this was performed quickly as if perhaps they were remembered, however all ratings and edits remained lost. Do you know if it is possible to recover these?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use my Ligthroom 3 for over 2 yeasr now and I had never such problem before. During exportin my pictures to HD I loose saturaion for orange. Whatever format I use problem remains the same. Both my monitors I use are calibrated so there is no colors distortion, especialy that it happen to orange only.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just spent 30+ hours editing a set of 123 wedding photos in RAW file format. When I export to JPEG, the colors change on just about every photo. I understand that if I would have correctly set up the camer calibration prior to editing, this would have possibly solved my problem. However, the photos are already edited. When I export the files in TIFF, they look fine. It's just the JPEG file format that changes the look of my images. I'm using Lightroom 2.3. My last brainstorm involved importing the already edited TIFF files and then trying to export those into JPEG, the color format was still off.

I tried to export them to an external hard drive, so I could free up space on my computer, but I discovered that copies of those photos already existed on the external HD. I selected the "overwrite" option, but the ratings and keywords didn't copy over from the computer versions to the hard drive versions. Is there a way of doing that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am taking pictures of art and would like to correct the photos so that the colors are accurate. Need to use some kind of color swatch in each picture? I would like to include the color swatch strip in the edge of each picture so that I can correct the colors more easily and then crop the color swatch out. What kind of colors do I need in the color swatch? Also, would it be useful to have black/white/50% grey in the strip to work with leveling? I am going to correct the leveling and try to remove the color cast.
I also have to photograph things which are very shiny (e.g. coated in shellac). How to use an external flash to minimize flash glare?
1. I have a number of folders where the photo's where stored on my Mac HD. I then moved these folders to a new location on an external HD. I re-imported these folders into Lightroom and they showed up under the external HD. However, all of the colour coding/ratings and even the adustments I have made to the images are not visibible. Is there a way I can correct this?
2. I've also imported a number of folders to Lightroom that were originally colour coded/rated in Bridge and edited in Adobe Camera RAW. Again the edits that I made to these and the ratings info is not visible. Is there a way I can change this?
3. Is there a way to search for duplicates within a particular folder or within the whole library?
When i use lightroom on 2 monitors i look mostly at the loupe view on the second monitor to judge or cull my pictures. I can see the resultant stars, colors and reject flags on the grid view on the primary monitor. but i cant see the ratings on the loupe view. I sometimes get confused as to whether i actually rated or color coded a particular photo in a similar series, but i have to look back at the primary monitor to make sure. Am I missing something? Is there some way to have a large view of the picture but include rating info on the same screen?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter I've exported through LR 3 I am getting different tone qualities only with two different image viewing windows. The picture attached shows the example of the image on the left opened with Windows Photo Viewer is brighter red tie and bluer suit while the one on the right is opened with Microsoft Photo Editor is more darker red and purple suit. The one on the left is the correct image.
This is also happening when the photo is sent through an inventory management system we have. I am exporting with 600 x 1200 jpeg resize 72 dpi at sRGB, 100 quality, and jPeg mode in File settings.
Since starting to use LR in 2009, I've been making separate catalogues for every 6 months worth of photos. I've now decided to consolidate all my photos in a single catalog, but the process is taking forever, even though I'm not moving the photos, just importing edits/previews/ratings/collection etc.. How to speed things up.BTW, all of my catalogs have been converted to LR4 format.

View 10 Replies View Relatedwhen you move it to PS he has you use the curves panel to color correct. Of course that entails using the black eye dropper and clicking on the blackest/darkest area of the photo, similar for the white dropper, and after a nice little trick to find the right spot......... an area for the midtone dropper.
The thing is I've noticed that once I make that first click with the black dropper, that nice contrast I had from ACR adjustments goes out the window and the photo brightens up a lot. The final steps of putting 3 points on the curve and dropping the blacks end and raising the whites end brings it back a bit but I was thinking isn't setting the WB with the dropper in ACR already color correcting?
Even at the end of the book when he goes through his actual workflow using a provided .dng example he does all the ACR stuff and then moves to PS and uses the curves panel.
I want to display photos shot as JPG from a DSLR on a TV. When played on the TV they seem dark and lots of detail gets lost. How to make my images look good on a LCD TV? I am pretty new to Photoshop, would I just play with the Levels?
