When in Lightroom 4 and i want to edit in photoshop essentials, LR always creates and saves a psd file before opening Essentials. How can I stop this happening because it is a nuisance. For example if I am editing 4 files in PS I dont want LR to create these additional files at all. I am using a PC

It seems impossible to add photos after installing Maverick without starting over from scratch.
When I edit a photo in Photoshop from Lightroom 4 and save it back to Lightroom, the photo ends up somewhere else in the folder than it's original location. This is a hassle as my folders can have hundreds of photos. Is there a setting that will place the file back to where it came from?

Now I'm unable to open .tga files I created/saved in PSE 7.
I have an old document from an installation that no longer exists.It has a background gradiant created using the gradient tool and I clearly modified that and in all probability saved it as a preset.
However I now need to edit it, how do you edit gradiants created using the tool? Or should I have used a mask and blending to retain editability.
When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.

I want to know how to open a dwg file that has been saved as a pdf file format so i can edit it.
Why do people save it to a pdf anyway? Doesn't that degrade the quality of the drawing?
I have a lot of clients that send me there drawing but i constantly have to tell them that they have to send the original form if they want it to be edited. Most of the time I have to use a converter to to convert it to a dwg file but the quality degrades drastically. I can’t believe in 2013 I’m still having problems with this.
I’ve tried Any PDF to DWG Converter but it doesn’t convert it very well.
I have the "Edit dimension when created" option unchecked in my application settings but it still does it anyway. How do I fix it?

Last night I purchased and downloaded New Blue Video Essentials IV (Merry Christmas to me!). Installation seemingly went without a hitch. All the new New Blue vft files are in the vft folder. However, in both VS X3 and v10, nowhere do my new filters appear in the FX lists. No Video Essentials IV directory was created, they are not in All, they are not in any of the others.
My receipt states "Registration Information: Serial Number: 12345678910. For those familiar with purchasing New Blue FX, does this need to be registered before it can be used? If so, how do you do it, as I was never prompted to do so?
Have a JVC HD Memory Camera GZ-E10. Filled up the SD card and I wanted to upload to the computer. I tried to upload directly to computer and then realized it wouldn't work without VideoStudio Essentials X3. I loaded it and when I tried to upload I get the "either no video capture driver is installed in this system, or no device is connected."

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Inventor 2013 for a few weeks now and for the life of me I can not work out how to turn off the automatic "Edit dimension when created" .
I do know that there are "Edit dimension when created" checkboxes in both the Edit Dimension window and under Application Options. But everytime I restart Inventor, the program seems to forget that particular custom setting and always switches "Edit dimension when created" back on. So that on the first dimension I create, the Edit Dimension window pops up.
For additional info Inventor remembers many of the other custom settings (e.g. compact tool bar, active button on the Quick Access Toolbar, etc...)

Quite simply, three seconds after double clicking the program icon, I get this. I'm on the second installation. Patches won't install. I get the message " product that needs to be updated not found" or something similar.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
I removed color info and reset to greyscale, yet I still get a pink hue when I save as a pdf.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a small business doing canvas stretch pictures. A client of mine has asked me to do a collage of 27 photos and I used Shape Collage to do so. She wanted a collage with all the photos in a regulated format. That is Avg.Angle zero degrees, Max. Angle zero degrees, Offset X zero and Offset Y zero. After creating the collage I saved it as a PSd file. So Far So good. I then opened Gimp 2.8.4 and was quite confused as the latest program appearance is nothing like the tutorials and images on the net. However I was able to open the image of the collage by importing the psd file. I was also able to edit the photos and reposition them according to her wishes. I then saved the file as a psd. She wanted to see a jpeg copy of the collage as she does not have photoshop on her pc. In order to show her I had to flatten the psd and then save it in photoshop to a jpeg format. She now wants me to add one more photo to the existing collage.
How can I do that from the flattened psd?
As part of my workflow I import through Lightroom, then edit into Photoshop. This creates file 1 & 2 of 2 in my Lightroom. After editing all of the selected pictures into PSD files I routinely provide clients with smaller JPG's. I do this by opening the PSD flattening, shrinking, sharpening and "save as" into JPG's.
This does not create a third file in Lightroom and when I go to import the new JPG's Lightroom does not see them. I can open a Finder window ( I use a MAC) and see the files, but cannot get Lightroom to see them to import, then export to other media.
I purchased Photoshop Elements 11 and Lightroom 4 to use together.However, I used both together in trial versions and did not have this problem.
When I start in Lightroom with an image, then take it to Photoshop to do some work with liquify, save it, return to Lightroom... Lightroom is not acknowledging the new changes made in Photoshop. When I ran the trial versions, they did. How do I get that feature to work again, is there a setting I'm missing?
Suddenly the images I edit in photoshop (and then save) are appearing at the end of the folder rather than right after the original image as I much prefer.
