AutoCAD Architecture :: Can't Edit Position Z When Created 3D Object Via Extrusion
Mar 1, 2012For some reason I can't edit the "Position Z" when I created a 3D object via extrusion. How can I do this?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Edit Extrusion - Ok Button Greyed Out
Oct 15, 2012Whenever I edit an Extrude 'cut' feature,(eg: To Add or remove a profile), the OK button is greyed out and no matter what I do, I can't get it back.
The only way to edit the extrusion is to:
Shift EOP
Delete the extrusion
Recreate the extrusion.
Shift EOP
fix errors if any.

Oct 9, 2013After creating an extrusion, we selected the object sometime later, but are not able to edit the vanishing point coordinates for the extruded object. Is there a reason we cannot edit this object?
Vanishing point coordinate boxes, on toolbar, are grayed and unavailable.
Anchor for vanishing point on drawing screen is an outline and unavailable.
Object is marked as editable, so editing is not blocked.
Selecting the original text or extruded subgroup object makes no difference.
Extrusion gradient colors are not showing on the extrusion walls.
Have varied the 'Extrusion Type', but the types are hard to discern and don't make a difference in the editability of the object.

Aug 23, 2011We have just started to use Autocad Architecture 2012 however when we add an xref we get a location insertion position error.
The original drawing xref is created at 0,0,0 and the drawing we are referencing into is also created with the same points. If we paste a point from 0,0,0 to the original co-ordinates it looks fine. However when we add the xref to another file the xref seems to come in at insertion point x 70484.84995973 and insertion point y 16146.53159634
Is there any way of sorting this out as we would like to use 0,0,0 as the xref insertion point?

Apr 7, 2011Am using the "pre-defined" walls in Autocad Architecture 2010, with equally pre-defined windows.
I have found where to change ("Edit window style") virtually every parameter of the window, e.g. frame and sash depths.
However - I can not find a way to change the position of the the glass in the window relative to the interior/exterior of the wall. (see attached image for clarification)
I hope I am making myself understood - the glass could for example (assuming the depth of the frame is the same as that of the wall it sits in) be located 40mm from the exterior of the wall - or 10mm.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Schedule Tag Is Created At Wrong Scale
Dec 21, 2013I'm using ACA2013. I've been working on making a couple of custom schedule tags and have found what seems to be a bit of a glitch. I have the annotative scale set to 1'-0"=1'-0". Once I have the desired linework and attributes created, I have used the 'create tag wizard'. Once that is finished, the tag is inserted at a much smaller size than the linework I used - 1/10.6666. If I scale the linework and attribute text size by 10-2/3 prior to using the 'wizard' then the tag is created the correct size. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly or is that a glitch in ACA2013?

Aug 14, 2012I have been using Inventor 2013 for a few weeks now and for the life of me I can not work out how to turn off the automatic "Edit dimension when created" .
I do know that there are "Edit dimension when created" checkboxes in both the Edit Dimension window and under Application Options. But everytime I restart Inventor, the program seems to forget that particular custom setting and always switches "Edit dimension when created" back on. So that on the first dimension I create, the Edit Dimension window pops up.
For additional info Inventor remembers many of the other custom settings (e.g. compact tool bar, active button on the Quick Access Toolbar, etc...)

Dec 20, 2011I have a 2D plan and a 3D plan. The data is essentially the same on both, the only difference being that the 2D plan has several hundred points on it (all at elevation/z coordinate of 0, of which can easily be copied to the 3D plan).
I want to move those 2D points to their respective 3D positions. I.e. if point X is at coordinates 15213.321, 51646.632, 0 I would like to search in the Z direction above (or below; although in this data set it would always be above) for any object (line, polyline, 3dpolyline or an arc only I think) that crosses or is on this coordinate and then move the point (or place a new point) to that z coordinate. So if there is a line whose z value is 895.265 at coordinate 15213.321, 51646.632, then the point (that was originally 2D) would become 15213.321, 51646.632, 895.265.
Any lisp or other method in AutoCad that could accomplish this (ideally without having to select each point individually)? Surely this must have come up a few times before although I'm not too sure what search words to be using to look for info.

Aug 13, 2012I work with a national company that creates criteria drawings for new projects. They recently changed to the 2012 version but they save it down to 2007. There has not been an issue with opening files with my 2009 version until recently. All of the computers in our office are unable to open these new files, although they claim nothing has changed. My CAD will pop up a fatal error and shut down whenever I attempt to open the new files. I downloaded the 2013 trial version and saved the file down to the older version, but that does not work either. Newer versions do not seem to be affected by the files, just my 2009 version. I tried creating a new file in 2013 and saved down to 2007 format. When I try to open it 2009 there is no issue. besides purchasing a new version of AutoCAD?

But to begin with my model is assembled so i have exploded it and now I want to put it back together - however I can't get the program to remember the position each component was originally in so when i try and move each component back it's all over the place and looks awful. Is there a way to mark an object's intial location so that i can move it back to exactly that place?

Mar 22, 2011I'm currently going over the Metric tutorial for ACA 2009. At some point, I'm instructed to right-click the tool palette title bar to select the "project-specific" palette (which should be located among the Design, Visalization, etc palettes). Well, this palette is not there.
I´ve checked the project properties and verified that Project Tool Palette Group is set to Shared workspace catalog. The paths are correct (I'm using Windows 7 x64), etc. When I open antoher tutorial project (Steel Framed Residence_m) the project tool palette is there, but when I create any new project or use the one in the tut, this group/palette is not created.
The profile used to create the project is the default:
