View 4 RepliesHaving a time getting ribs to align 2m below top of ridge beam, and connect to curved wall below. I created one, then arrayed, but the radius changes at each 2.5 degree interval. I don't think I should have to calculate the % radius change to get the beams to do this. Some constraint button maybe?
Not sure if editing a wall profile is the best way to model this, but it's working.
I need to trim the section outlined in red, how do I go about doing that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have drawn a rectangular double curved roof (hyperbolic paraboloid). Did that just by adjusting shape handles up and down in diagonally opposite corners.
I want to draw a grid on it mostly as a graphical thing, so its shape is evident. Have tried model lines which won't attach even when grouped.
I need to make a roof on a curved building. But when I try with Roof by Footprint it just brings up the error "Can't make footprint roof."

View 5 Replies View RelatedHave created a roof with a gable on each end. Edit roof footprint to change the two gable end roof slopes to a hip roof. When I finish the edit, I get a "Can't keep wall & target joined" error message...which affect all sides of the roof. I have done this many times before without ever getting this error message.
The roof being edited is on the two-story portion. There is a gable roof on a lower level on one side.
For a very long time I have missed to able to edit profile on a curved wall. It seems so basic and yet it has not been possible. So I was very pleased when it was pronounced that this basic option was finally possible in Revit 2012. Alas it is not. I am so very dissapointed because this is a basic feature wich should have been fixed years ago.
Any simple method to edit profile on a curved wall without having to attach wall top and buttom to invisible layers of floors and roofs ect.
I am currently working on a home where i need to have a single slanted roof go across the perimeter of the home to form a roof. But, i have run into the issue of not being able to connect the circled area(see attached) Is it possible to connect those separate roofs and if so how?

The tools I know are for straight walls, not curved. and the Opening/wall makes a squared opening, not curved.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter creating an extrusion, we selected the object sometime later, but are not able to edit the vanishing point coordinates for the extruded object. Is there a reason we cannot edit this object?
Vanishing point coordinate boxes, on toolbar, are grayed and unavailable.
Anchor for vanishing point on drawing screen is an outline and unavailable.
Object is marked as editable, so editing is not blocked.
Selecting the original text or extruded subgroup object makes no difference.
Extrusion gradient colors are not showing on the extrusion walls.
Have varied the 'Extrusion Type', but the types are hard to discern and don't make a difference in the editability of the object.
I've just extruded a face. I realize I need make a slight adjustment. I don't want to undo the extrudtion nor do I want do an Edit Mesh to create a new extrusion. Is there an easy way to readjust an extrudtion?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I edit an Extrude 'cut' feature,(eg: To Add or remove a profile), the OK button is greyed out and no matter what I do, I can't get it back.
The only way to edit the extrusion is to:
Shift EOP
Delete the extrusion
Recreate the extrusion.
Shift EOP
fix errors if any.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a simple 8x2 extrusion that will represent an aluminum band on a building elevation. The length varies by instance but needs to be reportable in a schedule (preferably using the "Length" shared parameter name.
I've never used reporting parameters before but have made an attempt at it in the attached file. The parameter of Length displays the stretched length in the properties box but won't appear in a schedule. The Instance Length parameter will appear in a schedule but doesn't always show the correct value.
I'll note that this family was adapted from one already created by someone else and the Length label cannot be deleted. It's as if the file was at one time a template. However, I've tried it from scratch, too and can't get it to work, sometimes not even being able to get the family to allow stretching the length.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a Family Category that allows me to create an Extrusion that will then work with the “Attach Top/Base” tool?
For example, instead of using a structural column, I would instead like to use a Model In-Place Extrusion, then be able to attach these columns to my roof.
I’m noticing you don’t get the option to “Attach Top/Base” when you use a Model In-Place Extrusion.
What would be possible reason for a void not having any effect on cutting an object? I created a parametric void. Then I created an object. No change to the object. If I create an object then a void, it seems to work.

I am currently doing an MEP project and I am tidying up the model at present. I am having problems attaching the walls to the roofs. There could be a simple solution but I haven't found it yet !
I have tried attaching top base etc. but its not working. I only seem to be able to select one side of the roof when selecting where to attach the walls. I have attached 3d pics showing the walls that are extruding & also one of the walls that I am trying to attach.
