View 1 RepliesSInce upgrading from LR4 to LR5 I can no longer create a new folder in the 'destination' section of the import pane and import new images into it.
If I right-click, for example, the desktop in the 'destination' area and select 'create new folder' I can create the folder, but it doesn't then show when I return to LR for the import. I have to have already created to folder outside of LR before the import for it to show as a viable location to import to.
I am having an issue with trying to get and xref or multiple xrefs attached/overlayed in a drawing that I just create.
I have a command that will create a sheet set, then add sheets in that sheet set based on a number the user puts in.
I then ask the user if they want to add xrefs to the drawings, if they press yes, I want to have the dwgs that are selected by the user to be referenced into the newly created dwgs.
I believe I am mising making the dwg that is created the active dwg before adding the xrefs, but I may also be missing locking the dwg. At the moment I have it set to open the dwg after it is created then attempting to add the xrefs to it.
'Starts the process of adding sheets based on the number specified
For i As Integer = 1 To info.TotalSheetNum.Value
'shows dialog box for sheet information to user
sheetinfo.ShowDialog()
'adds the sheet to the sheet set

I spent a bit of time creating a brush style to simulate a rope. Artwork was created, dragged and dropped into brushes pallet, set as pattern brush. In the AI file in which the brush was created, it is visible and available as a brush when "Show pattern brushes" is checked. However, in other AI files I cannot find this brush! I have closed all files and closed AI, reopened and still nothing.

Is there any way through which we can get the art handle of a newly created art, just after its creation on the document?

I'm using a Wacom intuos 2 and working up some illustrations, but whenever I create a new layer, the brush tool goes completely defunct and makes absolutely no marks on the document. I have gotten in the habit of just restarting Photoshop, and then it works.

How do I control the draworder of the items in the block?
Is there a way to set the order before I create the block, OR do I have to modify the block after I have created it?
I'm having a bit of a problem struggling with creating new dimension style using vee bee dot net, in AutoCAD 2010 environment. I am particularly trying to figure out how to set the newly created dimension style to color white, and to assign it a specific layer (for example, a layer called "test"). What the code syntax is to accomplish this?
I post the code below for what I have done thus far:
Public Shared Sub addDimensionStyle(ByVal strDimStyle As String)
Dim acDb As Database = HostApplicationServices.WorkingDatabase
Using acTrans As Transaction = acDb.TransactionManager.StartTransaction()
Dim dimTbl As DimStyleTable = acDb.DimStyleTableId.GetObject(OpenMode.ForWrite)
Dim dimTblRec As DimStyleTableRecord = Nothing

I have a drawing with exsisting multileaders in it.
I am trying to apply the match properties to a newly created multileader but it isn't working.
Just installed the new CS6. I'm experimenting with Illustrator. I feel a little dumb asking this, but ALL of my newly drawn paths, brush strokes, objects etc. keep automatically shifting to the bottom of the layer instead of like usual, appearing at the top. Is there a way to turn this off? Revert back to normal?
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have a good size project going on with lots of view ports of a base map (floor plan or site plan). Then we set the viewport layers the way we would like it, but along the way, we keep getting updated base maps (floor plan or site plan) with new layer created in them. These newly created layers are for the originator and will not affect our project.
Is there a way to have our project set to ignore any newly created layer from the originator of the base files? That is, we have our project (viewport layers) set the way we want it. When we get an updated base file, replace the xref(s), our layer state will still be the same, ignoring any newly created layer, automatically. I sure hope I am clear enough here.
Our problem is that when we get a new base file, then we would have to go to every file that has a viewport related to this new base file and turn off the new layers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
I need to convert a large number of images to png and need to later sort them by the original date created. "Save as" results in the current date/time as the date created. CS5.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIve been using lightroom for some time now and when I connect my cf card to the card reader lightroom starts and I select "import". I went to do the same as usual and it started up and I clicked import, the files started to download so I walked away. I came back an hour later and LR had frozen after the first few pictures. I gave it some time but then decided to cntrl alt dlt and end the task and tried to start over. It downloaded all of the images but they are not visible in LR. I can see all my previously downloaded images but not the new files. I can see the files and view them through my hard drive using the windows photo gallery viewer. I have checked for updates and my computer and LR are up to date, I also tried reinstalling LR and there is the same issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedToday when I was importing images off a memory card I noticed the thumbnails in library mode were not showing any previews, they were blank (gray) for only the recently imported items. My other folders' thumbnails are showing previews with no issue.
I am working in Lightroom 4. I am using Windows 8 on a HP laptop.
A couple of other notes about what I noticed...
1. In the import screen the thumbnails display the preview.
2. Once the import goes to the Library Mode - thumbnails are blank. Can only see the image number and any symbols indicating tags or changes to the image.
3. Loupe view I cannot get an image to appear.
4. In the Develop Mode if I click on a thumbnail down in the filmstrip (which are all blank) an image will appear in the work area and the filmstrip thumbnail will display a preview of the one I selected. The thumbnail preview will remain visible for a few moments after moving to a new image. Then it just goes blank again.
5. I was importing jpegs and dngs. Having the same problem with both of these today.
6. All the other thumbnails in folders that were in the catalog prior to today are visible and working normally.
newly imported images not displaying an image in the thumbnail whether it is in Library Mode, Loupe View, or Develop mode.
I figured out how to do a watermark. How do I save it to use the same one on other pics without having to redo it every time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLightroom 3.6 is not finding my newly exported .jpg files when I use Synchronize Folder. This has been working for me since I got LR many months ago, but today after I make adjustments to a .cr2 file and export the file to a .jpg file in the same folder, synchronize folder isn't finding the new .jpg files. Interestingly I used Windows Live Photo Gallery to copy/resize one of the .jpg files I'd exported, and LR *does* find that file, just not the originally exported one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running LR v3.4.1. I have had a single catalog for a long time and it has really effected performance, so I am wanting to move some files out into a separate catalog. Currently, my catalog is on my C: drive, but all of my pictures are on my K: drive, which is external. When I do the export as catalog, it creates the new catalog on my C: drive, but also creates a copy of all of the photos there as well. I want to point the catalog back to the original files on my K: drive so I can remove the ones created during the export process on my C: drive.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 64 bit. LR 4 worked fine. LR5 has the following (main) issues/bugs: Crashes when help - about system is clicked.
Freezes on keyword changes and will not refresh or change keywords with newly selected image. Sometimes fixes with waiting a long time, sometimes only with restart of the program or optimization of database.Does not allow files to be rotated in full view, only in grid view.
With the upgrade to 5.2 I hoped the above would be corrected. They have not, and now, as an added 'feature' I also have:During the same session, a previously exported image is re-exported with a new export in place of one or more of the newer exports. This happens despite the filmstrip or grid view being in sync on choices and when I am certain that previously exported image is not selected in the current export.
Further, the program does seem quite sluggish at times, though I have the program and database on seperate drives. I am thinking or will change over to working in previews to resolve that issue, meanwhile, the other issues are still in play.
What is the correct way to save photoshop actions that I have created? I currently save them by selecting the folder and then 'Save Actions' from the dropdown.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to create some new How Tos in CS3 and recieved the following error message when I try to open it:
"The Adobe Help application could not load a URL because the specified file could not be found. You may need to re-install the application and the help component."
If I access one of the ones created with CS2 it opens (I dragged them over from CS2, I have since removed CS2 from this computer, it's still on my laptop) I haven't tried creating them and importing them to this computer).
I'm using Microsoft Office Word 2003 to save the How Tos as html files, and notepad to edit Add_001.howto file.
Since I gotten this error, I reloaded CS3 Design Standard, it didn't fix the problem. Also I have ensured that the Add_001.howto file points to the right location (C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3Helpadditional how to content)and is in the right format:
"John Shaws CS3" "47. A GLOSSARY OF IMAGING TERMS" 47.html (works).
"Noise Ninja" "The Thirty Second Guide to Noise Ninja" Noise Ninja 001.html (doesn't work)
The only thing new on the computer is a brand spanking new EVGA NVidia Geforce 9500GT PCI express(512 mb ddr2 dual DVI output) with the latest drivers. It replaced NVidia GeForce 6600GS and Matrox Millenium video cards (the Matrox). The new video card does not include some program that allows it to run MS-DOS programs, but I don't feel that is causing the problem.

I'm trying to create a new family - a window with sill and lintel. In the attached file, I'm fine until I add the reference planes to create the fixed window frame. Prior to that point, all geometry perofrm as intended when I change the width or height of the window. Once the frame reference planes are added, the height change draws an error message. I've tried individually eliminating the possible causes with no success. What I'm doing incorrectly and specifically the steps necessary to fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've sliced an image for publishing to the web and saved it as an HTML file using the Save for Web command (PSC3). It is my understanding that PS creates the images and pages according to the options set in the Save for Web dialog, however, when viewed, the page shows place holders for the slices, but only red X's for the images. The resulting HTML code references a number of GIF files located in an "images" folder, but I cannot find the location of that folder. Search does not show a folder, nor the referenced file names.
Am I mis-understanding the HTML option in the Save for Web process? If not, where did PS put the images it supposedly created from the slices?
After using Abobe Illustrator CS2 at work for years, I suddenly can't open old drawings and if I start a new one even if it is small, when I close it can't save do to not enough memory. There is plenty of RAM and room on hard drive. Already have restored from an older date. Even before we (IT guys and I) did the restore we un-installed they re-installed Adobe from disk, and we still have the same problem. This is a primary program used for about 90% of the work I do.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI created a file in Illustrator CS6 (v. 16.0.0), and saved it as an (editable) PDF. When I try to reopen that same PDF inside Illustrator CS6, however, I get a "Could Not Open The File" error. The file opens in Acrobat just fine, but I need to continue editing/working on it. Opening it in 5.1 works but it's all flat and not ideal for editing. Renaming the extension to .eps or .ai didn't work, either. I also looked into potential font conflicts (none) and restarted my Mac (OS 10.7.5) to no avail.
