I'm projecting with LR, and the images just look a bit soft on the white wall even though I have a good Canon projector.Anyway to get LR to just preview and boost the sharpness/ contrast just for previewing?
View 34 Repliesi have just upgraded from Mac OS 10.5 and CS5 to Mac OS 10.8.4 and CS6 printing on Epson 9880. Struggling to get calibrated prints - before it was excellent. Now printed images are WAY contrasty and saturated compared to the monitor, a LA Cie 324, which I calibrate with la Cie Eye One puck. If I use settings "Let Printer" manage color, the print is much less saturated and contrasty than if I use the settings "Let PS" manage color; all this relates to using icc profiles for Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, or other papers, Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl, for example. The overall color is ok, it is an issue of contrast and saturation at the moment.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI managed to get my logo to white and looking nicely but when I try to create a border around it it doesn't look sharp. I am selecting the text, growing by 1 or 2 pixels around and filling a second layer with black and exporting as PNG (to maintain tranparency). You can see what the finished product looks like at [URL]..... in the slider on the main page. It does not look sharp at all. how to do this in a cleaner looking manner?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs it normal for video to be sharper during the CIRCLE transition and then return to the 'normal' sharpness at completion of the transition.
I have just rendered a project which contains quite a few transitions including Crossfade, Side, Spin, Face and Circle. Every time I have used the Circle transition the image 'inside' the 'circle' appears sharper until the 'circle' fills the screen (i.e. the end of the transition) when the image appears 'normal'.
I think that there is something wrong with CIRCLE transition as I have also noticed that it does not display correctly (preview window goes black) when you 'drag' the scrubber along the timeline.
I took an image off the internet.. used it on a project. When you look at the completed page, the image (LOGO) looks good, my client loved it, called it excellent. I printed it and sent to him.. well, that logo is rather blurry. Is there a way to make it crisper, more clear? Somehow make it sharper?
This is a color logo.
Just installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I would like to start improving my images vs removing the unwanted images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

Running Windows XP 64, Lightroom 3.3.
In Lightroom 4.1 when rating (flags, stars or colors) a selected group of images all images selected will have the same flag applied. For instance if I select 10 images to view in the survey mode to compare and select 1 to be flagged as rejected all 10 will be flagged rejected, not just the one. Is there a way to turn this off to select a group of images and flag each differently?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've watched all of the tutorials and read all I can to get to the bottom of this to no avail. I understand that I need to use the foilders panel in the library module to move photos, my problem is that the folder module does not show any destination folders at all!
When I import my images I create a job and place the images in a subfolder named Raw Files eg. 2013 Jobs > 075 Robert and Jess E-Shoot > Raw Files
This way all of my images are in a folder that is job related. Occasionally, however, I will forget to change the import folder when importing the Raws, and the images for the next job will go into the Raw folder for the previous job. I'd like to be able to move the raw images to the correct folder, but in the folder panel the only path showing is the path I've imported to.
In the case above, my 2013 Jobs file should show 75 subfolders of individual jobs, but there is only one showing. I need to be able to see the destination folder in lightroom to move the Raws to their proper home. As I can't see the destination folder I can't move any files, and I end up having to try to work it out in the operating system.
how to get all of the subfolders to show?
Have folders on desktop, images are in them. In import module, LR says the folders are empty and I can not import them. I recently had hard disc problem, have new disc, latest version Mac OS, restored all images from backup LR sees images that were imported before the disc replacement but now won't see new folders.

I have downloaded LR5 Upgrade onto my PC (Windows 7). The LR5 new features work. So far the program is working as expected, except that when an image is deleted using LR5, the image disappears from LR5 and appears in the recycle bin as it should, but it does not disappear from my Canon DPP program. LR3 is still on the computer and when an image was deleted using LR3, it always disappeared from both LR3 and Canon DPP. Why won't a deletion with LR5 take the image out of Canon DPP ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the preference set to keep 1:1 cache files for 30 days, and the max cache size is set to 30gb. The cache file has never yet approached this size. I've gone through the trouble of having LR work in the background to create previews for whole collections. After this process, performance is as snappy as I'd expect; images load immediately and there's no more than a one second lag when zooming in to 1:1. But hours or days later, on the same collections, when there has been no change made to the files, everything slows down. The wheels spin as LR loads each image preview, even at reduced fit-to-screen size. Processor utilization zooms to near 100% during these loads, so it seems LR is rendering the views all over again.
What happened to my cached previews?
Running a mac pro, 8 core xeon 2.8ghz, 18gb ram, 3tb 7200rpm data drive that's about 10% full.
The delay happens when in develop mode. In Library mode the pre-made previews are available and load instantly. Is this just the way things are?
I have just purchased a Canon 5D Mark III. I have Lightroom 3 and Lightroom 4. I have tried to import RAW images, but neither of the Lightrooms will import the images. Do I need a plug in or update?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to geotag 73 images. I have them highlighed and I search on the map for the required location (Galway Ireland). When I drag the images across the map, it changes to another location (Tipperary Ireland) with the marker showing "68". I have previously tagged some images in that location.
How to correct it. I have a deadline looming and time is ticking away while I struggling with the new technology!
It's not a long way to Tipperary from where I am - but it could be a long time before I geotag these images!
I'm finding the LR4 is (generally speaking) over exposing RAW (.nef) images by anything between 1 to 2 stops.
My .nef files are from a Nikon D3 and the 'Lens Correction' delelope module in LR4 has been set up for my camera and lenses and the Camera Calibration module is set up for 2012 (Current).
My continuing story of space issues. Find that I'm rapidly running out of space now that my wife has been uploading way too many 24 mpixel files (~30Gb total) to my Lightroom 5 catalog. Is there any way to export her RAW files to a thumb drive or another external hard drive? The only export functions I see are conversions to Jpegs.

For example: We have an image in three versions (rgb, cmyk, gray). If I find one of these, I would like to klick on a button like "show correspondend images". So I can see all versions of this images we ever saved.
I have recently installed Lightroom 3 on a different computer and am unable to see the images that are imported.Currently I am seeing them as gray boxes with no image viewable. They are not showing as a broken image or link missing.
