View 2 RepliesI just installed LR4.4 onto my Toshiba lap top, and when I try to import photos all I see are grey boxes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7x64 and have recently installed Lightroom 4.3. Initially worked well but after installing Photoshop CS6 I can no longer see images. The metadata and histograms are there but no images. What I see is a set of gray frames, one for each image in the imported group. Each frame is numbered sequentially, and the total gray frames is the same as the number of images in the imported file.
Using the "Develop" mode I still see only a gray box, though the histogram is live, and as I move the cursor across the gray box it shows R, G, and B characteristics as if the photograph is visible.
I run a HP DV6 Laptop with Core I7 and Windows 7. While editing my photos my computer appeared to over heat (which is a recurring issue that I'm working to resolve) during mid-post production. Upon restarting my computer, and when I accessed the same photos, I got a very lengthy loading icon when I clicked on a photo under the "Develop" tab. This problem recurred and in attempt to resolve the problem I decided to delete the library and re-import the files. Upon re-import, I cannot view all the photos in the library grid view. I'm not sure if my files are now corrupt from the sudden crash or is it just a data issue with LR?
I've attached a screen shot of what the problem library looks like...
Just installed the LR3 software and updated to the last version. I inserted the SD-card with 12 pictures (jpg and raw) into the card reader but on the LR3 screen I only saw 12 grey rectangles. However, I imported the 12 pictures into a folder on the PC. The rectangles remained gray. With other programes I can see and open the pictures. My camera is a LX5.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an assignment for my concept stratagies class were we have to design a logo for assigned company. My logo needs a brushed look to it that i could only recreate with image trace. Completely new to this technique and so is my professor. Here's the issue:
Scanned in my tight pencil logo design and saved as a jpeg since there was no other option
Opened in Illustrator and used image trace... default everything except the threshold is set to about 102 or so to get the brushy look... also it's black and white
Extracted the image which gave me the vector that i needed
Selected the whole image to change the color to red and it turned gray.... that's not what I wanted...
I need to be able to change the color of this vector by 9/18/13...
I opened a pdf file in Gimp (floor plan) and it turned all the dark lines to pale gray. I tried saving it as a jpeg and it didn't work. What can I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn AutoCAD LT 2013, everytime I do something, little gray boxes explaining what I just did stack up on top of the "Type a command" box. Since you can't see thru, or work thru those little gray stack boxes I find myself constantly panning my drawing back and forth to work around them. It would sure make my drawing more efficient and less frustrating if I could turn off those little gray stack boxes. I've clicked around to try to find out if this can be done, but not knowing what they are called is making the quest a bit difficult.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have have small gray shaded boxes showing up on drawings plotted in Civil 3D, they are never anywhere I can see in the drawing and they never show up in the print preview. I have tried using multiple printers and still get the same thing. I think it may have something to do with viewports as they only show up inside a viewport window when plotting from paperspace and don't show up when I plot from modelspace.

I have a problem! I made pictures with blacklight and they have a nice surreal blue color. But when I import them into InDesign they totally lose their color and are almost grey...WHY??
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy question is: How do I change the colors of the default white-and-gray grid behind pictures (the one shown when you have a transparent or blank area in your picture)? I'm asking this because I'm trying to design some glass-like icons (that use a transparent white on the edges), and due to the white areas on the grid behind the picture it's very hard to see the separate pixels. Is there possibly any way to change these colors to, say, black or something, so I can see what I'm editing better?

I can't find what I did to cause this and can't find a way of undoing it. I have done ctrl-Z all the way back but its still there.

Here's the situation. I have a block that will be inserted showing a piece of angle iron that is used for a stiffener. We have various sizes that will need to be used. Instead of typing in the angle size each time it's inserted can I have a list of all the angle sizes and then a pick box or radial dial or something to be selected and that is what is put in the block?
My company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have another question about GREY images.
Example: CTRL+click on grey channel theoreticly (by my theory) make selection from white depending on its value. So cuting out must leave transparent greyscale image. But it don't (okey, it do, but changes black value):
The same selection inverted and filled with 100%K gives correct result: Is my "theory" about CTRL+click selection wrong? Becouse for my point of view, both ways should give same result.
I use print preview in Lightroom 4. I also print a lot of landscapes. When I hit print and go to print preview, all my images are turned on end which makes review difficult. Is there a way to view them as they should be, landscape. In Lightroom, everything is set to landscape and in the printer module, it is all set to landscape. Just in print preview, they are turned on end.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI shot an event for a couple (a reception) and I didn't have my gray card so I set my Canon 5D mkII on auto white balance (shooting with a Canon 24-70 2.8 and a Sigma 85 1.4). As you'll see from the two example photos - the shots taken in the venue lobby looked fine, but the shots from inside the event itself were amazingly saturated. The room had a ton of very bright uplighting in purple and pink - the shots looked fine in the viewfinder, but once I brought them into LR4, there was a nearly complete purple/pink cast over everything. Setting the white balance in LR to auto, tungsten, flourescent - nothing worked. Adjusting the temp sliders - only slightly better. Reducing vibrance and saturation useful a little more, but I'm really having a hard time finding a fix!

View 2 Replies View RelatedAll what I get are gray previews with a newly built catalogue and also with an older one after having moved my pictures and LR to a new PC. The pictures contain some metadata like numbers and scores (stars or colors) of a former evaluation. These gray pictures appear in all modules, except in the web module. Only there I get the normal appearance. The monitor is recently calibrated, and I also deleted the .irdata file and got a rebuilt one, but this did'nt change the situation.
