I imported my photos into organizer. I don't see the pictures, all I see are grey squares. I have to open every single picture in editor before I can see it in the organizer.
View 2 RepliesI have 2 hard disks in my computer. The c drive is getting crowded and I want to move my photo folder to the other disc (D:). How do I "tell" Organizer to point to the d drive instead of the C drive.

I inserted the SD-card with 12 pictures (jpg and raw) into the card reader but on the LR3 screen I only saw 12 grey rectangles. However, I imported the 12 pictures into a folder on the PC. The rectangles remained gray. With other programes I can see and open the pictures. My camera is a LX5.

Then, I went into Picasa to check some older pictures and it captured all the new pictures and since then, I cannot develop my pictures in Lightroom. I can still see them in the Library, but a message appears above them saying they are missing.I can't. They are on my hard drive and in Picasa.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe files are Mpeg4..I just upgraded some PSE 11 catalogs to PSE 12 and all functions and tags imported fine. When I import video only into PSE12 organizer, it will not generate a thumbnail image. I imported the same files into the old catalog using PSE11 and the thumbnails will be created. I have even gone a step further and converted the PSE11 catalog after imports were made, and PSE12 will now have the thumbnails. Eventually PSE11 is going to have to be uninstalled.

I have reloaded Lightroom 5.3 no change......From the same usb harddrive all works great on my desktop computer.. With laptop the gray squares. I have tried the Synchronize folder no change tho numbers showed up in loup view.........but no images. From the stand alone hard drive I can get photos in Photoshop and BRIDGE.

All these pictures are in the location D:/pictures/privat pictures/2001/YYYYMMDD. Each year has a lot of folders oriented by date.
All this pictures are a second time at my backup drive Z:/backup pictures/private pictures/2001/................
After creating a new catalog and start importing all files from D: it takes time till all pictures are imported.
But then the failure happens if i click to any folder in D: i can not see any picture.
If i start import i.e. for one single folder again i get the message" pictures are already imported..."
If i click at a bar in the timeline the pictures are shown and the path tree shows it at location Z....with the path name from D:
I created more catalogs the last time to find a solution.
I use Windows 7 ultimate
I have moved the library folder in OSX and then tried to start lightroom again pointing it to the new library location. Afterwards all Previews were replaced by grey squares (with color curves showing on the right, stars etc. but no image). It looks like the previews are not created but all the information are there
why when moving to the Developer rider, the Photos appear and i can work on it again. Thereafter it also appears again in the previews. S
Tried to optimize library but after 6 days of process ongoing i stopped with no changes at all to the library. Have about 60k photos in the library.I have tried the monitor settings but that makes no difference.This also happens with newly imported pictures,the ones that were appearing clearly in the library are grey at the next start of the project.running lightroom 5 with imac and latest osx.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a photo in Photoshop (CS5) the photo doesn't display in my window. It shows as if I had opened a new document with the grey and white squares. The thumbnail for the image in the layers palatte shows perfectly. If I click zoom the image will sometimes show, but then if I zoom in again it goes back to the squares or if I zoom out again it goes back to the squares. I've had this version of photoshop for a couple of years and never had a problem until this week. I've checked/run updates for everything I can think of and nothing is working!
