GIMP :: PDF File - Turned All Dark Lines To Pale Gray
Nov 12, 2013I opened a pdf file in Gimp (floor plan) and it turned all the dark lines to pale gray. I tried saving it as a jpeg and it didn't work. What can I do?

Illustrator :: Change Default Toolbar Background From Dark Gray To Light Gray?
Aug 18, 2013How do I change the default toolbar background from dark gray to light gray in illustrator CS6? In the older versions, the toolbar backgrounds were light gray. It easier to read on light gray backgrounds. THe same question applies to Photoshop CS6. InDesign CS6 has light gray backgrounds.

Apr 4, 2013Not sure what I did, but one file that I am regularly working in, while in Modelspace, has changed to really thick lines and all of the lines are a shade of grey or black. From the viewport in Paperspace, the colors and everything looks fine. I assume that I have somehow toggled a Setvar and need to toggle it back.

Sep 16, 2013I'm working on an assignment for my concept stratagies class were we have to design a logo for assigned company. My logo needs a brushed look to it that i could only recreate with image trace. Completely new to this technique and so is my professor. Here's the issue:
Scanned in my tight pencil logo design and saved as a jpeg since there was no other option
Opened in Illustrator and used image trace... default everything except the threshold is set to about 102 or so to get the brushy look... also it's black and white
Extracted the image which gave me the vector that i needed
Selected the whole image to change the color to red and it turned gray.... that's not what I wanted...
I need to be able to change the color of this vector by 9/18/13...

Feb 19, 2014CS5.5 or CC – I have experienced several times that flat grayscale imaged - corrected and nice in PhotoShop turns up much too dark when placed in InDesign.
I make sure no effect or colors are applied to the frame or picture, but still no effect.
If I force transparency on the actual spread (by placing two white items on top of each other, the topmost multiplied on the master page) then it looks correct at once.
It makes no difference if it is a flat grayscale jpg or a psd, even a psd with a white background turns out this way.
Photoshop :: Background Transparent Displays As Dark Gray
Aug 31, 2006My default background/work area has been transparent--displayed as a light gray and white checkerboard--forever.
Today it changed to dark gray. It's still transparent, but it shows up on the screen as dark gray. I want it back the way it was. I've read all the solutions on the Adobe forums (using the magic wand, or the background eraser, etc.) and none of them work.
I can't help but think I inadvertently changed some setting,

Dec 19, 2012I'm using Illustrator cs6. I would like to change the dark gray background that surrounds the art board to a step and repeat patterns of our logo. We use screenshots as a means of generating low-res proofs. Having our step and repeat logo pattern as the background would allow us to easily include it in our low-res screenshot proofs. Can I replace the "system file" for the dark gray to our step and repeat pattern?

Sep 22, 2009is it possible to change the background color [outside the artboard] to a dark grey? because i really dont like having a big white screen while working in illustrator.when you normally work in illustrator, the artboard is indicated by a black border line but when you select the artboard editor tool, the background changes to dark grey, so it is possible and that is the effect im looking for, but then permanently.is it possible to do this via the preferences somewhere, or via a hack?

Feb 23, 2011I have a drawing that has a xref drawing inserted in it, that has lines still printing when they turned off off in the xref drawing, now I have got around this by selecting not to print in the xref drawing layer manager, but I do not understand why they are still printing if they are turned off ?

May 10, 2011We recently switched to 64-bit ACAD on dell M6500 laptops. I used to use dynamic input all the time, but after the switch I noticed when using Dynamic input turned on, when you go to draw a LINE, after you pick the first point, the mouse "lags" and becomes "glitchy". I had the problem "fixed" once by our IT guy, he updated the driver or something and everything was fine.
But now it is doing it again.

They are there before I flatten and still after, and even after saving~ are they some sort of a guide line? And my worry is will they show up in printing, is there a way to get rid of them?

Mar 26, 2014I am working on a multimedia project using Premiere CC - a friend of mine was translating an interview using cs6 Premiere.He sent me the project file and when i opened, everything seemed fine on the different sequences besides one.
It has grey diagonal lines and no audio or visual, then all of a sudden it kicks back in? It is visible in the preview window however, so it isnt corrupt or anything
If i drag the clip shorter, the whole program then goes whack and crashes.There should be audio and visual in the grey diagonal area, as there is subtitles like shown.
GIMP :: How To Increase Width Of Lines In PNG File
Jun 4, 2013I have a picture in png format which contains some waveforms. I want to increase the thickness of the waveforms.
One way could be to draw thicker lines on the waveforms in Window's paintbrush but that is very time consuming and cumbersome process.
Can it be done using GIMP? I am attaching the part of the picture which has two waveforms. For the sake of illustration, the thickness can be made double of the existing one.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Plotting Gray Lines Pixilated
Sep 25, 2013I have a client who updated to AutoCAD Arch 2014 and now is having trouble with his grey lines printing pixilated.
He is using the same .ctb file from 2013 (moved up from 2012) also his pc3 file (from 2012). When he moved to 2013 he had this issue and went back to his 2012 pc3 and everything was working fine again.
So when he had the issue in 2014 he started using the 2012 pc3 file. But this time - no change.

Merge Lines in PC3 'Device and Document Settings Tab' does not work when creating PDF's - but the same CTB works fine if I print to (2) different plotters and (3) different printers. We use gray for backgrounds and use black thicker lines for detail work. For many years we have had to make sure to send the backgrounds (gray colors) to the back (draworder) before plotting. It is not practical to do this every time we plot. I'm willing to use another program to create PDF's but I haven't found one that works.

Apparently anti-aliasing is off for brushes now and i cant figure out where to turn it on again.

Oct 23, 2013Im brand spanking new to Illistrator, andfor my first project decided to re-make my logo for my small minecraft server, since my origional was such poor quality.how to make what I wanted, the problem im having is when I change the size of my grouped image it creates grey lines between the rectangle shapes, There is no gaps, if you zoom in as far as you can they disappear.I exported the image as PNG and they still percist, attatched (Top right finished origional size I made it)
I found out I could "rasterize" my selected content like in video editing "render", I had to do this to "finish" a vector image, any more information on a better workflow.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Background Mask Plotting Gray Dotted Lines?
Dec 27, 2013We are using Autocad 2014, we recently changed our dimension style fill color to background in lieu of none. This way when we are labeling components on our drawings our text would be to the front and the lines would be to the back. Before we would trim all lines around text which was tedious. We have lines merge on which is a must for our firm. When we plot or create pdf files, there are random gray dotted lines either to the left or left and top of the text where the background mask box is located (see attachment). It is not every dimension or multiline leader text. We plot to an Oce Plotwave 300 (printer driver ocegdi11.hdi). The lines are more faint on the plots than the pdf file, but are on both.
Also tried plotting a pdf file within autocad with the dwg to pdf.pc3 (printer driver pdfplot11.hdi) with lines merge on and it created the lines also. If I use the adobe pdf (printer driver gdiplot.hdi) it did not put the lines. Adobe pdf will not work for us because it is set to lines overwrite instead of lines merge. When I changed the adobe pdf to lines merge it created a filled color region behind my dimensions and masked text. I contacted AcroPlot which is the program we use to create pdf files and they said it is a bug in Autocad, but thought it was fixed in newer versions. I have tried changing the dimtfillclr to 255, but this did not work for us.

Photoshop :: PSD Turned Into Unknown File
May 16, 2013I created a couple of psd files last night. A simple pricelist in photoshop and I developed a habit of saving every few minutes. I can't remember if I closed photoshop last night or not but when I woke up this morning, my pc had rebooted itself (re-started).
I open photoshop to start working on the files again and this icon appears but with the name that I saved my files as (8.5x11_pricelist) . I tried to open it in photoshop and I get the error: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I clicked on properties to see what is going on and it simply states 8.5x11_pricelist file and in the "open with" section it states: unknown.
I don't know what could've happened but I'm devistated. I've been working on this file for sometime now. get my file back?

I used to be able to do quick and dirty salvaging of pics that are too darkin Photoshop Elements 2 using the levels tool. While Gimp has a levels tool it doesn't seem to work quite the same way.
So what would you do to restore a pic like this?
