Jan 10, 2014I've used Lightroom 3, 4 and now 5 so I know my way around the software pretty well. Never had an issue like this in previous LR versions. Basically, when I Spot Edit a spot (such as a speck of dust that was on the sensor or lens) there is alway s a "ghost" of the speck that remains, no matter what I do. The Opacity is set to 100, yet the tool behaves as if it is set to 90. It happens with Clone and Heal. I have also tried adjusting the Feather setting, to no avail.

Switching back and forth from Lightroom, I usually find the radio button has switched back to "Create Texture" mode, which I do not want. I leave it in Content-Aware, but it switches on its own. Can't find any way to set it to stay where I put it.

Mar 4, 2014With both tools, I can make a few changes and then both will leave a black brush spot. It works, and then it is like the program is too challenged & it just leaves a black spot. Sometimes if I move my mouse to the history panel to back up to get rid of the black spot I get a swipe of the tool all across the image when I'm reaching with the mouse to go back in history.
I'm using PSE 11 and a Macbook Pro.
Photoshop :: Spot Channel Separates As Shade Of Spot Colour
Oct 24, 2005I have placed a photoshop file in illustrator CS, the file contains a spot channel transparency that I want to print as a pantone plate. When I print separations my spot channel prints as a shade of grey. Several other vector items (generated in illustrator) using the same pantone print as a solid 100% black. I'm worried that my file will print with the transparency part of my pantone as a shade of its self when I send the files to the printer.

I have access to the fabric and can take pictures/scans of the fabric to extract the exact pattern and would like to overlay it onto an existing picture of a man with a proper dress shirt on to see how the fabric would look on the actual shirt.
I would like this to be as real as possible so that you could not tell that the fabric was actually "draped" onto the shirt. The result would be something similar to the Perry Ellis website:

whether this can be done with Photoshop or if there is another alternative method I should pursue? I already have an original with my model in a very flat grey shirt that I would like to modify.

I have a long history using MAX but not importing this kind of data, with any success.
Generally, I know that Global Mapper is the good source for hirez imagery based on geospatial coordinates. Not sure how to use GM, but I bet they have tutorials. Mapping GM data onto a Max mesh is possible.
But when it comes to creating realistic terrain from DEM, or Lidar data, I'm not sure where to start.
AutoCad :: Name Objects In Data Visualization Model
Nov 23, 2011I have complete structural data on mature redwood trees that I have been able to get into AutoCad for visualization and error correction purposes. The results are amazing. The orbit command allows me to fly all around the tree and see it from many angles, which allows me to spot errors in the data. The trees are modeled as large collections of cones and conic frusta. Essentially all I use is the cone command, and change the layers if I am drawing the trunk, side trunks and/or branches. I have been able to do this with a script.
My dilemma: Every conic section in the original data has a unique name. When I find a structural error visually it is very hard to determine where the error is in the original data. It would be great if I could name each object (conic frusta) with its corresponding name form the original data, with the script. I could then track down the errors more easily.
A few questions:
What is the best approach? It seems that creating a block for each conic frusta would work (some trees have over 600 conic sections), but I haven't been able to automate this with scripts.
When testing the exact structure that would be needed in a script I encounter the following problems: When I create a block from a selected conic section from the command line with "-block" the resulting block disappears and I have to insert it later. This seemed fine until I tried running a script. The script created a block with the right name but nothing was in it when I opened it in the block editor. If I use "block" it does exactly what I want it to, but "block" doesn't work with a script because it uses the graphical version of the command.
Lightroom :: Spot Removal In 4.3
Dec 29, 2012I have a problem with Lightroom (=LR). When i use "the spot removal tool", there is only one circle, around the spot i want to remove. The other spot, that use to show the clean area that the tool is sampling from, does not come up.
When i left-click on the mouse, LR remove the spot, but i do not have any influance on where LR samples the clean area from.
I have just updated LR from version 4.2 to 4.3, but as far as i remember, the problem was there before i updated.
I use Windows 7, 64 bit version on my PC.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: View - Visualization Of Corridors With Multiple Baselines Or Intersections
Aug 28, 2012I created a simple roundabout in Civil3D with the intent on visualizing the corridor in 3DS Max Design using the Civil View plugin. The corridor rendered complete in Civil 3D, but there are large corridor gaps in Civil View. They all appear to be at the location of corridor baseline boundaries. Obviously this is a non-starter, as 3DS Max is supposed to improve the visual quality, not reduce.
Attached are some sample images of the roundabout in Civil3D and in 3DS Max Design.
I am using Civil 3D 2012 and 3DS Max Design 2012.

(In my defense, I've read instructions, youtubed and googled till I'm blue - So, I click on the Spot Remover tool, then click on the target and drag to the spot I want to "heal" from. As long as I'm holding down the mouse button, I can see the intended result. But as soon as I release the mouse button, it reverts to the original blemish.

Jun 27, 2013Yesterday I installed LR5 on my desktop and when I went to use the visualize spot tool it was missing. After trying to find the problem, also trying to figure out how to get a hold of Adobe support, I decided to uninstall LR5 and, naturally re-installed it but I still had the same problem. I decided to install LR5 on my laptop and, lo and behold, there was the spot visualization tool. Lightroom does not run well there, it barely a half step above a net book. But the difference between the upgrades is this: on the desk top the upgrade was from LR4.4 while on the laptop the upgrade was fr LR3.6.

Aug 19, 2013Just upgraded to Lightroom 5. Hadn't used 4 in awhile, but I don't remember ever having this issue in 4.
I am working on multiple images where there are dust spots in the exact same locations, so I am using the heal brush on one, and applying the results to multiple images by syncing "Spot Removal". Sometimes it works, and other times I am left with a strange mark that looks more like a brush stroke. The "Spot Removal" sync is not working.
The images are extremely similar, so the original heal brush (and the chosen source spots) should work fine on all images - that is not the issue. I am syncing hundreds of images at the same time - don't know if that is part of the problem, however I can sync just 2 images that are right next to each othe - sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't.
May go back and try Lightroom 4 again, as I see lot's of issues with Lightroom 5 on forums.

Basically, a substantial portion of the time I hit "Q" I do not get the circle for spot heal. The cursor disappears and I cannot see anything. However, the tool is working, but I can't see its size. If I turn it off and back on I get the crosshairs and thus I can click and hide spots, but I can't see when I grow/shrink it, and I can't see when I move it.
I've seen this with all of the Lightroom 4.1 versions (RC1, RC2, and now GM) on OS X 10.7.4. This is on a Mac Pro with ATI graphics.
