View 8 RepliesI just installed Lightroom 4 and am trying to use the maps feature, but panning and zooming it is so slow that it is nearly unusable. I never had perf problems with LR3, and I've got a decent machine:
Windows 7 x64
4-core 2.8 Ghz CPU
8 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce GT 440
Using Google Maps on the web is as snappy as expected. Would installing Google Earth worth?
When I look at the LatLong choices while in the "Select Global Coordinate System", I see a longer list than I expected. Which of these choices is most consistent with the Latitude and Longitude system Google Maps uses?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project looking at modifying cycle routes. I just discovered that they've been added to google maps and I was wondering if there's a way to import the cycle routes from an area on google maps into CAD. If not, I can draw them in on the OS but it would be time wasted if there's a way.
I thought maybe on AutoCAD WS on chrome, but it seems limited on the mapping features available.
i m trying to import gmaps in to drawing.
i import it with drap image but problem is how to scale it.?
how to mache drawing and image?
I ran into a problem after just installing Civil 3D 2010 when I tried to import an image and elevation data from google earth. The message box says the following:
The Feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Google Earth.msi' in the box below.
I just installed 2013 on my pc yesterday. The first task I was given was to import a Google Earth image into AutoCAD to try to get some dimensions on a house for an exhibit. I open Google Earth and set my location to import, then I go to the Render tab, select Set Location, I click Import the current location from Google Earth, click Continue, then i get an error message saying Class not registered.

Does you can still import a google earth image into civil 3d 2013 and if so what are the steps to do so.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create drawings for a client where we want to have everything coordinate correct and the correct dimension for roads and other info. Their units are set to Engineer and Unitless (which I do not have control over). Plus we assign a state plane coordinate system to the drawing.
When I import lidar information from a .shp file it may be placing the lines/images correctly, but I'm measuring 5' for a road that is actually 60' (I did notice that it is a multiple of 12). I can't scale everything up by 12 from the origin - because then I would lose the coordinates... In Decimal - everything is fine (naturally =] )
How do I bring in information and have it measure correctly? And more importantly, that I can then draw correctly.

I have this HUGE maps I have to import to create pan and zooms. The file is a PNG with a resolution of 25000 x 16400px. Smoke doesn't play nice when I import this dil. It's all black and won't render. If there a max file resolution in Smoke? Or is it a problem with PNG files? (I tried with PSD adn it did the same).

In the 'type a command' ribbon, when I type in 'GEOGRAPHICLOCATION' and select 'Import the current location from Google Earth' (opens Google Earth, where you can retrieve a location to import).
Then a window appears which says 'Navigate to the location in Google Earth that you want to import before continuing (for best results, configure the view in Google Earth to look directly over the location that you want to import).
When I select 'continue' the command ribbon asks that I, 'select a point for the location <0, 0, 0>:
I have looked at the co-ordinates on google earth and attempted to enter but it does not feel right. Then says 'specify the north direction or (angle):s, then 'Point or option keyword required'.
Any way to have the ability to draw subdivision lines on satellite imagery. Garmin's Basecamp will allow drawing on top of google earth but I do not want tracks, I will only use the waypoints made by the gps device, but I need to draw measured lines that reflect the co-ordinates of the location.

I would like to know if I can import my AutoCAD 3d file into 3DS MAX, with the lighting maps and material maps intact. This is because I am doing my thesis on AutoCAD 2011 but I would like to use 3DS Max to do a walk through video.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen cutting video shots in sync with a music track how can I remove part of a clip and replace with a new shot. I know there is a replace clip facility but there appears to be no way of editing the new clip. What I would like to do is leave blanks in sync with the music and fill in correct length of shot later. The same question for overlaying video shots of an interview and holding sync when returning to interviewee.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn VideoStudio 6, how does one connect the voice track to the video during the editing process?
My specific issue is that I have to go back and edit material sometimes that precedes the voice track I already have laid down, but when the time frame of the material after my new edit I have to go back and drag the voice track to the proper location. I would like to be able to permanently "attach" the voice track to the specific video clip and have it follow that clip as it is moved, time wise, during the editing process.
Is there a means to make this happen?
PS - I realize there is a work around way - just publish each clip and then rebuild the final project but that is NOT what I want to do.
Are the keywords in Lightroom recognized by Google analytics?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have installed LR4 X64 on a brand new Windows 7 ultimate laptop. I can't see the maps. I have updated to LR4.1 RC still can't see the maps. I have checked the firewall logs and added LR to allowed programs. Still no luck. I have turned the firewall (Windows) off. Still no luck. All other app access the internet OK. Other features in LR can access the internet OK, e.g. ftp to my website. I have searched google and this seems to be a problem for others with the X64 version.

It would just make it easier to add clips before the edited one, although it's not all that hard to sync things up.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've just inherited a 500GB HDD from my Dad and I'd love to be able to work all his photos through LR, although there's no way I'm sitting there and importing each and every directory!
As Google Picasa can be told to monitor a directory (eg My Pictures) and each time a new directory or directories are added, on startup it scans for and locates these new dirs and imports the pictures.
Can LR3 be set up to do this please as it would save me hours if I could just leave it overnight to import all of his pics straight into LR.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having all sorts of problems with Lightroom 5.2 and wish I'd just stayed with Lightroom 4. I've already posted about not being able to import directly from an SD card in my laptops reader, and have at least found a work around to that (copy files to hard drive them import - I see others have found the same thing and it works just fine).
Now I have realised that the map screen in the map module is blank. I had this problem initially with Lightroom 5, and then it seemed to resolve itself. It is refusing to resolve itself in Lightroom 5.2 however. I've searched on the web for similar problems, and have found some responses to blank map screens in Lightroom 4, but they are so technical I haven't got a clue where to start trying to follow them.
So, I am a simple soul who needs a simple answer. I am using LR 5.2 on an HP laptop running Windows 7. In the map module, where I already have GPS data (from a Canon EOS 6D) it is displayed in the metadata, and the little pop up box shows the number of photos at selected locations etc. But the central map screen is black. If I search, the screen stays black although it appears as though it has gone to the location. The Navigator screen is blank too. And yes, I am connected to the internet and LR5.2 seems to be able to find the internet (I checked by going into the web module).
I like to put GPS locations on my photos prior to upload to Flickr, and whereas they are there from photos from my 6D, they don't exist for photos taken on my Canon Powershot.
I imported my iPhoto Library in Lightroom 4 but unfortunately my attached places (GPS data) are not visible in Lightroom 4.My other geatagged photo's are.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm curious how many of you use note track in the track view/dope sheet? It is running damn slow here, 15sec to add a note track, 30sec adding a note in dopesheet and 1 mins before I could open up the note editor. I doubt it is being useful at all.
Moreover, the infamous Max MotionClip Manager bugs is caused by that... so do you really use it?
The workflow seems pretty intuitive. There's one area that I can't figure out though and that's how to keep track of different versions of the same image.I have a number of images that are the same "base" image but in different formats (and folders), say a RAW file and a JPEG. Is there a way to link or track those two images in Lightroom so if I make changes to one image (adding keywords, for example) the changes are made to the other automatically?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just discovered that my Lightroom 3.6 has lost track of some files. The files exist on the hard drive, but Lighroom doesn't display them. When I try to re-import them, Lightroom reports that they already exist. When I search for them by file name in Lightroom, they aren't found.

I have created GPX files on my phone, loaded them into the map module and selected the corresponding photos. When I select "Auto-tag selected photos" from the pop-up menu where I loaded the track I get an error saying "No Matching Photos" I have checked the track data and the times of the photos and they do match - the track runs from 12:32 to 4:37 on 9-13-2012 and the photos were all taken within this time frame.
