Photoshop :: Replace Colour Tool Not Allowing Multiple Colour Replacement
May 21, 2013I am using CS6 and the Replace Colour Tool no longer allows me to replace multiple colours when I select the + . So when I have the panel open and I highlight the +, I used to then be able to click on several spots in my image and all of the colours that are in those spots are added to the selected colours that will be changed by using the sliders.
But now, when I use the + it has exactly the same effect as not using it - I can only choose one colour or an other, I can't add.....I want to reset this to the original way that this works.
Currently I have to open the panel, change one variation of a colour, save it, then re-open the panel and do it again (and again and again) until all the colour variations I am trying to remove are are changed. I know I also have the 'fuzziness' slider, but it does not give enough control.
Illustrator :: Cannot Delete Colour Swatch In CS 5.5
Jul 3, 2012I can not delete some of the swatches (PMS colours) from the dock. I've tried to search for any artwork that may contain the colour, but I could not find anything. When I open Swatch Options it only lets me change Color Mode. Swatch name and color type are greyed out no matter what color mode I choose. I've tried to copy and paste the artwork in a new document, restart Illustrator but the problem persist.
I work on Mac OS x 10.6.8..

Apr 11, 2008I have a B&W image in my PS2 (black car, white background) but when I click on image > adjustments > replace colour, on the background for example, it just goes gray...not the nice blue I want. This worked before with other images so I'm not sure why this is happening this time.

Lightroom :: How To Replace / Delete Catalogs
Aug 27, 2013I recently mistakenly deleted my LR catalog and the .lrcat backups. I have dragged and dropped (COM+C) the backups from my trash into the Lightroom folder where it previously lived. When i opened LR everything was back in place (mostly) and I was very happy untill I realized I had opened LR into the wrong catalog (an old LR3 catlog instead of LR4).
1. Would it work to simply COM+C, drag and drop, the backup to its folder again but this time with the LR4 catalog open to put all the data in the correct LR4 catalog.?
2. Then could I delete the old LR3 catalog as it is i.e. with the content I just incorrectly placed in it ? How would I go about that ?
3. There are a few catalogs in the "Open Recent" dropdown list of catalogs. These were created during the process of stubling through LR to figure out how to resolve my issue. Can these be safely deleted ? Some are LR3, some are LR4.
4. LR3 is still installed on my computer. How do I safely delete (uninstall) it ?

Feb 27, 2013Test file dropshadow_replace_demo.cdr contains a yellow rectangle with a black drop shadow, all in RGB,
Run Edit > Find and Replace with the options Replace Objects > Replace a colour model > Any colour model, replace with CMYK.
The rectangle will be converted to CMYK but the drop shadow remains stubbornly as RGB.
Of course there are third party replacers which are easier to use and probably work better, but the built in replacer ought to work properly on all objects that CorelDraw supports and not just some of them.

It can easily be removed with the paint bucket with the default settings, the watermark is light grey, the pictures (JPGs) are black and white (a scanned book). Oct 17, 2013Basically what is happening is they will create this file in illustrator and then print to pdf, when it gets opened in acrobat it is fine. But when you open the same pdf in illustrator it get rotated and the font is replaced by these crossboxes. It happens from time to time more so I'm told on bigger files. But does not happen when she saves to pdf.

I know about changing the default in existing profiles and creating new profiles with my choice of font. Not enough! I want to change the underlying default, the one that is used when no profile is active.
When is no profile active? Apparently this occurs when I drag a JPG onto the AI program or Dock icon. The import works fine, puts the JPG in a new AI document --which is exactly what I want to do-- but activates no profile.

Oct 23, 2012I have a script using the dynamic content plugin from illustrator which takes and XML file and replaces it with a new one. All linked text/symbol/image links have their paths updated or text content updated.
The problem I have is I have background images which are not dynamic so I need to relink these based on their file path.
We have two shares, an OPI & an FPO, because of the size of backgrounf images we keep the FPO links in whilst artworking.
What I'd like to do is relink all images if they contain FPO in their file path, I'm in CS5.1. I had a look and found CS6 has a .relink method but obviosuly this is no use to me in CS5.1
Illustrator :: Find And Replace Simple Action Crashes CC?
Jan 29, 2014I am now trying Creative Cloud and I came with this bug. When I use a simple action to find and replace a text string in my file it will crash the Illustrator.
My actions is pretty simple:
Find > "aa" (I do have to check all the options to work)
Find and Replace > "aa" to "2014.01.29"
This action works well if I use it once by the Edit menu, but if I close the Illustrator and reopen, it'll not work again and will crash the software. Everyday I do update my action to actual date, so the action will work normally but sometimes I do have to close the app and I have to make the action again and again everytime.
This was a problem already in CS5, last version that I used. I'm using Windows 8.

There is an excellent script available for Photoshop which allows you to not only replace words in layer names, but also insert words as Prefixes, Suffixes and Sequential Numbers. The illustrator version of this script only allows sequential numbering: It doesn't offer find and replacing of words.
Ideally, it would be great if there was something that could do multiple find and replaces in one go:
(E.g.
You have layers like this Car, Dog, Bat
You enter: car(Option1), dog(Option2), Bat(Option3)
Your layers then become: Option1, Option2, Option3).
