I want to send the contents of A1 to an Illustrator document at 135, 172 and B1 to 135,190, same with A2/B2 will be at different coordinates as will A3/B3 and so on... I want to do this 6 times and save the document as a PDF. Then, it should clear and do it again. The columns will ALWAYS be A and B.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to embedd data in a table so that a user can select from a group of data within one cell?
I use this technique quite often in Excel. One cell in a table can have various values: A, B, C, or D. While another cell can have a different set of values to choose from: BLUE, RED, ORANGE, or PURPLE. The user can pull down an arrow (similar to a dynamic block) and choose from a set list of values.
How to import data from excel (from particular cell) to AutoCAD Drawing. I have already Created a template for both Excel and AutoCAD. I want to do Whenever i am changing the datas in excel sheet corresponding changes to be done in AutoCAd drawing.
I am using AutoCAD 2010 and Microsoft excel 2007.
(Again) Switching the “data type” of the cell,I’m not sure why the AutoCAD doesn't allow changing the “data type” of the cell in the table for already existing data. For example, in the attached table, I wanted to switch the “data type” from “decimal number” to “percentages”, but sounds that the AutoCAD doesn’t allow this function.
In the Excel, for example, we can switch the “data type” easily by selecting the target cells and choosing the format we need! Quite simple, in the AutoCAD, it seems that it needs some work around!
How can I copy existing (in the drawing) text / mtext into a table cell? I found programming solutions but I want to do it manually (one time job).
I tried Copy / Paste but it does not seem to work.
I struggled for a while this morning with trying to data link to a large door schedule in Excel. After several failures, I searched online for answers, and read in another forum that AutoCAD won't data link to more than 2000 cells.
My door schedule is about 2050 cells now, and will be about 4000 when done. I defined a set of about 1,000 cells in the Excel spreadsheet, and AutoCAD linked to it no problem. So, I tend to believe the poster who stated the 2000 cell limit, but I can't find this.
I would like to be able to retreive data from a sepcified cell, in a specified worksheet, from an excel file.
I don't have any clue how to connect to an excel file and read the data. Most seems to think you already had an understanding but I'm starting from the beginning.
I have object data attached to some linework and I want to copy that data to some new entities. Is it possible to copy object data from one entity to another with out having to fill in the table again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just completed the import of a large number of images into LR 4.1. The images all have GPS data and it was processed correctly. For many of the images, LR also correctly processed the 'sublocation' fields in the map module.
For example, LR completed the city, etc. as Oban, Scotland, United Kingdom. However, none of this information appears in the metadata - either within LR or reading the ITPC data after export as a jpg file. Only the GPS coordinates are retained.
If I am understanding the process and reading the data correctly, how would one use the location data that LR provides?
Is there a way to copy 'sublocation' to fields in the ITPC for the image? Could it be copied to the caption field?
If there is no way to record the location data, why would Adobe add it to LR?
I have been asked to do a workshop away from our offices and have been issued with a laptop.
My only issue is that I would like to copy all my settings, workspaces (including toolbars), plotter settings and drawing template files (.dwt) files from my desktop to the laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo here's the problem: I am working for a photo journalist/traveling photographer moving his 8tb database into Lightroom 4.Now, for whatever reason, he wants the ISPC-metadata headline, the title, and the caption to be same for each picture. What I mean by that is not simply giving every picture the same exact name, but rather have a picture with the headline "Machu Pichu during Sunset" also have the title ""Machu Pichu during Sunset" and the caption "Machu Pichu during Sunset". So far I've done copy and paste between those boxes (I usually only have a headline) for every single picture, but as you might imagine, with 8tb, this will drive you absolutely insane. What I'd like is to have is some sort of Metadata preset telling Lightroom to just take the headline and copy and paste it to title and caption. Is there any way that is possible? This would really save me tons of completely redundant work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe're working on a project which is causing me to question our management "system" (more like lack there-of). There are about 4 Existing Surfaces and 3 Design surfaces, and a half dozen or so drawings needed to show the various elements of this construction project. In the past we've done either copy and paste to show the same surface in different layouts or had a number of layout tabs. (Which quickly get pretty annoying if you're trying to show too much "different stuff" in each layout.
Looking at Data Shortcuts...we've never used them. When we have to make last minute changes everything automatically "updates" right? And the drawings should load faster and crash less because they're not so huge, right? The only Major Drawback I see is this: we use one person's workstation as the server" so two of us refer to the M drive path and one refers to the C drive path. Would this just screw everything up as it does when we have xref images? (Have to relocate the file path every single time the C drive person saves the file in order to see the image) I understand using "relative path" should fix this, but I haven't had much success with it.
And LandXML export/import, what exactly is the difference between this and a Data Shortcut?
I have a nice image that has lost the red channel histogram data for about half of the image. It can still be viewed, and the preview is correct.
Can I copy the histogram data from the red channel of the non-corrupt portion of the image? I know it's the red channel because when I open the color data from the corrupted portion the red channel is literally non-existant.
I am currently using Lightroom 4.4
Recently I have been asked for certain images taken in 2011.
When searching for them I have discovered that the original capture information has been "gone missing / become lost".
For clarity, the information I'm referring to is the ACTUAL capture date and time of the original image as appears in the raw file metadata.
This data no longer appears on ANY of the subsequent version of any image taken in that year whether PSD or Jpeg. From checks already carried out, the data remains on the original RAW files.
All other years are OK.How can I transfer the date & time of the original image capture from the raw file to subsequents copies (PSD / Jpegs etc)? As literally hundreds of images are involved, is there a bulk routine that I can perform to synchronise this data?
I found a lisp to get block attribute data to a other block. See attachment. I can only apply it to one block. I like to apply it to selected blocks or blocks in a group. Is this possible?

I have a user that is having a problem with two particular drawings within AutoCAD.
drawing 1 is 4MB
drawing 2 is 17MB
I believe he is attempting to copy some data from drawing 2 to drawing 1.
*nearly* Everytime he opens these two files and switches to 'Model' autocad crashes displaying the message -
--------------------------- AutoCAD LT Alert ---------------------------
AutoCAD LT cannot continue. You can attempt to save changes into the following file up to the start of the last command: S:****************
After you save your changes, you can open or recover the file.
Should AutoCAD LT try to save your changes?

I need to get the values(textstrings) of some AutoCAD table cells into a string array, but I am having troubles. I have the proper table and I can get the contents of individual cells using acTable.Cells(1, 1).TextString, etc... but I cannot seem to remember how to get each cell value into an array.
See code below:
For Each acCell As Cell In acTable
If acCell.TextString > Nothing Then
strArray() = acCell.TextString 'Does not work
End IfNext
trying to print a square image in lightroom (12x12)..followed tutorials online for this through adobe. However, when putting in the cell sizes in the layout area of the print module, what actually appears in the cell is not as specified.

These are the numbers/percentages that appear at the top of the column once it's been generated so you can see that is was say 50% or 60%.
We have adobe design suite installed in MAC OSX 10.7 and this crashes often and also deletes the data. Enclosed is the snapshot of the error.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using AI to import anatomical tracing data (paths and symbols). The data coordinates are in millimeters. I create an artboard as follows:
The file import code reads the data and then passes the bounds data to the art routine, CreateDataArt, as minv and maxv. As can be seen (abRect) the bounds of the data are 13 mm wide by 14 mm top to bottom. Two paths are then drawn into the artboard as shown here:
Note that the rulers are in millimeter units and that the art board is nowhere the correct size.
I received files from a freelance designer in Illustrator CS5 format, but my company only has CS4. Although she saved the files for CS4, I still have problems with data loss, for example all the text is broken up into separate text blocks, the layers are lost, the items are all in a clipping masks, objects are randomly grouped together, etc. is there any way to convert the file without data loss?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm laying out a report with many graphs of similar styling, the client is to provide an Excel doc with the figures and I need to redraw them as graphs. Is it possible to design the graph style in Illustrator, import the data from the spreadsheet to the graph and then place the graph(s) into InDesign. Essentially, this is what I'd like to achieve:
1) Style/design a graph in Illustrator
2) Import spreadsheet data into Illustrator graph (a step I'm also haveing problem with - is it possible to import an entire Excel doc or do you have to copy and paste each cell individually)
3) Import Illustrator graph into Indesign
4) If original data in Excel is changed/updated and the document is saved, data will update in Illstrator and therefore in InDesign.
I would like to open a file dialog box seltect a CSV text file saved from Excel and import this into an array/variable/dataset in adobe illustrator using javascript. Have done some work with javascript but not a power user. Can't work out how to get the open dialog to appear.
Long term aim would be to use the data to plot a path which seems straighwforward enough, its the getting the info in bit I'm stuck on.
You do have to be able to select the file to import, this bit quite important.
