I made a really awesome logo in Adobe Illustrator earlier today and wanted to share it with my friends, but I didn't know how since none of them had Illustrator. Then I remembered that I once opened a PNG file in Illustrator, so I tried to save it as a PNG.
In case you haven't already guessed, my efforts were in vain. Is there anyway that I can convert an .ai to a .png?
I designed artwork for a large banner (84" x 32") so my AI artboard is that large. As you can imagine, with all the text and graphics I used, this file size is 22.8 MB. I need to email this art to the printer, but the file size is too large to email. How do i go about reducing the file size in AI so it still maintains large format print resolution? Will saving to a PDF lose the print quality?
I'm woring on a custom textile design that needs to be printed on fabric within the CAD-generated garmet production pattern.
The garmet pattern was created in the CAD progrom PAD.
PAD exports .dxf and .txt files. The dxf file imports into AI as text and code. The .txt file is unusable. It's scale is skewed and important information is missing from the file.
I'm working in AI 5.5 on a Mac. I've imported .dxf files from other cad progrms like Optitex no problem.
PAD exports .dxf AAMA. I need to import this into AI, and the AI forums say Illustrator can read .dxf files.
I have 14000 Freehand mx file and need to be able to open them in Illustrator cs6.... how can I convert them to ai files ... I do not have CS4 or CS5....
theres this client of mine who accepts work only in corel draw format n I have tried importing expanding and saving saving in different formats etc but nothing seems to work I have a lot of artwork with drow shadow transparency clipping mask and objects filled with patterns I made these are the effects I find extremely difficult to import in corel draw working half in illustrator n half in corel draw is annoyingly time consuming.
I need to convert a layered psd file to a vector file but have never used illustrator (cs5). Looking for the steps I need to accomplish this? It is a logo I've created that is all white on a transparent background. I'm on a mac, OS 10.7.4
i have a deadline approaching to create a brochure. I have been using illustrator to create my page designs using a combination of photography and vector work and was wondering if i select everything within the document and convert to cymk wether this has indeed converted everthing including the Photos. I was also wondering is it best to save my files as PDF's before importing into Indesign to reduce file size or will the quality be better if an ai. file? It is a 200 page brochure and i am the sole designer as an intern at a travel company
When converting a vector or Illustrator file (such as a logo) into a shape layer any gradient fill is lost. Is there no way to ensure the gradient fill is converted across or is this a matter for a future release of After Effects?
A client has asked me if I can give them a .nc file so they can directly input into their cnc machines.
I know that I can save an autocad drawing, or objects in a drawing, as a .DXF file. I also know that i can purchase, or obtain an open-source version of, software that will then convert the .DXF file to a .nc file. Currently, my company does not do 3-d models. I have not dealt with this before, so, I am wondering if my drawings will need to be 3-d in order for the .nc code to be correctly read.
I have a file (sample attached) that I need to be able to open in CorelDRAW X5. I was told that the file was created in Corel something, then modified in AI. When I open or import it, I get garbage.
I recently designed a logo for a client that included both a gradient and transparency. I flattened the transparency, expanded the strokes and embedded the text before saving a copy of it in .eps and another in .pdf (PDF/x-1a:2003)
When I opened both files in Preview, I found these two problems:
I didn't have this problem when I saved the file in other formats (.jpg, .png) Also, while I'm here, is PDF/x-1a:2003 preset optimized specifically for printing?
I'd like to purchase a website template online which denotes that I'd have to use Adobe Illustrator, Freehand, or CorelDRAW to implement it. There's just one problem - I can't use any of these programs. As a matter of fact, I would like to use the template that I found with a "drap and drop" website builder, as opposed to coding. I was thinking, "What if i could covert an entire Ai file to a folder of PNG's?" ..then I could just manually build my website using those PNG's. Is this type of conversion even possible?.
I can't seem to figure out why the illustrator file opens blank if photoshop. I tried converting to EPS and PDF and even Ai CS3 but the file is opening blank. The pdf file also saved as blank document.
I have a website Inspire2rise dot com . I recently came across a beautiful PSD file that I wanted to apply to my site's design. My site is based on WordPress. Is there any tool for converting the psd file to WordPress compatible theme?
I have completed a project with lots of layers and saved as a psd file including all the layers. I then flatten the image and save it as a jpeg. The jpeg doesn't look at all like the original psd. this is the only file I have ever had that has done this. no other files are currently doing it. Just this one important days to complete file.I work with Mac OS 10.6.8 Photoshop CS6 - Raw file to begin with. Never had this issue.
I am using Corel X5 in Windows 7 OS having 4GB RAM with Intel Core i3 processor. When I converting cdr file to PDF with prepress PDF preset will resulted a crashed PDF file. But with 'web' PDF preset may results fine. But the resolution goes high or custom , output is a crashed file.
Question about taking an eps file and changing it to a dxf, I have another question. I downloaded and registered the Ghostgum software and also the pstoedit software to change the logo I have as an eps file into something I can import into CAD as a dxf. But it won't let me do it. I have searched the help menu in the ghostgum software for a solution but nothing seems to be working. A warning dialogue box comes up saying the interpreter seems to have failed and cannot proceed. I am attaching a copy of the logo I am trying to convert.
I'm not sure it's possible but I'm trying to batch convert a bunch of RAW (NEF) files to JPG. Altering the file extension in bridge doesn't seem to work. Although it does convert the file name, photoshop does not recognise the file format when trying to open the jpg.
Is this process possible or is there a way I should be doing this? I have 300 RAW files and don't really want to open each one up individually and convert to jpg.
I have been working with an optimization software the exports DXF files to be meant for use in AutoCad. But I am working with Autodesk Revit and the only jobs you can open in Revit are RVT, RFA, RTE and ADSK files. How do I open up the DXF images in Autodesk Revit?
I am making a sign for a customer. They have decided they want me to include their logo which was created by someone else who saved the logo as an eps file. Is there a way to convert the file to a dxf so I can manipulate the logo within my iam?
Basically the problem is we have converted a PDF drawings to DWG files. But the created file was very large like 50mb per file. When I tried to look at it in 3D view, it looks like a city.. but it is not solids and some lines are made from hatches. Before I remember we tried the flatten command to flatten the drawings but when I use the softwares that we have (from autodesk) it doesn't have that command. I searched the net for some solutions or an equivalent command for flatten but it doesn't solve the problem.
We create hundreds of large .AI-files (ranging from 10-100 MB in size) every few months, and before we can send them to our suppliers, we have to save them as PDF-files (both in order to reduce the size, but also to make sure our suppliers can open them). Now, the straight-forward answer is of course to open each file and export it to PDF manually.. But that takes way to long.
The files are saved on a server in a folder with several subfolders all containing ai-files.Is there a smart way to convert all the files from AI to PDF?
I wrote the following AppleScript to open a PDF file and export is as PNG. I am using Illustrator CS5.
The export command gets an error: Adobe Illustrator got an error: Can't get current document. when it encounters the export command.
set inputFile to (choose file with prompt "Open PDF file to convert to PNG:") as text set exportFile to inputFile & ".png" tell application "Adobe Illustrator" if not frontmost then activate open inputFile as alias without dialogs export current document to exportFile as PNG24 ¬ with options {class:PNG24 export options ¬ , resolution:300 ¬ , matte color:{red:0, green:0, blue:0}} close current document saving no end tell
I'm having trouble getting an image successfully into my vinyl cutting program. I open a black and white image into illustrator, I trace it, I paint a few more black lines that I need and then save it into svg or pdf. Once I import the image into my software it show all the brush strokes that I painted making it impossible to cut. Is there a way to make the image in illustrator all one image once painting it and making it decal cuttable?
I've been trying to export some CS4 Illustrator files to cad for laser cutting. Fab shops here use mostly Solidworks, but can use autocad. I'm selecting dfx/dwg in the export, and scaling to inches, even double checking the scaling is correct from a decimal measurment found on another forum thread, and it is-- but I've tried this about 8 times now with 2 different fab shops and they both say when they open the files the scaling is WAYYYY off, and there are breaks and "splines" all over that are disconnected.
here is the screen shot of the PSD which i converted into HTML. It is done with Slice select too. and i got this kind of error in output. so i want a way by which i can transform my psd designs the same way they look in to working website. the template goes other places
We receive art files here to work on. They've gone to a couple of different sources before we get them, so we really don't know how the file was originally saved. It gets emailed to us so that we can get it ready to send to the plate makers.
After opening the file, I save it as a Corel Draw file, then work on it. The problem starts when converting the Corel file to an AI file. The AI file now shows sections of letters filled in, like the letter o.
I have a autocad drawing that was clearly made from a 3D model. I cannot get the 3D file sent me. I was wonder how can I convert this drawing to a 3D file. Is anyway I can take the isometric view in the corner of the autocad drawing that i currently have and convert it to a 3D model.
