I am making a sign for a customer. They have decided they want me to include their logo which was created by someone else who saved the logo as an eps file. Is there a way to convert the file to a dxf so I can manipulate the logo within my iam?
View 2 RepliesQuestion about taking an eps file and changing it to a dxf, I have another question. I downloaded and registered the Ghostgum software and also the pstoedit software to change the logo I have as an eps file into something I can import into CAD as a dxf. But it won't let me do it. I have searched the help menu in the ghostgum software for a solution but nothing seems to be working. A warning dialogue box comes up saying the interpreter seems to have failed and cannot proceed. I am attaching a copy of the logo I am trying to convert.

I have to send one of my assemblies to a customer who has Solidworks I believe, so I thought I would just save the assembly as a step file, but when I try to do this it crashes my system probably due to the fact that I have quite a bit of embossing on one particular panel. Any other options?

I am trying to conver a DWG of a 747 to a IGES or STEP file, but when I go to do so the option export "cad format" is faded out and I cannot choose it. Is this b/c it is an educational version, or am I missing something?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy intention was to convert a 3DS-File into an IPN-File, to use it in Inventor.As I did not managed to do this in Inventor, I importet the 3DS-File in CATIA V5 and converted it into a CATIA-CatPart and from there in an IGES.Then I was able to open it in Inventor and made a IPN out of it.
The PROBLEM: The original 3DS-File had 700 kilobyte but the actual IPN 54 MegaByte !

After finishing a part in Inventor 2014 a want to store it as a STL file. Thats no problem but when the part is saved as STL it measurement don't add up any more. The STL file becomes a factor 10 smaller. So 50mm ends up as 5mm. So thats a problem.

But when I try to save as .sat file the files are saved in cloud which not able to save and use in inventor.
First we imported an ".igs" file to inventor, which produced "wires". Then by promoting the wires it produced a 3-d sketch.
The model is in one plane and 2-D, and we are trying to use Ansys 2-D analysis, but in-order to do so it needs to be in a 2-D sketch.

A client has asked me if I can give them a .nc file so they can directly input into their cnc machines.
I know that I can save an autocad drawing, or objects in a drawing, as a .DXF file. I also know that i can purchase, or obtain an open-source version of, software that will then convert the .DXF file to a .nc file. Currently, my company does not do 3-d models. I have not dealt with this before, so, I am wondering if my drawings will need to be 3-d in order for the .nc code to be correctly read.
I have been working with an optimization software the exports DXF files to be meant for use in AutoCad. But I am working with Autodesk Revit and the only jobs you can open in Revit are RVT, RFA, RTE and ADSK files. How do I open up the DXF images in Autodesk Revit?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically the problem is we have converted a PDF drawings to DWG files. But the created file was very large like 50mb per file. When I tried to look at it in 3D view, it looks like a city.. but it is not solids and some lines are made from hatches. Before I remember we tried the flatten command to flatten the drawings but when I use the softwares that we have (from autodesk) it doesn't have that command. I searched the net for some solutions or an equivalent command for flatten but it doesn't solve the problem.

I need to email this art to the printer, but the file size is too large to email. How do i go about reducing the file size in AI so it still maintains large format print resolution? Will saving to a PDF lose the print quality?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I use the CAD 'Plot Stamp' while converting a drawing to a PDF file (DWG to PDF), everything works as it should.
If I try to print it out on paper, it doesn’t work at all, even though it looks ok in the preview (however, if while in the preview, I try to zoom in on the Plot Stamp to see what's actually written, it disappears). Instead of being 'BR vertical' it's 'BR horizontal', It prints mostly out of the printable area and the text is a smaller size than specified.

Convert a GPS file (.ssf)? I am attempting to do this by converting the .ssf file, which contains GPS data point information into a DXF file. Then from the DXF file, I tried opening in AutoCadd Lt 2007, but nothing shows up on my screen. There are no layers turned on, frozen and I did a zoom extents, but its as if there is nothing in the file???
I was thinking that maybe I should try converting the .ssf GPS file into a DXF and then placing it into an DGN file.
I have a file from a suppliers website that comes in either STP or IGES files. I'm trying to convert it into an IPT to be useable in one of my models, but I don't seem to be having any luck with it. I don't convert many STP/IGS files, and most of the time when I do they just work without many issues.
I can get the model to look proper in this one, its just that working with it makes Inventor run incredibly slow. When I want to add an assembly to a drawing that is using this model, it takes several minutes just to place the view, removing the part and it works quickly again.

I'm trying to convert a 3D model saved as a .dwg in AutoCAD 2011 to a .stp file using Inventor Fusion Technology Preview. I did it once and it worked perfect. But since, every time I save the .dwg as a .stp in Fusion, it scales the object down to 39% of the original.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a brand new install of 2013 Product Design Suite Premium on a new machine. When I go to run Inventor everything seems to work fine. I make a drawing of a part and export to DWG. That's a requirement here. When I go to open the file in AutoCAD, the hatch pattern doesn't show and it looks like the boundaries for the hatch move to 0,0,0. Very stange and I haven't been able to figure this out. I installed Premium on another machine and performed the same export. Works fine on the other machine. The other machine however, has 2012 installed as well. Could this simply be a bad install?

Is it possible to convert 2D drawings from these other software to extensions that are compatible with Autodesk software? I'm running an earlier version of Inventor on my machine but it seems as though even those at our other locations running Autodesk 2013/2014 are having trouble converting 2D files properly.
