I have illustrator cs6 and when I try to put some text and save, it appears de message bellow: "An unknown error has occurred". This error only occur in my computer and also with a new file. I've tried opened the file in another computer and I can save with text. Is it something wrong with my computer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not able to save my files and illustrator gives the message 'An Unknown Error has occured'. In a previous discussion transparency is called out as the culprit however I am not using transparency in my document and have checked all the items. I have also tried copying the work into a new ai file however this also will not save. This is has happened to me about 5 times since I updated to CS6.
Update - I just closed Illustrator and lost all my work and then an Adobe update window showed up asking me to update Adobe Air. I recall an Adobe Update window appearing once before when I had problems solving. Could the Adobe update window interfere or prevent me from saving my documents?
We've been experiencing an issue with saving illustrator files (as .ai). The error message is "unknown error occurred" when attempting to save. Things tried already:
delete preferences file
uninstall/re-install CS6
standardize all fonts to arial
save in another location (desktop, network)
save as .eps
But still same.
This happens when copying components of one ai file to another and trying to save it. Found that removing one tiny piece from a drawing allows the save.There is no text in that piece, just lines and shading.
I recently upgraded to CS6 and cannot open any past files in CS6 from CS5. Everytime I try I Get "Unknown Error has Occurred"
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have both 32- and 64-bit versions of Adobe Illustrator CS6 The error occurs only with the 64-bit version,The error occurs only when saving files containing text objects.Unchecking "Create PDF Compatible File" doesn't solve the problem. Resetting Illustrator's settings also doesn't work.
It's pretty much time taking switching between the two versions and I also have files pretty big enough that require opening in the 64 bit version.
I'm using a macBook pro with retina display runing Mac OS X 10.8.3. When I try to use Brush libraries I get "an unknown error has occured".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had numerous application errors which result in the PS CS4 shutting down unexpectedly. 1 such error message: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occurred in the application 0x78138a8c". It happens repeatedly when I try and create Brushes, when I open normal jpg files, when I create new file. There seems to be no direct correlation between an action and a crash. (I have worked on CS2 with nothing like this ever happening.)

SOMETIMES when she tries to save an Illustrator file over top of an existing Illustrator file, or over top of an existing PDF that she opened in Illustrator, she gets the "Can't save the illustration. The file may be read only, or the file is in use by another application, or you do not have the required permissions. . . ID = -54"
We are saving it to a network location, and to answer the obvious questions - she has rights, the file is not read-only and no one else has it open. If we save the file to her desktop, we can then overwrite the file back on the original network location. If she reboots her computer, this usually clears the issue up for a few days/hours.
All available updates are loaded, and it seems others have the same issue, but I've never seen a good fix, other than save it to your desktop, and then overwrite the file.
Every time I export a C3D drawing to ACAD (command: _AecExportToAutoCAD20xx), I get this "error message"
There does not seem to be a real problem because I can open the exported drawing in vanilla AutoCAD OK, (although I do still get a proxy notice..?).
A few other older threads about this reveal no solution or confirmation that this dialog is a bug.

I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 and everytime I export a model to AutoCAD format I get the message:
"Warning and error occurred during save. We recommend that you run RECOVER on the drawing"
Although it usually finds one fault during Audit or Recover and fixes that, the message still persists in appearing every time I use the export function. Why this happens and how I can sort it out?
I have however come across a real doosey - with a meeting to show the work inside this corrupted file.. tomorrow morning! love it. I'm a junior and I'm afraid of the extent my balls are on the block with this hiccup.
Placing the file in a separate AI file wasn't a solution because I am such a messy worker (outside artboards) and could only obtain a small snippet of the overall file.
I also tried turning on file recovery in Preferences>Illustrator CS5.1 Settings and the file that was recovered was blank.
It may also be of use that I was working on this file on another computer before coming home, and spilling beer in shock, denial, and disgust that I had lost many many hours of work.

This error is reported when attempting to save an illustrator file over an existing file with the same name. Yes saving it to the desktop and then copying it over the file on the shared drive works. This is not a solution for us. Full access has been granted to the user on the network share being used.
why I'd get this error when doing an Export to AutoCAD 2010/2007/2004...? It seems to be innocuous, and irrelevant, but it's disturbing none-the-less. I haven't been able to identify any reason why it appears, and all drawings seem to work normally, with no problems. AUDITs turn up no errors. So I've just been ignoring this message, but it's distracting. And it doesn't always appear... although I haven't been able yet to identify what causes it to appear in some drawings, and not others. I think it only ever happens when there's an XREF, but not sure... (Maybe when an XREF is in an older version of C3D/LDD/AutoCAD...?)

I've trashed Photoshop pref... all of them.I've reinstalled the Mac OS 10.7.5 combo update.I've rebooted to a different drive and repaired disk and permissions (no issues found).I've Safe Booted.I've disabled ALL plug ins.
Uninstalling and will reinstall/update to see if that works.

Not funny. The problem started when I attempted to paste an template into a blank document. There was a conflict between swatches. I'm not sure how many there were, around 200 or so. View 9 Replies View RelatedJust a heads up on an old issue which still exists in the burning module of X4. Apparently nothing has been updated from X2 other than reintegrating it with the editing software. Unspecified is maddeningly vague but If you get this message during the authoring stage it may be due to a glitch in some of the menu templates. I have found that using certain menu templates if you uncheck the "motion menu" box it will crash the production at the final stage with this message occurring. If this happens you must leave the motion menu box checked (which is the template default) even though you aren't using a motion menu. It appears to have no effect on the finished product. I have found this glitch with a number of the text menu templates that I like to use. I know it took me some effort to figure this out back in X2.
