Illustrator :: Why Color Change When Copy From Doc A To B
Feb 26, 2013
I am using Adobe Creative Cloud - Illustrator CS6. I am having an strengh issue here while I want to copy an image (Rasters From imported Maps) and paste it to new doc the image original color change to chaeper color! As you can see from the following image:
When I copy artwork from an Illustrator CS6 RGB file and paste it as a smart object into Photoshop CS6 the colors are changing slightly. Here's an example:
RGB 234, 76, 52 (original color in Illustrator artwork) RGB 233, 75, 52 (color of smart object pasted into Photoshop)
Why the color is changing? I need the color to be an exact match.
I have CS6 Creative Suite and the applications are synchronized using the same color settings (North America General Purpose 2). I've tried using both proccessed and spot colors in Illustrator but have the same issue with both.
I have a question regarding illustrator. Let's say I have a circle with blue fill and red stroke. And I place an image in the illustrator file. Now I want to change the red stroke of my circle to let's say a purple color by sampling the color from the image.
How can I achieve that with a eye dropper tool? Every time when I try to sample a color from the image, the whole circle will change to purple instead of just the stroke? I have tried multiple key combination, shift, alt, ctrl but they all don't work.
Anytime I use the tool to copy a color, the entire format copies and changes the look of the object I already have selected. Is there a way to set my preferences so I only copy color with the Eye Dropper tool?
Somehow I've turned off the color selection so that I don't have a color when I select a part of a drawing on a layer. The drawing area stays black whether I have selected it or not and I don't know how to turn back on the color.
how I can turn on the color again so that when I select a line it changes from black to red or magenta or whatever?
We are having problems with text in Illustrator CS6.
1. When we copy / paste text within illustrator all color information is lost. 2. When we save documents in Illustrator CS6 then re-open text with color attributes changes to different random colors!!
For example: If we save an Illustrator document with a paragraph of text that is part red and part black when we re-open the same paragraph might be all gray, or orange or (you pick a color).
For this example let's take in account that I have 2 identical in every aspect copies (meaning size and content at this point) of the very same image.
1st remains unedited,
2nd is edited only as far as concerning the image > adjustments menu through changing mostly channel mixer, selective color, saturation etc values and had an object attached to it atop of the original depiction before being edited as a whole.
What I want to do is to edit the 1st image, compare in some certain ways the colors of it I guess with the ones of the 2nd, match for instance where color hex value X (and horizontal/vertical X,Y coords - is it needed in order to be more precise and avoid mistakes?) (I guess again) from the 1st image is edited into color (or even additional settings atop of that?) hex value Z, do that automatically for all the combinations and immediately apply the same changes I applied from 2nd pic when unedited (and looked exactly like 1st pic) to the very same 2nd pic in start, TO the 1st pic in the present case. Also in order to do this "color matching" before applied or not I need to set out-seperate the area where I have added an additional object in the 2nd picture and fill it possibly with the original content from the 1st(can it be done in one move) in order for the process to be complete?
That means I turned the 2nd image into a combination of blue-green-red colour (and other) from orange-yellow-cyan (just an example) I want to do the very same to my 1st pic which is orange-yellow-cyan etc.
I'm using Illustrator 6 on Windows with the latest SDK.My plugin changes the colors of paths and text.I have a single word of text specified as a spot color, it comes though in the code as a kTextFrameArt...I am using the following code to change the text color, but it has no effect,
//textArt is a AIArtHandle ATE::TextRangeRef textRangeRef; AIErr err = sAITextFrame->GetATETextRange( textArt, &textRangeRef ); if ( err == kNoErr ) { } [code]....
In order to change the color of the artwork I got file>document setup, I tick the simulate color paper option in the transparency oprions of the window. From there i choose the color of my choice.
Suppose for example that the color of the artwork is red, then if I have a vector object which is white, then, its color appears to be red, as that of the artwork. Why the above happens.I want to have the artwork a color other that white so that I can draw white objects in it.Here is an image/example where the artwork is orange and the icon is NOT white as I want it and expected to be:
When I'm opening an Illustrator cs file for a while back in Illustrator cs5, the colors change. When I try to open the cs file (eps) in Photoshop cs5, the colors change too. What setting am I missing? The document color mode is set on cmyk. Is it something inside of color settings?
I have a large (22"x28") poster completely filled with 8 pt text. I have a simple image under the text. I want to change the parts of the text over the image to the image color. Basically, I want to make the image out of the tiny text and delete the image from the background. As of right now, I'm individually selecting text and changing the color, bit by bit. I know there has to be a much better way, this is going to take hours! I've been using AI for a very long time and this is one of the only times I've been completely stumped! I've included a sample image, the actual one is much more involved.
I bought an image from shutterstocks... But when I change a colour, it all turns in monochrome colour. My Ai (CS6) knowledge is very limited, so I do not know what to Google "How to..."
I would say that in a moment I change colour Ai understands that I colour in borders and all lines overlaps each other... However, I do not colour borders...
Image is very complex pattern and I believe it is somehow related with image production... The image does not appear as it looks like - everything is over layered with cut-outs of object above... But it is beyond my knowledge...
I have tried to ungroup but with same results... How to manipulate this image?
how and if i can change the default color model in illustrator (in the color panel), which is RGB to something else ? (i think colors in HSB and it's a bit annoying changing that every time) i looked it up and couldn't find out.
I'm in OS X 10.8.3 working in Illustrator CS6. I have a MacBook Pro hooked up to a calibrated NEC PA271W monitor.
I've been working on some CMYK design documents with a mix of process and Pantone. All art was created in Illustrator and is vector. Everything was going fine, colors looked great and super-accurate as they always do with this monitor. Then...
I was exporting my design to PDF via Save a Copy. As I always do for PDFs I'm sending to a client for review, I chose to convert the colors to destination sRGB in the PDF options dialogue so they can be reviewed on screen.
Upon viewing the PDF using QuickLook in the Finder, I noticed that—rather than being converted to sRGB and looking pretty-close to the CMYK AI file—the PDF was extremely dull as if all colors had been desaturated 50%.
I tried other variations of the export and could not get the colors to look right (note: I did the exact same exports many times over the last week and they always looked great). Finally, I restarted my comp thinking perhaps it was just a temporary bug.
Upon opening my design file back up in Illustrator -- all the elements in the design file itself as we'll as ALL color palettes within illustrator had the same horrible desaturated look! CMYK proof preview was not turned on it affects all files, even those that worked perfectly in the past. I didn't knowingly change any settings in Illustrator (is there a make-all-colors-look-grayed-out shortcut I don't know about?!).
Things I've tried: Trashed all custom color profiles and re-calibratedTrashed all ColorSync prefs and cacheRan ColorSync validation on all profiles, fixed those with problemsChecked that CS6 color was synchronizedChecked that all profiles on documents were correct (though I knew it wasn't this because of the random nature of the change.Restarted my Mac a bunch of times.Ran Onyx automated cleaning.
how do I change color in a selection and not globally? My company uses Freehand currently and there is an option to find and replace color in a selection instead of the entire document. I need to figure out how to do this in Illustrator as we will be switching over shortly.
I am trying to change the color of all items on and under a specific layer.I have been successful changing the color of specific types of objects (paths), but I need to accommodate all the types on the layer and sub layers.
I can recurse to as many sub layers as I expect, but how do I accommodate the page Items, path Items, group Items, compound Path Items, etc.I was thinking of pushing everything to an array, but I have no experience with arrays...
I would like to change the gradient on the attached to a darker yellow. How do I complete this change in color? I see that I can click on Color and an eyedropper appears but that doesn't get me to the existing colors so that I can change to bit darker yellow.
I've been having this problem for a while with Illustrator CC but not with older versions. If I use the eyedropper to pick up a color, it captures that color and acts like it is applied but object/text continues to stay the older color. With text I have to use the type tool, highlight all of the text, and then select a color. This process if very annoying when I need to highlight and change several text boxes at once. I would like to just be able to click on the object/text and use the eyedropper tool to capture whatever color I need.
