I am trying to set the hot spot for a PNG cursor in a CS6 plugin (Windows) I have searched for a solution but I can't find one. So far I am able to set the cursor using sAIUser->SetCursor() but I don't know how to set its hot spot. Any example of how to set the hot spot of a PNG cursor?
View 2 RepliesI don't use the Color Sampler Tool much, but In checking something for another thread, I noticed the cursor now seems inconsistent with the cursors of the other tools.Basically, I expected it to drop the sampler on the little crosshair, and it dropped it instead at the end of the dropper.
This used to make sense, and it's still consistent with the Eyedropper cursor (and with prior versions of Photoshop). But I find that now I've gotten used to the other new cursors, most of which now define the hot spot at the upper-left, it didn't do what was expected.
In Xcode, we have to define cursor as:

View 33 Replies View RelatedI have a frustrating problem in CS3 that when writing a block of text, either with text tool or area text tool, that the cursor disappears. I need to see its new position after using the space bar or tab: ready to input the next piece of text.
It seems to be flashing some of the time if I click into the middle of the text block, but disappears where I want to continue it at the bottom of the text block?
I'm in Illustrator 5.5 and my cursor is stuck on the pencil tool. I can't change the tool with either my mouse or hot keys. I can't even select all my artwork to paste into a new file.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI know I've been able to do it before, but now when I put the selection arrow (black arrow) into a line of type by double clicking, I am unable to then drag the cursor to select the row of type. Triple clicking does nothing.
In other words, double clicking with the selection tool places the cursor in a word, but how to then highlight the word??
In Preferences, it doesn't matter if the 'Double Click to Isolate' box is checked or not and the 'Object Selection by Path Only' is unchecked.
I know it's something simple.
For the past 2 months I've been using a Yiynova 10.1 tablet to design in Illustrator CS6. Later today I have an issue where the cursor would be on place but immediately move to a random area on screen. It is quick and I can keep my pen to point where I need to. However, everytime when I do close Illustrator the tablet seems to work perfectly. Photoshop and other programs seem to respond well with the pen and tablet, but Illustrator doesn't. I have ran a windows compatibility to all previous versions of windows and there are no results. I have reinstalled my Illustrator CS6 and the tablet doesn't want to play well still.

However, it's driving me CRAZY because the type and shape cursors are a super small and a light gray in color. It's very difficult for me to track the cursor with my eyes when it is small and gray on a gray and white artboard. Is there some way to make the cursors more easily visible? As far as I can tell, this is only an issue in Illustrator.

I understand that Adobe's JavaScript Toolkit would let you build a progress-bar dialog, but the delays are rarely long enough to justify such a thing. All the same, a change of cursor would reassure users (and not just me!) that things were indeed happening.
There is a small black box that follows the cursor around when you are repositioning an object with the mouse (click+drag). It is often covering an area that I need to see in order position something correctly.

I don't see an option anywhere in preferences, nor is there an option to hide these labels in the View menu.

I regularly have to edit text within a grid of lines in illustrator. I can replace/edit text zoomed out, but when I try the cursor automatically changes to the type on a path tool. I then have to zoom in, edit text, zoom back out thousands of times a day. It would save me a bunch of time if I could set the type tool to ignore paths and only select text.
I could take the grid of lines on the files I'm working on and send them to back and lock them, but I am dealing with tens of thousands of files, and it's just not practical.
Any way to get rid of type on a path, or at least prevent Illustrator from automatically switching to that tool when I hover the type tool over a path?

How can i put cursor in ScriptUI edittext form?
My cursor appears and disappears while in GIMP as I move the cursor over the canvas. I can make the cursor appear but only if there is no movement of the cursor. It makes no difference which tool I select, the size of the canvas, or the level of zoom.
Please note that this only occurs in Gimp, and none of my other applications. It started when I upgraded from openSUSE 12.1 to 12.2. I'm assuming that it has something to do with my input device configuration, but I could be totally wrong.
I have a total of 3 input devices - Core Pointer, Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse, and Virtual Core XTEST Pointer. Both the Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer are DISABLED. Core Pointer is the only one enabled. Enabling Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer give me other problems in Gimp and need to remain disabled.
For the Core Pointer, Mode is set to SCREEN, a message says that 'The axis X has no curve', and the following Axis Settings:

Apparently the issue has been happening since as far back as CS2. The flashing text cursor is only visible in the upper left hand portion of the screen. If the text your are attempting to edit is on the far right or bottom of the screen, the cursor vanishes. Some people have suggested zooming in and out, but this only appears to solve the problem because the art board may get nudged into the "good" portion of the screen. I did a screen shot and found that the cursor is only visible in about a 930p x 600p area of the window (not including toolbars). Incindentally, the is the same size that the window defaults to when initially opened. On a HD monitor, this amounts to a very small space.

I don't want to have to be within two pixels or so to be able to highlight or grab an anchor point. I've tried upping the selection tolerance to 8 px and it hasn't appeared to do anything.

I use windowsXP and Illustrator CS3.
Since a few versions (I have Illustrator CC), my cursor in Illustrator input fields flashes extremely fast when i drag the cursor over such field. This could be a regular text input field or anything similar where you can type in something or adjust a value by clicking and dragging.
What happens is that the cursor changes to the Illustrator cursor and then back to the Windows arrow cursor in an extremely fast manner. It happens so fast, that it completely slows down the mouse interaction and the cursor movement lags behind my interaction.
I have Win 7 x64 with the newest display drivers. This problem occurs only in Illustrator and Flash.
I use tabs in my document for indentation. When my cursor is at the beginning of a line, and I use the up/down keys, the cursor always jumps to the end of the first tab.
This only happens in tab-indent, not space-indent.
Is this supposed to be a "feature"? How can I make it stay at the same cursor position when navigating with arrow keys?
I've relaunched and tried re-installing Illustrator CC twice and didn't solve this unexpected crash problem. It has never happened since I paid for this software months ago.
Illustrator won't crash when:
- using the keyboard arrows to manually move any path or drawn shapes/ objects
- using my wireless mouse to draw objects/ new paths from clipboards, colour boards etc.
Illustrator CRASHES when:
- using my wireless mouse and macbook's touchpad mouse to move any new or old drawn paths/ objects/ shapes/ lines etc.
In my Opinion - ROOT OF PROBLEM:
- Wirelss and macbook's touchpad mouse cursor causees it to hang then crash 1 minute later.
Why would my mouse cursor suddenly be the cause of this crash problem when it was working fine all along?
