View 2 RepliesI can't change to bold or italic versions of a font. Even when it is included in the options for a font.
It will show the preview of the change, but when I select it, the display goes back to the vanilla version.
I typicaly use romans for my text, however it doesnt allow you to bold or use italics.
Is there a way to change this, or is there a font that is very similar that will let you bold and italic?
when i converting my arial font to curve it automatically convert to Italic i have replace my arial font from other machine as well but still the same issue.
i am using Corel Draw X6 which is updated
Os Win 7 (updated)
I have a macro to set text attributes. The code I use is shown below and works fine.
Some fonts have attributes with other names such as 'Black', 'Black-Italic', 'Normal-Italic' etc. I would like to be able to set these attributes.
Set s1 = ActiveLayer.CreateArtisticText(0, Position, "X")
Set txt = s1.Text.Story.Paragraphs(1)
txt.Bold = True
txt.Italic = True
After opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.
Is there a way to specify a given system font that should be substituted for a given missing font? For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed the new OSX update, Mavericks. Hadn't noticed anything weird in its running, except that when I went to run Photoshop my most commonly used font, Lucida Handwriting Italics was missing. It's still in my font book on my Mac, so that's not the issue, but it's like Photoshop just doesn't recognize it. I tried downloading another copy, but my font book said that I had duplicates and I had to disable the newly downloaded one. I need this particular font for my job.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using Corel X6 on Windows 8 (64bit),
I am facing some problem with few font series. Like the series of fonts called "Heavenetica" has turned italic.
Nothing happens even if I click Italic option again, I tried un-installing and re-installing the fonts, but still the same. The same fonts work and look fine in other software.
I recently upgraded to windows 8, this problem was not there in corel X6 in windows 7.
I looked all over, yet I haven't found a way to make text Bold, Underlined or Italic in the Gimp!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know the Find/Change tool is quite powerful within Indesgn but I was wondering if there is a way for it to find all text wraped in “ ” and make them italic
I have two 10,000 word documents filled with quotes and I was thinking an automated process maybe more accurate than be skimming it and doing it manually.
When I am editing text, GIMP will no longer apply italic nor bold effects. (Underline works though.)
I just upgraded from 2.8(.2?) to 2.8.6, and now I have this problem. I also just upgraded from Win XP to WIn 7 and upgraded from 32-bit to 64-bit, so I don't know if that is a factor.
I have files I created with the last version of GIMP that I can open and see the text properly formatted, but if I adjust the text the formatting disappears and WILL NOT come back.
GIMP won't print anymore either. My printer is set up correctly and I can print from other programs, but when I print from GIMP, it LOOKS like it went through, but the printer fails to do anything. I wind up having to tell GIMP to print to the microsoft xps writer (which DOES work) and then open the xps file I just made and have windows print it.
I tried Nexus font (finally) and don't see why people have mentioned it. I don't like it and uninstalled it quickly.Which font manager do you think is better than Font Nav?
View 13 Replies View RelatedFontNav X6 64bit is wrongly detecting italic fonts as duplicates of others?
My details:X6 installed on newly delivered 64 bit win 7 professional (with all available windows updates).Asked fontnav to find fonts from D:UsersPublicDocumentsCorelContent X6Fonts (as installed from X6 DVD).The catalogue shows at most two fonts from each family of four:
Going to file > Settings > Duplicate Fonts shows the reason: the regular and italic versions of the font have been improperly detected as duplicates of each other.
It applies equally to the fonts on the Corel CD and those already installed in windows, including standard fonts such as Times New Roman.

I installed ACAD LT 2011 in my new HP Win7 computer, and the font in the Layer Properties Manager box is so large that it is unreadable. I have attached a file showing a 'print screen'. I need directions on how to put the text back to normal size. I had no problems with this program in my old Dell computer.

I'm surprised I'm not finding this in the menu's, etc.Since I need each text to scale properly from it's own location, I cannot simply scale everything from one base point.

View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing photoshop CS6 on Mac, I am seeing a problem with one of my batch processing sript who's only task is to apply an embossed water mark to images which I have resized such that the longest side is always 500px. (short side varies depending on how I have cropped).
In most cases, the piece of text I am adding to the image appears fine. But then for no apparent reason, it will suddenly apply the text (which I have set to 24pt) and it is way to big. To address the issue, I have to reduce the font size (via the actions pallate) down as far as 8 pt. Then it starts to appear more or less correctly (for a while) until maybe a few weeks later when I open up photoshop to run the job again and suddenly 8 pt font is WAY too small and I have to bump it up to 24 pt again.
The issue that I'm having is when I select my font and type on my project the letters will show up in the layer menu but not in my project. Wondering how I can fix this issue
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if there is a Font Preview plugin available that will do what Illustrator SHOULD HAVE done for many years - which is to actually allow you to toggle through your font list and display the text you entered in the fonts you are clicking through - - kind of like what CorelDraw has had for the last 15 years.
Imagine that... being able to review text in a selected font to facillitate the selection of an appropriate visual reference for logos, etc. Earth-shaking, I know.it seems there would be an Illustrator plugin by now that would do this???
Or do I have to continue to have CorelDraw opened up so that I can review text in various fonts to determine the best choice for a given project font?
I'm trying to write a script that renames a layer, and group within the layer, then an object within the layer (but not a part of the group) and have it run in a loop.
Here's what I've got so far, the group rename doesn't work.
#target Illustrator
var doc = app.activeDocument;
idLayers(doc)//IRename layers
idGroups(doc)//Rename groups
function idLayers(doc){
[code]....
I haven't put in anthing to rename the single object yet since I cant even get the group rename to work. I suspect that the group re-name section isn't working because I'm either using bad syntax or an invalid command.
In AI CS5 Version 15.0.2 for Windows 7 64-bit; Is it possible to hide a hierarchal layer from one that is lower in the layer stack? I would like to make visible one of the bottom layers and hide a layer near the top that is on a separate artboard.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time that I open a file, almost all the layers in the first level appears expanded, even when the file was saved with these layers colapsed.
So, as I have a lot of layers and sublayers/groups, it is difficult to navigate to a specific location and I need to collapse layer by layer.
Are there some trick to force Illustrator to remember the layer status?
I have two objects intersecting each other on different layers. The object on the top layer I reduced the opacity for and the bottom layer which was previously hidden now is shining through. I do not want this to happen. I want the bottom layer to remain hidden beneath the top layer despite the lowered opacity. How would I accompish this simply? I have CS2.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Win 7 machine using Illustrator CC, using a mouse with the pen tool.
I created some shapes on one layer, and now want totrace just the outside of those shapes on a different layer. It worked well enough on the first two shapes I did this with (both comprised of ellipses layered to create a particular shape) but on this third one, it keeps bouncing me back to the original layer. This is the only shape that includes straight lines but I can't think of a reason that would keep me from being able to trace the outline of shapes on a different layer.
