May 2, 2013I want to separate a photo image (A truck in this case) from its background to create a logo. On After Effects it is done with the Robobrush.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have AI in CS5 and a PC running Windows 7 and am struggling to get this to work:
I drew a horizontal line across the artboard. On top of this is a large circle, and then I centered a smaller circle atop the large circle. I need the small circle area on BOTH circles to be transparent so that the line AND the color background I've chosen (for when this is imported to InDesign) will show through.
I looked around the forums for answers, and decided to select the smaller circle, go to the Transparency palette and select Knockout Group. But the center of the larger circle doesn't show through where the smaller circle is. I then selected both circles (because the line under both circles needs to show through) and then clicked on Knockout Group. Still no change. There is something else I need to know, so here are my questions:
Is there something about the formatting of the circles that needs to be done? (Like perhaps the smaller circle needs to be formatted with no color in it?)
Do all three objects need to be on different layers? And if that's the case, can I group objects on different layers? Also,...
All objects are grouped on one layer right now, AND I have a needed warp effect on them. Should I remove the warp effect before doing this and then restore the warp? I've tried doing this from Isolation Mode, but perhaps IM is in the way?
How do you make the background of an object transparent in Adobe Illustrator?
I have been having issues with using the Magic Wand tool in Adobe Illustrator as well as the lasso tool.
Basically, I am trying to put a small graphic into a new Illustrator file.
The first thing I tried to do is to use the magic wand tool. But I found out that this did not work on a jpeg image since it did not have any individual objects to select.
So I tried something new. I opened the file in Adobe Photoshop and used the lasso tool to select an area. Then I coped this area. Then I tried to paste it into Adobe Illustrator. But the background was not transparent for the pasted image.
How do I make the background transparent.
I made this small video to show what I am talking about: [URL] .....

The original picture made by the camera was 4000 - 3000 pixels big and I made a small chunk out of it which you can find in the attachment.
My problem is how to isolate text from the background to make almost perfect text selection. I need text for the OCR procedure so the text selection needs to be appropriate.
I have already tried some simple methods like magic wand, contrasts, brightness etc but this things look like a game to me. I would like to know if there is a systematic approach (channels, masks) to perfectly isolate black color from the rest of the picture and how to apply it.
Would it be possible to separate the text from the background, as in make the white background transparent (Or as close as possible)? Normally I would use the Alpha feature on Keynote, but the font is too tricky for me to do that. It would be amazing if you could remove the background and keep all the text (including cup).

I need for the actual image to be shed of the often white background in order to better work with an existing background on the graphic. It seems straight forward enough, I just have limited computer graphic chops.

Im new with Paint .Net. What i would like to do is get an image which is 4248 x 3163 and resize it to around 250 px - this was done successfully however the next part of this task was to paste this image onto another background and float it to the right. So you know this is supposed to be a logo.
Now should i create another new paint .net page with the size i have in mind and then paste it to the right?
If yes how could i create a nice background that blends into the image? The type of background i have in mind is a few lines with waves flowing left to right and fading away.
Last autumn I took a photo of a rotten apple on some grass, with a tiny flower beside it. I used the regular lasso tool to cut and layer the apple, and then the flower (giving 3 layers). Upon closer reinspection, though, my lasso cut is a little jagged. So, I'm here asking what you guys do to cut out objects!
I am a fan of the magnetic lasso tool, but find that it can often leave very jagged edges when the object isn't clear cut. So, I thought I would be best to resort to the regular lasso tool, just with the photo zoomed in a lot and going little by little. That would be fine, except that I often click too fast from one point to the next, and Photoshop thinks I'm finished and stops the lasso there. That is soo frustrating! Is there any way to go back and edit after Photoshop has 'closed' the lasso selection?
Another thing I sometimes use is the magic wand tool, but as my background is grass, there's no way that I can get it to do what I want. Any suggestions?
I have a vehicle that is made up of about 15 materials (glass, paint1, paint2, chrome, plastic, rubber, etc.). Many of those separate materials are Multi/Sub-object materials.
The client wants a paragraph of fat text embossed into and wrapped around the vehicle. The text will cross over many different materials. Adding a "bump map" to just one material looks great on "that one" material and is all I need but how can I just add a "bump map" to the entire vehicle model at one time? I've tried adding the bump map to several materials but nothing lines up and it is a nightmare. I just need to wrap a bump map around the entire vehicle and have it "bump" whatever material it is over.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a very simple PSD, so i'll try to explain this super simply..
one transparent layer, with just a pair or eyebrows, with the only added blend effect as 'multiply'
one background with a face, no eyebrows.
the layer blends the eyebrows in to the background face perfectly.
i want to save the layer as a separate file keeping the tranparency and including the result of the multiply effect, without the background.
the reason why i want to do this may confuse things, but basically i want several different eyebrow colours to be interchangeable over this face in an application that doesn't recognise the blending link with the background, so i want to save it in PS !
I've tried to use it, but how to generate the flashing light in a separate object. This is possible because while trying I did it, but now I cannot do it and it does the flashing light in the same layer of the background of the image.

I am looking for a tool or routine to automatically add a unique object data ID number to Points or lines of a sewer system, that extract a prefix number from a seperate object data table (a location grid of closed polygons), then add a sequential number to each selected object. For example, 12 manhole points and 3 cleanouts are located with in one grid polygon. The Grid polygon has a coded id like 61280206, I want to be able to select all the MH and CO points in that grid polygon and have the new ID numbers be 6128020601, 6128020602, 6128020603, or to be able to specify the starting number like 6128020621,(for adding new points and continuing the sequence.
Better yet would be a routine that would be able to apply this system to all the points in the entire project area, extract the number from the appropriate grid polygon, and fill the numbers in one operation.
This is for the initial id numbering of a Cities, Sewer, water and electrical system.
I have searched for and found many LISP routines that do some of this (like ODCOUNT, etc), but none that I have seen have the data table extraction abilities. I do have one that works like this and files in the prefix number from a named views. I have several thousand grid cells (880ftx880ft). Perhaps there is a way to use my polygons w/table to create and name views
I'm attaching data to objects (attached data) and I'm unable to get the table option to open in a new window. I tried Field and the value is already set to 1. I'm using Map 3D 2012 .

Like for example, I have a model of a gun which I'm trying to rig now and this gun has two barrels, one obove the other, and each of this barrel needs to be assign to a different bone. Those bones are there, but the problem is that certain parts (vertices) of second barrel are assigned as well to the second bone, which is incorrect. How do I select only part (an element) of an object and assign it to the bone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn illustrator cs6, I have a complex shaped with a gradient fill. when I go to expand there is an option that says Expand Gradient and you select the amount of objects. so I selected 6 objects, and the expand tool did what I expected, my object got divided into 6 objects with fill colors relative to the gradient.
so I hit undo, and I moved a stop on my gradient slightly to affect the results a bit, and now it wont expand the same way. my gradient stays a gradient. I tried drawing new shapes with gradients and the gradient wont expand.
I'd like to layout a book format where the bleed extends on only the top, bottom and outside pages when two artboards are placed together.
