I want to know How to achieve this circle that has VERTICAL soft rounded dash.
http:[url].........
I have a flat drawing of the earth on its own layer and, through shading, would like to make it look rounded. Painting over it with the brush tool at a low opacity might be one way to do it, but is there an easier way?
Filter > Distort > Diffuse Glow came close to the effect I want, but Spherize was off the mark. Anything else I can try?
Why is the first dash shorter than the rest?
When I preserve the dash like this The first dash doesn't start at the beginning of the path...
So I looked up how to reverse the path and found this [URL] but my object options don't have the "reverse path" option
EDIT: I just realized that changing the direction of the path wouldn't work because it would mess up when it's too close to another path (although I still would like to know how to flip the direction regardless).
How can I create this verticle pattern within a circle? I have tried using pathfinder tools to stamp out the repeated verticle lines but that doesnt work.

I've seen in other posts that the CornerEffects.jsx script should work. But every time I select my rectangle, go to File > Scripts > CornerEffects.jsx I get this pop-up.

The area between the two borders I would like to add a decorative paper that I created in Photoshop. The large center remains white. I've tried clipping it, but apparently did not do it correctly. How to accomplish this?

The hands of the clock are invisible but a bounding box for the small rounded rectangle. It won't stay straigh either. I have tried everything I can paths, etc.

I would like to add a white highlight to the eye of one of my images like the one in this image......so that it is white in the middle then gently fades to black without having a line around the edge. Been trying to do it but can't get the same effect.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make overlapping arrows in a circle like the ones here. I pretty much have it, but I'm having trouble with how to get the layers right.
Here's what I have so far:
Note that my spacing is a little off, number 1. I tried to rotate each arrow 60 degrees, but it's not perfect.
Secondly, the bottom arrow is above everything, instead of above at the point and below at that base. How does one achieve that feat?
I'm wondering how to trace the "tail" of my bear using the Pen Tool in Photostop. I've already traced all around the bear to create the general shape. Now I need to create the lines within the bear to give the shape life.
I've been using Photoshop for years, but have never needed a curved line of some sort until now... so now I ask: How is this done?
I did it earlier, but now everytime I try "alt-click" to make the light blue cross hairs, nothing happens. I am trying to make a gear in illustrator and this is a key componant.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo you know when a video buffers, it is typically a round path with circles or lines and such that go from dark to light? Well, I need something like that for a logo design. I am trying to create a custom art brush, but its not happening. I created the shape Id like for all of the things to be along the path, but I don;t know which method of creating a brush to use.
Also, how to make each part around the circle get lighter?
I'm new to Illustrator and perhaps it's not the best software of CS6 Master for doing this, but:
I have a few (13) circles, they are connected with lines (one line from the centre of a circle to the centre of the next one, so 13 connecting lines). I need to move the circles around in order to create the appearance that suits me best, but I want the connecting ending to move together (see picture below). I need to do this often and get an immediate visual feedback. How do I do it? Am I using the wrong software altogether?
While using the 3D extrude and bevel tool, specifically the isometric preset from the position drop down menu. I am noticing that when I expand the shape (in this case a perfect cube), the vertical paths are not exactly perfect, and are not truly vertical, but off slightly. Is this something that can be fixed or adjusted in the settings, or is this how the tool works?

are we no longer able to do soft breaks in photoshop anymore?
When I apply colour correction, either 'auto' or using the sliders, the video becomes 'soft' (looks like it is out of focus). Is this normal, & is there a way around it?

I have made this planet and I want its ring to look as it's spinning around it, So the upper of the ring should go behind the actual planet! How can I do that? Also how can I add some volume to the ring to make it look a bit more realistic?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.

Does someone have a simple method for this? How can i do it to the very maximum size that will fit on the 750 450 doc?

View 3 Replies View RelatedCan Adobe Illustrator match or simulate inner bevel effects of inDesign and Photoshop? If it is possible, how to get a soft inner bevel on type or vector shape in Adobe Illustrator CS4 that can be set up to be identical (or, at least, very close) to the layer styles of PS and the type/fill/stroke/object effects of ID. So far, I have not been able to achieve the same look with 3D extrude and bevel in AI. I want a solid red object with a soft 16 point white-tint highlight and a soft 16 point black tint shadow. If it is not something that is possible with 3D extrude and bevel settings, this something that must or could be done manually with the gradient mesh tool?

I know how to make a solid straight line using the pencil tool. I know I can create a shape with a border using stroke and select area. But...
How do you make a straight vertical dashed (dotted) line?
Something about paths and holding down the shift key, but that doesn't do anything, no line shows and it doesn't like "snap" to a vertical position.
I'm trying to make a dotted line to be line a guide line for cutting when you print the image out on paper. Like the perforated line on a movie ticket or boarding pass.
