View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on this, and I typed this arabic word in photoshop, normally with other fonts i have no problem typing, I don't normally have this problem with any other fonts, but with this one, everytime I try and type,
The one on top is normal, the one on bottom I tried messing with the horizontal spacing but it just shows a white space where they are supposed to connect. Any help would he really appreciated. Also, This is the first time this happened with me, so I don't think I need the ME version because I do this all the time, just with different fonts,
I have Photoshop Middle Eastern Version CS5. When I type Arabic the letters are typed backward.
As you know arabic is typed from right to left, but in photoshop they are typed from left to right.
Everything is fine when typing on another program like notepad or MS word, but in photoshop letters are reversed,
Windows -> Character: I chose Adobe Arabic
Windows -> Paragraph is set to right align text and justification is set to arabic, eventhough arabic letter are typed backward and are not connected.
I have windows 7

View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded CS6 MENA version (invoice above) and it was working fine, up until today. Now the arabic settings are not showing in Illustrator - I can't change the orientation of the text and the text is not joined. I checked the "about Illustrator" drop box and it doesn't specify that this is the MENA version. I checked Indesign, it doesn't have the probelm with Arabic text and the "about Indesign" section says that it is the MENA version.
see images below:
This is all I get in paragraphs
We are currently working with the CS4 ME version.
After I read this document: [URL] .....
I downloaded the CS6 trial to see if we can upgrade our Macs without waiting for a ME version.
I got Arabic fully enabled in Photoshop – but not in InDesign and Illustrator.
I don't find the options as described in the document above; text direction, character direction, left-bounded pages (in InDesign), and so on...
Is it possible that these feature are not integrated in the current version of CS6 or do I miss some hidden preferences (like in Photoshop the "Middle Eastern" text engine option?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can go to Google Translate and type in a phrase and get it rendered into Arabic, and it looks correct. But when I copy and paste the Arabic characters into Illustrator, the letters that come out (using one of the many Arabic/Farsi fonts I have) aren't the same. It's as if you had "Mary Had A Little Lamb" in Arabic in Google Translate, but when you copy and paste you get "wblwevarrtblempswciartmfe" - total gibberish. I can paste it to a TextEdit file and it looks correct, just not when I paste it into Illustrator.
Here's a screen shot. At the top is a screen shot taken from having pasted it into a TextEdit file. The bottom is the exact same "paste" into Illustrator.
i have been a long user of romcat... but would like to use the new corel connect. i use the folders selected to my HD folder that has all my cdr files (20yrs worth from ver 1). when i type in a search word that is in 100's of my cdr files keywords... connect doesnt display them. In romcat it does display them, even older files, with the same key word. connect only shows cdr files that have in its file name part of the search word, but seems to ignore the key words in the files.
I have all my job files with important key words within them, but the actual file names are simple job numbered names. i noticed on searches from X5 content on dvd, the files also are just numbers, but the search finds key words.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using adobe cs5 for a few years. If I wanted to connect the corners of two line segments, you would select the first line segment with the select tool, then switch to the direct selection tool, and drag the anchor point to the other line segment anchor point till the cursor arrow went white (signifying the other anchor point being recognized). Then you would choose "join" and it would give a nice right angle connecting the two line segments.
With adobe cs6, the direct selection tool doesn't change to white when you go over the other line segment anchor point.(Unfortunately my screen capture doesn't show the black arrowhead that you see when you are dragging with the direct selection tool to the other line segment.)
I have also attached a YouTube video link that shows what how this recognition of anchor points looks in adobe illustrator cs5, and this was exactly what I used to do when I was performing the task shown in my screen capture but with adobe.
I am, using Ai (CS6). I've produced a poster I'm fairly happy with, but black background is affecting red and green type on top of the black...
Possibly one hint towards a solution is that I have one photo with a transparency and the lettering that is on top of that transparency isn't affected by the black background.
The transparency was started by creating a cut-out of a mugshot in Ps CS6, using the magnetic tool, previously creating a transparent background layer.
Anyway, the long and the short is, if a tiff photo transparent background can keep out the black background, how can I create a transparent layer with similar properties.
Is there an easy way in Illustrator to add strokes inside letters to get an effect something like this? I know you can just draw the lines, but it never looks quite right.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have text that I live traced and I am trying to mask vertical lines through the letters. When I do this the text turns white. When I ungroup and do it one at a time only one letter works the others turn white. When I use make a compound path still only one letter will work and the other letters turn white.
I just purchase CS6 and I have not had time to do tutorials and I have a deadline to meet...
I want to create a text wrap - or drop cap - for a giant letter B. But I can't figure out how to do it, and every tutorial I see for drop caps refers to InDesign, and those steps do not work in Illustrator.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need a script for Illustrator CS6, that...
1. Opens a dialog where I enter a letter, like "A".
2. Script then check the current layer for text with this letter, and "unview" (opacity = 0 or color=white), all other letters on this layer. So that the layer will only show "A", or "a" and no other type of letter. The script needs to check all text objects, some "a"s will be in objects consisting of several other letters also, like sentances. Script needs to find the letter in these and mute all others.

I have a strange problem going on for CS6... Where when I created a design, grouped all of them so that they had the same center.. then did a force perspective... Some of the letters didn't render while a wire frame does exist for them.
One friend suggested to make sure all of the points are joined, however when I Ctrl+J them, I get an error that says invalid object... which is most likely because they are joined...
I import sequences into illustrator composed of hundreds of text letters. How do I make text bold many letters at a time? I can do one letter at a time but I need to do 20-30 at a time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIllustrator applies the subscript effect only to numerical characters, e.g. 1,2,etc. But it does NOT apply it to alphabetical characters, e.g. a, b, c etc. I observe this using the default Myriad Pro font, as well as other fonts.
How do I apply subscript to regular letters (not just numbers)?
p.s. I am using the Ctrl+T menu, then go to OpenType tab and select Subscript under Position setting, and observe the issue above. Am I doing something wrong here?
I am making a sign for my logo. The 'i' in my script face is long and overlaps the following letter which the sign maker's router will not read. So I would like to be able to use the shape builder tool to join the 3 instances where the letter 'i' appears each to the following letter. No luck so far. I have turned the type into points. I have highlighted the first instance, 'i' and 'c'. but the shape builder tool shows a circle with a line through it... not working.
