i am looking to design two decks of playing cards. i have decided on the theme, and i have decided on the general design for four of the court cards and the backs of the cards. the manufacturer requires more than 100 .ai files, .eps files for the tuck boxes and that i supply pantone colors.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy printer (digital printer) tells me that they dont recommend having any borders on their cards as during the printing /cutting process the edges may be trimmed 1mm in a random manner and thus offsetting a nice even border.
Â
Is there anyway to combat this or do I need to go to a specific type of printer?
Â
Or do I just setup the file and hope the random edge cut/print/positioning goes my way?
Â
Id love to get a small white 1mm/2mm edge on the left and top of my card if possible, bottom doesnt matter as its allready white and right edge there doesnt need to be one.
I'm trying to bend a set of panoramic photos around a circle. Most of the discussions I see in this forum are about doing this with text using the Type on a path tool. I'd like to achieve the essentially same thing with a photograph. The warp tool in photoshop seems much too clumsy for my needs. Here is an example of the layout i'm talking about, with black boxes instead of images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make business cards in Adobe Illustrator using the Pantone Color System. In my logo, the middle circle is a dark grey: C20 Y20 M20 K80. I can't find a suitable Pantone grey that is this dark. Pantone 425U is too light. Also, which Pantone Black is the darkest?

I make TV features, using multiple P2 cards. I use a Panasonic card reader to use my footage on Adobe Prem Pro.
Â
How do I use footage from the three cards, and export it as a MP4, if two of the three cards I need to use aren't in the card reader? I've done things all off one card and it works ok. When I take a card out to use another one, it will tell me the footage is offline, right?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up my Dell U2711 monitor for use with 10 bit display (30 bit color) in Windows 7 via Displayport. I noticed that CS6 now has a "30 bit display" option in the Advanced GPU settings, and saw Chris Cox's commentary in another posting that CS6 no longer relies upon the GPU driver to enable 10 bit display.
Â
Has CS6 changed what video cards are able to work with 10 bit display?
Â
I know previously it needed to basically be either a AMD Firepro or possibly a Nvidia Quadro workstation class card with their advanced drivers in order to work. Can 10 bit display now work with the more mainstream Radeon HD 6xxx/7xxx or GeForce GTX 5xx/6xx cards? I'd like to buy a more powerful video card for general purposes, but not have to pay the very high price of a workstation class card.
Is it ok to use 2 identical video cards (Nvidia GT 120) in a Mac Pro with 2 monitors and PS? Any benefit or problems from using 2 cards - each monitor getting a seperate card?
There might be instances where I might need to run 3 monitors but it will mainly be 2 (a 21" and 24" NEC multisync's).
I'm working on a business card project and I want to put three cards on one pace with crop marks on each card. How can I do it? I only know to put crop marks when saving to PDF or exporting to printer and on one individual element on the page.
I want to have those three cards with crop marks, and on one page.

I took a photo for a family Christmas card, and am trying to make the card on Photoshop. This question will prove what an amateur I really am, but I am having trouble with layers. When I change the size or format of one layer, all of the layers change as well.
I can't seperate what I do on one layer from the next. Can someone please help me with this? Also; I can't change the size of my photo to fit it on the other layer. How do I change the background layer from the photo to the background I want?
I am trying to create an image to use for my business cards and I have come up with 4 cards all using the same design. Please let me know which you all think would be better.
Business Card 1
Business Card 2
Business Card 3
Business Card 4
Note: These were created with photoshop.
Currently my display card is a NVIDIA Quadro FX 500/600 PCI. One of the reasons I chose this card is it supprted dual montors. Now that I have upgraded to CS4 Extended I need to upgrade my display card.
When I went to Adobe's List of tested graphics display cards for Photoshop CS4 and seen such a long list of cards for Windows.I thought I would come here and ask if any body else has upgraded theirs. I would perfere to go with a nVidia card. Do any of these cards support dual monitors? Or how can I keep using my two montors? Price wise $250.00 is the highest I can go.
which card to get?
I have Photoshop 7 and I want to create some business cards in Photoshop and then print them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLong-term user of CorelDraw, and have just found Xara P&GD, which is quite a revelation. I've re-designed my business card and how to print to A4, pre-perforated card. CorelDraw can make use of Avery templates for printing the single business card design, multiple times, on the same sheet of card, but I can't find a way to do this with Xara without physically copying the design to make a composite A4 layout. Can Xara do this the "template" way?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm creating cards for different decks. What the printer gets and what I get are two totally different things. This card (.xar file attached), has been designed with the diamond fill. I got poor results when I exported the .xar file itself to PDF format.
So I exported the .xar file as a 300dpi png, and next exported the PNG file to PDF, using Xara DP6 program. Turned out exactly as I want it. File attached.
So, I send the PNG file to the printer. He exports it to Adobe Illustrator, and it comes back with rectangles instead of the subtle starburst effect. I have four card designs that use this diamond effect, and they all do the same thing. His PDF file is too large to attach here because there are 11 card samples on it and it's 860kb. So I'm attaching a screenshot of how the red card turned out when he exported the PNG file to PDF. I'm also attaching a screenshot of the blue card, where you see the rectangles are quite prominently displayed.
(Blue card image being so large; I was working with Photoshop Elements and must have forgotten to resize.)
I could export the cards to PDF and send them instead of PNGs. Looking for taking a PDF export from Xara and using it in an Adobe Illustrator template?
Lightroom 4 can no longer see the pictures on my SD card when I insert it into my computer. The photos are definately on there, when I right click and press 'show in finder' they are all right there, yet Lightroom can't see them - it show '0 Photos' on the memory card tab .
Â
I played around moving pictures from sub folders on the SD card to the first level (which didn't make a difference), and checked read/write permissions (which all seem fine).

Gear:

-IMac, OS X v10.7.5, Intel Core i5.
-Nikon D5000
-Mix of SanDisk and PNY Professional memory cards (all have pictures on and Lightroom cant see any!)
Have I missed the hardware requirement of using on Nvidia Cuda based graphical card in my system? All the new blurfilters are causing a graphical cards break down. What happens is that Photoshop keeps running but the screen turns completely black. You have to close the application in the taskmanager.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bits and CS6 master edition. System is completely uptodate and all drivers have been checked.
I will test Photoshop CS 6 in my Windows x64 System. First I´ve got a Matrox P690 graphic card, but it won´t run with OpenGL 2.0. So I bought a new MATROX M9120 Plus x1 card in hope it will work fine with Photoshop. But the GPU OpenGL with rotation tool or other things won´t work, because the card seems to be not verified by Photoshop CS6. The drivers are the newest WDDM certified Matrox drivers from December 2012.

Some infos from my system:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
16GB RAM
2x Intel Quadcore XEON CPU
Matrox M9120 Plus PCIe x1
