I have a path that's coming out from an arbitrary angle, and I want a star at the end of the line, but perfectly centered so that the line bisects one of its inner arrows, if that makes sense.
I've made a separate star and a separate path, but I can't seem to hand-align it correctly.
I created a square in which I have to draw vertical lines in it. I want the first line to start at 2.5 cm from the left segment of the square.
In a different way to say it just to be clear enough, I want to align the segment (inside the square) from the left vertical line of the square, put 2.5 cm to the right, and then there's my line.
When I try to align it using the align tool, I use the square as a key object. But it select ALL the square, so it puts my line 2.5 cm but to the far right of the square, outside my artwork. I'd want to select only the left line of the square.
When I select Align to Pixel Grid in the Transform Panel, I see line weight changes occur. I try to change the line weight in the either the Stroke or Appearance panel and it will not change, no layers locked, how to change the line weight?

As you can see in the left one, text has its base line under itself, and its bounding box doesn't match its base line. when I use align, it doesn't align using its base line but its bounding box.How can I make text align using their base line easily?
Occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite for left & right align, usually on Illustrator documents with Russian type.
In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.
In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.
I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.
I've created a star with the star tool, but I wish to edit the number of points and the radius. It seems like once you create the shape, you can't go back and edit it, you have to create an entire new star. Seems silly that I would have to count how many points I had before and create an entire new star. It should be easy to just select the star and be able to add or subtract points and change the radius, just like when creating a new one, just off of the already created star. I have tried and can't seem to get it to work.

It's like this:
I have a horizontal line. Above it, there are +200 objects. They are aligned in the right rotation already, but I just want to move all the objects lower line to my horizontal line.
How can I align objects which are in a curve to a straight line? I thought I already knew the answer to this but when I tried I could not get it done.
I have about 1000 objects that I need aligning in this way (see attached image).

Same as you can use the measure command to put blocks on a line with a pitch distance I would like to do the same but the block schould snap with 2 points on the line.

What does the article mean by "Nodes Tool"? It's written there that I should draw a triangle using the polygon tool and then using Nodes tool > Make selected nodes symmetric I will get that shape in the photo above, But I cannot find neither the Nodes tool nor the symmetric nodes option I'm using Adobe Illustrator CC
I drew a Gmask with 4 points and broke the handles. My questions is:
1. How do I know when 2 or more points are exactly on the same vertical or horizontal line?
2. How do i get them to align?
3. How do I move 2 or more points together? (Control select and drag)?

View 9 Replies View Relatedadding a page baseline grid! I love it, but I have one problem with it. For example I set the baseline grid to 13 pt, i have text with line spacing specified to 13 pt. I right-click the paragraph text box and select "Align to baseline grid". Then the text surely is aligned to the grid, BUT the lines are spaced to every other line, instead of every line.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have done a completely clean install of Creative Cloud CS6 on my mac on Mountain Lion. First time opening Illustrator, and I cannot center two vector objects on each other. Rather, when I click to center them (vertically or horizontally) it actually pushes them further apart! It also appears to be arbitrarily selecting another object on my art board when I select these two (there is no grouping overlap, it makes no sense). I've looked around before, and have 'align to selection' checked, and 'snap to grid/snap to point' unchecked in the 'view' dropdown. Going to try to trash my preferences, but this is literally the first time I've opened it, so I can't see how that would be an issue!
I use this tool CONSTANTLY in what I do, so this is really troubling.
How would I match up line 1 to the second line with the perfect curve towards it?

The rectangle will not to the circle correctly or evenly. This has been happening too much recently and I move on and find a way around it. I've had enough though.
I've turned off and on Snap to point, Snap to grid, Smart guides. Everytime I drag the rectangles edges to the circles, they magically somehow snap back to the original spot or further than I wanted it.
Nothing fixes it. I'm extremely furious! Why is the edge of my circle able to be there but not the edge of the rectangle? I've even tried to increase and decrease the shapes. Still, nothing.
Let's say I've cut a circle in half, and then placed both halves on either side of the art board. Is there a way I can align them back right next to each other so that they appear as a circle once again?
None of the tools in the "align" window allow me to do that.
Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but how do I align the type of different sizes. The F's don't align.
I realize this is probably designed in the typeface.

Align To Pixel Grid a bit more thoroughly. I understand how to use it - to turn it on & off, but I'm a bit confused about the "why & when" of using it. F.I. I'm creating a picturebook with text. So when I export / or save for web, I'll be turning the vector art and text as an image. My understanding is that using ATPG will eliminate the jagginess of the text that would occur, when it becomes an image, if I did not use ATPG.And conversely, if I don't use ATPG, the text will be jaggy when exported to jpg or png. Is this correct?

View 2 Replies View Related in the left is my outlined shapes zoomed right in on a corner all perfectly alligned (3 shapes in total next one is ontop of another perfectly inline) then next is the preview zoomed in as you can see not perfectly inline and next is my full image so you get an idea.
My probelm is when scaling like i've done here it causes the shapes to come out of line and then causes the overall image to look bad. But when i made the original pic it was fine its just when i resize this happens but as you can see the outline is fine?
How do I align objects 1/8" apart. Illustrator wants to round .125" up to .13" I have a die cut to make and it's throwing off my alignment

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to align a nested family to a reference line in my host family so that it rotates around a certain point.
I've created the reference line in my host family, locked the end point to two reference planes and then gave an angular parameter to the angle between the ref. line and the ref. plane.
I then inserted the nested family and aligned it to the ref. line. The problem is that when I flex the angle, i get a "Constraints not satisfied" error..
What could be wrong?
I'm using a generic face based family for both host and nested families...

When increasing the width of a stroke around a shape the stroke is not centered... WHY DOES IT DO THIS??? Even if I use the controls in the stroke window to change this it sill plays up.

I am having trouble trying to figure out possibly how to make my text align as presentable as possible.
