we have a problem with Illustrator.Illustrator pulls behind selection. You can't select an object with the Selection tool, without afterwards draw the object by moving the mouse. A new installation and resetting Illustrator was unsuccessful.
I created a AI tool plugin, when use the tool, I hope press mouse left key and drag in document view, AI will draw a rectangle, when mouse up, the rectangle disappears, just like ordinary select tool. So I wrote a class to implement AIAnnotation, during mouse drag, just let the annotation been invalidated. but I see nothing displayed. In the draw funtion I just use DefineClipStart() and then draw a rectangle using AIAnnotation drawer, at last call DefineClipEnd(). After mouse up call ClearClip().
I've relaunched and tried re-installing Illustrator CC twice and didn't solve this unexpected crash problem. It has never happened since I paid for this software months ago.
Illustrator won't crash when: - using the keyboard arrows to manually move any path or drawn shapes/ objects - using my wireless mouse to draw objects/ new paths from clipboards, colour boards etc.
Illustrator CRASHES when: - using my wireless mouse and macbook's touchpad mouse to move any new or old drawn paths/ objects/ shapes/ lines etc.
In my Opinion - ROOT OF PROBLEM: - Wirelss and macbook's touchpad mouse cursor causees it to hang then crash 1 minute later.
Why would my mouse cursor suddenly be the cause of this crash problem when it was working fine all along?
Below is the error message, I use this software to run my design business.
I've found this tutorial on adding multiple gradients to form a glassy text [URL]....and I never knew you could create multiple gradients on one object.
I can only manage to apply one gradient. On the tutorial it sounds easy to just draw a gradient, then draw another. However it is not that simple; I draw a gradient, then I attempt to draw the second, and it just moves the first gradient.
How does one draw multiple gradients on the same object?
Is there any way to move a object using its width? ex: "move to left a box with 10cm(width) using this value (10cm)". But I want to capture the width of any selected object.
Another thing: i want to select objects with same fillcolor and do something like: pathfinder>>add;
Let say I have a pot of flower I drew in Illustrator and I want to place it on a Perspective grid so that I will have half of the drawing snap on Left Grid in the perspective and another half snap to Right Grid?
Is there any easy way to do this without first slicing the artwork in half and place them individually?
I have been following this tutorial: [URL] .... in which artwork is mapped to the perspective grid.
Towards the end of the video (7:00) a sign is mapped to the left grid then moved perpendicular along the right grid ... this is achieved by holding down the tilde key.
When I hold down the tilde key and move the object (which is selected with the perspective selection tool, with the correct grid selected ) it does not map it perpendicular as in the video.
I have deleted my illustrator preferences file (in case any settings were causing this feature not to work). Also if I create a new object and press the tilde key and drag I can create multiple instances, so the tilde key at least in this case is being recognized.
I'm working in a file zoomed fully to 6400%. I've changed the Keyboard increment to the smallest it will allow to 0.0036 mm.
I have two lines. Line 2 sits on line 1, a fraction above. When I select line 2 and press the down arrow key, it jumps so that line 2 is now a fraction below line one. I cannot get the lines to sit perfectly onto of one another.
I have tried to move the line using the mouse, but it snaps to the same position as the keyboard press.
I have turn off snap to grid, snap to point, all the guides, smart guides.
I have a problem with my brush and pencil tool. Whenever I want to draw an object without a stroke and just a fill, it immediately assigns me a stroke in either the colour my fill is, or, if I'm using a gradient, in black. It doesn't have that problem with the pen tool though. I also checked in my presettings and my Transform plaette that the "Align to Pixel Grid" option is unchecked. Also, the "New Art has basic appearance" is unchecked.
I'm trying to move specific anchor points on a path a few pixels up from their current position, while keeping everything else where it is, so it'll transform the figure's shape. I'm trying to do it precise by changing it's dimensions, rather than clicking and dragging. does- work when I direct select the points I want and drag them. Problems with that:
1) I have very little control. If I want the point moved up by whole pixels, I pretty much have to get lucky because it's always in decimal points.
2) With shapes bordering each other (parts of a complex shape), if I want to move their location to scrunch something (Half circle in a larger half circle, wanting to flatten out the base), if I lift those points up, they leave a gap. As if the top border of the outer circle has another anchor point under the lower of the one above that, and I can't click on it to move everything while they're still touching. I can take screenshots if needed. I'm following a tutorial to get used to the program.
Alternately, I suppose if you have a shortcut for constraining the drag to whole pixels instead of fractions, that's great too. In Photoshop and the like, holding Shift would give me precision, but that's not the case in this tool or perhaps program.
I'm using scatter brush to draw multiple lines with random size and angle(image 1.), and trying to increase only the horizontal size(image 2.), keeping the interval the same. But when I do, the interval is also increased since 'Spacing' option follows the size of the base object. I could adjust and decrease the spacing value, but the problem is, spacing option cannot go below 1%. So if want to increase the line size and maintain the interval, there's no way to do it. expending then scaling could work, but that's not what I want.
my coordinates aren't appearing in the text boxes at the bottom of the screen (see screenshot) when I move my mouse around in a viewport. They just stay blank, so when zooming out or in of a viewport, I have no sense of scale. When I select a vertex/edge/face, then the information appears as expected, but it used to show the dynamic position of the cursor in these fields. I have units set up (feet w/ fractional inches). I'm using 3ds Max 2014.
After checking the online documentation, it appears as though these boxes should be displaying this information:
When you are simply moving the mouse in a viewport, these fields show the current cursor location in absolute world coordinates. Is there any setting that controls this, or any toggle that I'm not aware of? It's difficult to start my scene without knowing roughly where I'm clicking in 3d space.
In CS3 after clicking onto the slider "triangle" I can then adjust it with the mouse wheel. I don't appear to be able to do this in CS6. Can this be remedied?
I have AutoCAD LT 2011 and a 3D Connexion space navigator. My problem is that whenever I move the mouse, the command that I'm currently on gets canceled. For example, if I am moving something and it's asking me for the target location and I move the 3d mouse to navigate there, I get canceled out of the move command. This essentially means I can't use my 3d mouse for commands (a big problem!).
I tried to install the latest pacth but that doesn't fix my problem. (photoshop CS5 12.04 MAC) As i said in the title: when I'm under hand tool mode or when I hold the spacebar down to get the hand tool, the image mouves around and just continue to glide as if it wears ice skates!
When I move my mouse over my image the brush cursor is not moving and it will not let me click on my image (with the mouse) the crosshair/cursor will follow it, however the brush will not, nor will any other tools, my wacom tablet however works fine.
I thought it must be something to do with GIMP accepting input but its not going as of yet.
I was trying painting with gimp and there is a shortcut in gimp to change the size of the brush/opacity my moving the stylus like you can on photoshop or sketchbook pro.
ALT+ctrl on a mac
This would be an incredible time-saver for us artists and not very complex. If not I will suggest this feature to the gimo developers.
After upgrading from CS6 beta to CS6 release this function stopped working (on OS X Lion). The only think that happens when I use both keys (Ctrl+Alt) and move the mouse is moving the whole application/cs6 windows.
The screen flickers when I move the mouse around an open drawing. I just applied the latest patch to Civil 3D 2010. It was not doing this before the patch.
Have Quadro 3500 video card. Updated the driver for that with no change.
Have a Logitech wireless mouse, M310. Up dated the driver for that with effect.
Changed to a wired mouse, no change.
Is there a setting in Autocad where I can set the refresh rate so that it does not refresh while moving the mouse. Or at least slow the automatic refresh rate down?
When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.
Im trying out the "Demo"version and now find some anomaly.
If i use in ACAD2007: With "PSELECT" and then "P" or "L" i could select the last marked Object/Selectionset. I had just to select the Object with the mouse. Now in ACAD2010, with this routine i can only select objects which i have selected in a command (before or within).
For example: Draw a few circles and lines. Then copy 3 of them. ESC. And select another few. ESC and then use PSELECT P and it marks the three which i selected to copy and not these i've selected with mouse!
The same in Lisp with: (entget(entlast)) . You aren't able to select those object which where only marked by mouse.I know; mostly you use a command with some objects and then use another with the same objects, and it works. But when you klick ESC or even in Script or Lisp you got problems, and its not very "proper" at all. Is this the new handling with the selection set: feature odr big?
I am developing a .NET application that integrates with AutoCAD Architecture. In my .NET application, I provide my user with a list of drawing files (.dwg) that they can choose to open. Once my user has selected a file, my application will open the selected drawing in AutoCAD Architecture. In this drawing, the user can click on an object in the drawing.
Can this mouse click event be captured and the object ID for the selected object be returned to my application?
where I can't use the move tool with the mouse properly. I'll go and select a single item on a layer and then try to move it with the mouse (move tool). I've done this before and still do it all the time on Photoshop on my other machines. However, on my laptop it won't work. I grab the single object I want to move and the second I move it, it defaults to moving every single layer in my file.
I have a task to draw a picture(attached in the post) using ObjectARX but the picture is complicated(too many things to take into considerations) and how to accomplish the task. What is the best option. I have to use ObjectARX SDK and C# to do it.
I am trying to draw lines(orange colored) on this 3d object(crimson colored). Every time I go to select the lines to alter them I end up only being able to select the 3d object they are on. How do I turn off the selection of the 3d objects or anything on that layer?
I'm trying to draw a solid object. I have the top and bottom base, and all I want is to loft that thing, but when I do, it only lofts the limits - it results in a hollow object.
