Illustrator :: Moving Object Between Tabs Results In Very Low Resolution?

When I move an object to a new tab(drag and drop), the end reult is very low resolution/distorted image?

Lightroom :: After OS X Update Moving 1:1 - Images Results In Low Resolution?
Sep 21, 2013After the OS X 10.8.5 update on my current generation 27' iMac moving 1:1 images results in very low resolution for those areas I am moving to with as long as a two second delay before the image snaps back into full resolution. Not only that but when it snaps back into full resolution you see a shift in alignment and a snapping into place with the nearby area that was already in full resolution. This is awful and is occuring with Lightroom 5 and 5.2.
My iMacs specs are the current generation 27" iMac, i7 3.4 Ghz, 32GB RAM, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB running OS X 10.8.5.
I did not have this issue with OS X 10.8.3.
Illustrator :: Image Trace CS6 Moving Results?
Jul 16, 2012When using image trace in CS6, illustrator seems to be shifting the results. Is there anyway to prevent this. I have several images that I am tracing along with other vector elements that need to stay in alignment with each other.
The Blue is the location of the original image and the black is the tracing result. I'm seeing this shift in each of the view modes and regardless of which preset I use. I've also tried leaving the image linked and embedding the image with no difference.
In addition, I am having a hard time getting black and white images to trace to the same quality I had in CS4. As you can see I'm getting pinched sections on lines even with a Path setting of 97-100% and Noise of 1 px. I also tried a path setting of as low as 20%, the pinching of the lines was gone, but it was so over generalized that I lost a lot of the other character.
In CS4 I was able to use path fitting 2px Min area 10px corner angle 20 and get this much better result
the white hole is preserved, there is no pinching of the line. I keep reading how the new image trace is supposed to be so much better, but I can't seem to find any evidence of it in a simple a black and white image.

On pdf file its showing two objects in the content panel with one object present in low resolution other one same as its original.
It will not happen in direct pdf from illustrator
It will not happen in grayscale mode.

Apr 23, 2012I have been following this tutorial: [URL] .... in which artwork is mapped to the perspective grid.
Towards the end of the video (7:00) a sign is mapped to the left grid then moved perpendicular along the right grid ... this is achieved by holding down the tilde key.
When I hold down the tilde key and move the object (which is selected with the perspective selection tool, with the correct grid selected ) it does not map it perpendicular as in the video.
I have deleted my illustrator preferences file (in case any settings were causing this feature not to work). Also if I create a new object and press the tilde key and drag I can create multiple instances, so the tilde key at least in this case is being recognized.
Illustrator :: How To Make Smallest Increment When Moving Object
Nov 28, 2013I'm working in a file zoomed fully to 6400%. I've changed the Keyboard increment to the smallest it will allow to 0.0036 mm.
I have two lines. Line 2 sits on line 1, a fraction above. When I select line 2 and press the down arrow key, it jumps so that line 2 is now a fraction below line one. I cannot get the lines to sit perfectly onto of one another.
I have tried to move the line using the mouse, but it snaps to the same position as the keyboard press.
I have turn off snap to grid, snap to point, all the guides, smart guides.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Layout Tabs Keep Moving
Feb 28, 2013For some reason our layout tabs keep re-arranging themselves. All of a sudden our sheet 2 ( or what ever) is between tabs for sheets 35 & 36 (or where ever it wants to be).
we use tabs because 45 sheets of images require never ending scrolling. the current tab is never the image shown....they always start at the 1st tab?
when you are on sheet 40 and want to go to 44.....scroll .
Illustrator :: CS5 - Moving Anchor Points With Transform Panel Not Whole Object
Dec 18, 2013I'm trying to move specific anchor points on a path a few pixels up from their current position, while keeping everything else where it is, so it'll transform the figure's shape. I'm trying to do it precise by changing it's dimensions, rather than clicking and dragging. does- work when I direct select the points I want and drag them. Problems with that:
1) I have very little control. If I want the point moved up by whole pixels, I pretty much have to get lucky because it's always in decimal points.
2) With shapes bordering each other (parts of a complex shape), if I want to move their location to scrunch something (Half circle in a larger half circle, wanting to flatten out the base), if I lift those points up, they leave a gap. As if the top border of the outer circle has another anchor point under the lower of the one above that, and I can't click on it to move everything while they're still touching. I can take screenshots if needed. I'm following a tutorial to get used to the program.
Alternately, I suppose if you have a shortcut for constraining the drag to whole pixels instead of fractions, that's great too. In Photoshop and the like, holding Shift would give me precision, but that's not the case in this tool or perhaps program.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Create Alignment From Object Results In Wrong Length?
Sep 17, 2013I am working on creating an alignment from a single polyline. The polyline, which was originally created in Carlson 2012, is a flat polyline that is about 1200 feet in length. When I select it with create alignment from object, it accepts it and seems to work. For some reason though, the stationing is way off --- e.g. the true 50' mark is showing up as 0+04.17 which results in an end station of 0+99.31 on a 1191' polyline.
edit> I also have tried this with a brand new polyline I created in civil3d, same issue.

Occasionally, clicking the Model or other layout tab results in no action, as if I'm not clicking on it.
All other controls (within and external to C3D) function normally so it's not a mouse hardware issue.
It will usually correct itself if I "restore down" the main application window, then maximize it again.
The -layout command is a workaround too.

May 24, 2013The letter "A" on the left is filled with a radial gradient. The letter "A" on the right is the same except I used offset path to expand the shape of the letter "A" but the gradient doesn't keep it's original coordinates and the outside shape of the offset "A" does not match the gradient of the original inside "A". I need the gradient to expand out with the same center coordinates as the gradient inside the original "A". I can't just scale the "A". I need both shapes of the "A" but filled with the same gradient.

Sep 27, 2012I'm working on pdf image files, 300 dpi, and I want to use the Image Trace tool to vectorized these ones. The result has to be under 4 colors, and the file is a mozaic of photos calibrated 3mm x 3mm.
The purpose is to vectorize the whole image ( composed with approximately 800 photos )I did different tests with the settings of the Image Trace tool with samples of 12 x 12 mm ( 4 photos x 4 photos ) and the result is correct. But when I try to do the same with the entire image, the result is just horrible The entire image is sized 200 mm height and 130 mm width, but the import format is exactly the same than the samlpes I made my presets on.
I was thinking that Illustrator should act the same with the full image than with the small one, it just took more time to calculate the rendering, but apparently not.

After placing an image into a new document within Illustrator. I trace the image and expand it. from there I attempt to Alt-click on the unite shape mode to create a compound shape.
No results...the compound shape is not created.
Photoshop :: Return File To Resolution Of Smart Object
Nov 8, 2012I often make a photo into a Smart Object within my file and then resize my file smaller for web. That way I can keep a copy of my original photo at full size but apply color correction, sharpening etc at the web size.
So lets say the image dimensions are 300px wide but that file holds a smart object that is much larger. Is there an easy way to return the file to the larger size without losing my color adjustment layers etc?
I know I can just make it larger but I want to return to the exact size of the smart object without having to open said smart object, record the size and then go back and enter it.

Apr 26, 2005I've used illustrator a bit for drawing pictures, but never for web graphics... I need to create some tabs (for the top of a webpage). Maybe illustrator isn't the most common tool for this but it's the one I can use the most.
Anyone know of any tutorials that might be useful (i've not found any) or have any tips for making the tabs look nice (e.g. what effects to use)

Jan 12, 2011When I export a CorelDraw file to Illustrator, Corel has a habit of turning all objects into transparencies. So I have to convert them back into opaque objects in Illustrator, which can take a long time since I'm doing illustrations that have on average 1000 + objects, most of them opaque. I'm using the default export settings, and changing which version of Illustrator I'm exporting to doesn't seem to work.
I'm wondering if this is a glitch with CorelDraw X5 or do I have some box checked that shouldn't be?
