I'm trying to label parts of an engine photo with the text feature in GIMP. However, after I have typed my text and press enter or escape, it always leaves a yellow and black hyphenated rectangular frame around the text. How do I get rid of this frame so that only the text will be left?
View 4 Repliesattached is a picture with blue flowers. In PS, i would select a portion of the flower at a time and create a new adjustment colorize layer to color the selection. So in the end i had roughly 6 or 7 layers and each one was a differnt color. ill upload the final result as well.

I have recently upgraded to photoshop CS3 extended (windows). The problem I'm having is the text engine will not initialize all the time. When I try to add text or modify text. I am frequently blocked because the text engine will not initialize.

I just had a problem where I had to re-install the software from scratch because Photoshop wouldn't open files or create any new files, but, like I said, I've already uninstalled and reinstalled it.

when writing in a text box whenever using punctuation it always go to the beginning of the sentence. FOR EXAMPLE (?what time is it)i have tried changing the text engine option to East Asian and then restarting photoshop, but when reopening my exisitng work, the problem still remains.However when creating a new document the problem is gone, however i want to resolve the problem with my exisitng document i have been working on.

I know i can create parcels, but i dont want to! I have also created a map table that can do exactly what i want on polylines, but will not work on an xref. Labelling featurelines does work in xrefs.
how to add the name into a label style?
Is there a way to "Edit Label Text" in a Parcel area label? Similar to the way you can edit it in other styles.

Using 3D Map 2012 this is a really great way to handle Labels for Linear Features..but is there a setting that allows the end user to set a Distance or Limit to control the spacing of these lables....?
I have a plan I want to create a table of feature line (the ones used as ditch cl's) with the designation (ie R1), the overall length (this part I can do) and then the Delta z of the entire feature line. I can get segment Delta z, but not the entire Delta z.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was working on a psd-file this morning when suddenly an error message appeared - saying somthing of the text engine. I canceled the error message a few times, then saved the document, closed photoshop and reopend the application. Since that moment, I was not able to open the file anymore, Photoshop just stopped making anything. But I can open every other psd-file, but not this specific one. Always when I try to open the specific file Photoshop stopps doing anything.
I tried a lot of things like deleting the font cache, trying to open the file with an older photoshop version, tried to open it with ID, AI, FW, Gimp etc.
I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 7 (64bit).
I've seen a label style somewhere that can label the elevation of vertices and elevation points on feature lines. How to style or a procedure for creating a style for this?
I've found a couple of blogs that layout the steps for a style but it seems there are a few ways to do it so I'm looking for what could be considered the most effective/versatile approach.
I'm using PS CS6 13.0.5 x64 on Snow Leopard (iMac 27" late 2012). I tried to change the text engine to Middle Eastern, but after I restart PS, the program is nearly non-responsive, and it takes forever to edit text. Changing it back to East Asian solves the problem, but then again, I want to use the Middle Eastern feature...
When I use Illustrator CS6 I don't have such problems (although I have to write backwards, since there is no support for right-to-left in Illustrator in my version)
I have written a few words and created also a transparent background (I think...)
What I would like to do now is to place a photo as a background to the text I already have. Is that possible or do I have to start with the photo?

I added text to a new layer on a photo, I was able to adjust the angle to fit what I wanted but I am unable to move the text to where I want it on the photo. I would expect that there would be a select tool so that I could select objects and move them around but all I find is tools to paint with and such. Surely there is a way to move a text box around.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhile trying to type a text in Greek language on a photo. I have to tell you that i have done in the past many times this job (type Greek letters on a photo for watermarks etc) with the same program and the same computer until two days ago!
I checked the input method, i resetted the values inside the options from gimp preferences , i uninstalled the program twice and reinstalled it, i removed all the app Data for the specific software but still doesn't work. When i try to type Greek letters , i get strange symbols that i cannot paste here! It pastes normally the characters that i wrote on. I use gimp 2.8.3 and my OS is Mac OS Lion 10.7.4
When I insert a standard 6" square tube into an assembly there are all of the custom shapes and standard structural members to choose from. When I try to put the same tubing into a part file only the custom shapes are visible and no standard parts to choose from.
I can only guess that I have some obscure check box missing. There appears to be no good reason why I would be restricted in part files.
I did put a real photo in the background of my website to fit entire page. So the text of my webpage is black, and sometimes other colors. So what happen is that some times the text is hard to read when it come on top of dark places of the photo (for example hear of people). So i want to adapt the photo to make it more unicolor, more whiten (increase whiteness) so the black text will appear even better.
What tools and filters in gimp that give me this ability to do that ?
I'm currently using the "Make components" feature to convert solid bodies into parts. This works great, but we use this method to construct angular roof structures, and after the parts have been made the parts have angular relationships to the .ipt files UCS co-ordinates. It would be very useful if I could align the longest edge of the part (Which is a timber truss) with the x axis in the model space and "lay" the plank flat on the X-Y plane.

I've a vague notion that this could be done with a dynamic block and a few fancy expressions. I'm comfortable with expressions, but I've never used dynamic blocks at all, so I wouldn't know where to start.
To be clear, I know curved text is possible, but I'm looking for a curved line (ie an arc) that would look 'parallel' to the arc of the feature line (ie have the same centre point). This would have to be dynamic to allow for different radii and for flipping to the left and right side of the feature line.
I like using the edit label text in the lable styles to add additional text and information.
I can turn on / off the backroung mask for all the style but not each.
Is there a way to turn on / off the backround mask of each layout text.
I'm using civil 3d 2012 and testing 2013.
