how can I make my images HD (high definition) in Gimp? like there are HD TVs I want to make my images have an HD look to it. I know it is possible to convert SD to HD because I've seen old sports games that were played before HD TVs were invented and the game was converted into HD. although it is not the same as if it was originally recorded in HD
whether the image looks like a SD to HD conversion or looks pure HD, it doesn't really matter to me...
Im starting to make wallpapers for mobile phones and i want to make them so there "VERY" High Definition but im not sure how i can do this, i use photoshop for all my wallpaper i make.
I love to draw, I would like to use my drawings on some iPhone game. I am wondering how I can process the drawings I scanned into a high definition image? I do my drawings in old fashion paper and pencil way, once The drawings were scanned, the resulting images look very rough, for example, the lines are showing the pencil marks, a straight line has a few bumps in the middle, and circles seem a bit off, is there a way in Gimp to do some fine tuning on the images?
I have just bought a High Def camcorder hoping to get a better picture result onto DVD. I have been using VideoStudio 12 (pro2) for some time now and have only transfered normal camcorder video onto DVD in the past. Do I need to do anything different in the editing/ DVD stage to gain the benifit of High Def ? and would using a Blu Ray disc change anything? Can I get recordable Blu Ray discs, and do I have to have a High Def / Blu Ray recorder on my laptop to get the result I need?
I am purchasing a new computer and whether nVidia or AMD would be better for use with Photoshop CS6. In my previous computers, I've only ever had an integrated video card and they worked okay enough with Photoshop. But now I have the opportunity to purchase a computer with an nVidia/2 Gig Vram or an AMD Radeon/1 gig VRAM video card.
I know so much depends on the cpu speed, ram, whether or not you have multiple hard drives, etcetera. What I want for all the other components of the computer, but I have no working knowledge of video cards.
I use Photoshop for photo editing and I also want to eventually use it for High Definition Photography editing.
I'm quite a newbie at image editing, I only use The Gimp to resize pictures and to do similar "simple" tasks. For a few times now, and more systematically since the last update, The Gimp crashes while opening high-res images (at least 1000x1000 px).
ex. [URL] ......
Although I can randomly succeed in opening this kind of files, I always have to retry several times.
I'm using it in Windows 7 Pro SP1, installed the latest version for Windows 2.8.4 (in French).
Note: I found a rather similar thread here: [URL] ..... but the guy uses The Gimp on Mac OS X while I have Win7.
I am trying to create 48"x60" banners with text and high res images. Basically I am exporting a large 48"x60" .odt (open office) file as a PDF at 300dpi so I can then import it in to GIMP. When I try to import the pdf at 14400 (width), 18000 (height), & 30o resolution I get the following: ------ GIMP Message Plug-in crashed: "file-pdf.exe" (C:Program Files (x86)GIMP-2.0libgimp2.0plug-insfile-pdf.exe)
The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.
Gimp Message Opening 'C:UsersDUSTINDesktopWORKLR2 NO IMAGES.pdf' failed:
Procedure 'file-pdf-load' returned no return values ------------ The printing company is requesting my file be at 300dpi so that is why I am trying to import at 300 resolution. I am guessing this is a bug. My question is can I somehow just open the .odt file in gimp and add my high resolution images to it there? Is there a plug in for .odt in GIMP?
A way to make color book images out of a color photo. Want to keep clean solid lines so it is clear but when I do it, the image always comes out distorted and fuzzy.
I have one picture of my office building and one picture of an airplane . I want to make the airplane fly and crash into the building and explode. If it's possible to make it in GIMP, how can i do it?
More importantly - how is this technique called? jpg animation? I'm new to graphic editing and don't even know how to name certain things or techniques, so i need some keywords for further research.
I'm also have adobe premiere elements, would this application be useful in creating such projects from pure jpg images?
I've downloaded some texture maps of Earth and Mars that consist of a number of JPG images that are all 1024 pixels square. What I want to do, and I've tried and failed so far, is to combine the separate images to make one big map of the planet surfaces. I assume this will be possible by tiling the images.
I've had a google around but can't find any tutorials related to combining sections of a map together.
I am making an image smaller (from 1200 pixels wide to 700), and no matter what I try it always turns out pixelated. I hate it! I just want the size of the image to get smaller without compromising the quality of said image. Here's what I've tried:
- Saving to different formats before resizing (TIF, PNG, etc)
- Changing the X and Y resolution from 150, to 300, even 900 before resizing. It seems to have no effect.
- Changing the interpolation from cubic to the others (the others ones all look worse)
I am at a loss! I am using "image/scale image" to resize, by the way. And the original image was a 1200-wide TIF. I don't see why I'm not able to increase the number of pixels while making the image smaller to maintain the integrity of the original image.
I want to join 2 images together to make a bigger image, the easiest way to explain it is, say 1 image is 10cm x 5cm and the other is 18cm X 7cm and I want to put both together to make a new image 14cm X 10cm. They need resizing too.
Im trying to make a label for my CD using PS7, and I wanted to put a high rez business image on it. I know on the internet you can buy high rez CD's, but unfortunately I dont have alot of money. Can anyone suggest where I can find free high rez images. I was thinking of trying some of my local libraries to see if they would have any high rez image CD's,
I signed up for a trial awhile back but never did anything with it, so I have no trial offering available now.I am wondering how their high resolution image product looks in 20 to 30 scale viewports, if their high resolution image is rubber sheeted over a 25-30 acre townhome site.
I would want them to look less fuzzy and grainy than the USGS NED 1/3 meter images I tried. How does the curb and gutter and sidewalk look when used as an underlain to as-built survey linework at this scale?
Just scanned an image at 600dpi resolution, is it ok for printing a 2' x 1' image from a studio ? or should I go for high resolution ? + There is some dust at that resolution so how can I get rid of it ?Thanx waiting for your replies.
I work in PS CS2, and I would like to know some basic techniques for "cleaning" this jpegs as being extracted from a dvd often look quite fuzzy, so that they look quality enough to print on a larger scale! edit: oh yeah and can someone also redirect to a good tool for capturing stills? I used vlc player so far, but it only gives out png's...probably not the best format.
I will make an application for windows 8. So in the application, i will use traffic signs. However i need to seperate the icons one by one and save all of the icons one by one as "png" so how can i do this? you can download "AI" file by this link:[URL]
I'm making some retopology with a high-polygon model and a low polygon, using Polydraw, On surface.
I "picked" the low polygon model by mistake and all the vertices on the high polygon model are visible and I can't make them disappear, even reselect the high one again. I tried Select Vertices (with the 1 key) but it doesn't do anything.
Please see the attached screenshot.
Is that a bug? How do I make the vertices disappear?
Just noticed that when I save a job as a pdf in Illustrator CS6 the images become pixelated. The image is currently 300dpi in photoshop. I have tried several methods. I have to scale it down small, but I can't figure I've tried different settings with the pdf.I have also scaled it in photoshop and still doesn't matter.
I am making a large back drop with a collage of photos of people. each image ranges from 8x12 to 16x 20....the photos I got from the professional photographers are showing up fine. My photos, taken with a 5D in Raw and exported at high res are showing up grainy...not sharp! I tried the raster settings like a friend suggested and set it to 150ppi or even 300ppi and no change..
In Bridge you can enhance imported thumbnail images to a high quality, however in Lightroom 3 or 4 this does not appear to be the case, with images appearing of a lesser quality. Is there a process in Lightroom which will enhance thumbnail images to a high quality as in Bridge.?
When I edit images on Photoshop It looks clear and crisp, I save as an PNG file and then upload it to eg. Facebook or tumblr the images then look really grainy, bluured and pixelated!
I Have my graphics processor as "Normal" and I haven't messed about with the settings much!
OK, I'm creating a tradeshow graphic for a client. I designed the whole thing in Illlustrator CS6. But for the proof, I used a low res image of the sky (before we purchased it). Everyone was happy. It was a low-res RGB image imported into Illustrator, then the whole thing was exported as a pdf.
Once they approved it, I purchased the high res image. RGB. Same image... just high res. I popped it into the Illustrator file and exported it in exactly the same way. But now, the image looks much more purple. The low res pdf showed it as much brighter, lighter blue.
My client prefers the lighter blue. When I look at the two images in Photoshop, they look the same (in terms of color). should I be worred? Why is there such a color difference?
I recently re-installed Gimp onto my MacBook Pro after doing a clean install I was hesitant because I did not want to install X11 again. So now that Gimp is Mac native I am happily working with it again. My problem is that every time I try to edit a high resolution photo that I have taken with my Canon Rebel T3i Gimp crashes.
My MacBook specs are:
2.7 GHz i7 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
