GIMP :: Can't Get Font Size To Show Up
Nov 6, 2012I do love GIMP but having a serious problem. When I go to use text, I simply can't get the font size to show up so I can adjust it.
PS using 2.6, this laptop can't do 2.8.

GIMP :: Font Won't Show Up (OSX)
Aug 15, 2013I'm using MAC OSX.
I downloaded a font called Palace Script in ttf format. I found my fonts folder in Gimp and copied the font file to the fonts folder.
Then I restarted Gimp.
The font does not show up when I try to select it.
I also tried installing the font using the font manager and it installed, and I can only use it Pages.
GIMP :: Font Size When Converting XCF To PDF
Jul 24, 2013Am making a brochure, use the pre-set A5 print size. All great, but when converting the XCF file to PDF the fonts are not represented correct and are drastically reduced in size.
I tried the flattening option, but that takes a lot of resolution/sharpness out of the file and makes it less fit for printing.

Apr 29, 2013Wow, I am trying to ask about the lack of fonts in Gimp 2.8.4, when I cannot find a font list or size list here on this document!
Edit/ Preferences states that the fonts are to be found in the following directories:
C:UsersHubert.gimp-2.8fonts
C:Program FilesGIMP 2sharegimp2.0fonts (note the '2.0')
The first one is empty, and the second one does not exist.
This problem has been mentioned on the internet, but no answer has yet been stated.
I don't know how to populate those spaces with fonts that can be used by Gimp.

Nov 19, 2012I have recently upgraded to Gimp 2.8.3 on my Mac OS Snow Leopard, primarily for the new "export to PDF" feature that would keep text searchable within PDF.
The results are very odd... The text in the exported PDF is, indeed, searchable and copyable, but the font size shrinks drastically (see attached screenshot).
GIMP :: Increasing Font Size Of Tips At Bottom Of Image Window?
Sep 7, 2013I just upgraded to GIMP 2.8.4 for Mac after spending months using an older version. At the bottom of the image window are tips for using whatever tool one is currently using. Unfortunately, these tips are TINY! I can barely see them! Is there any way to increase their size via GIMP preferences?
Note that I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to editing program code so if this is required I will need specific step by step instructions.
EDIT: Additionally, I've noticed that image windows always stay behind the toolbox and layer windows. Is there any way to reverse the ordering? (So that image windows can move in front of the toolbox/layer window?) With multiple image windows open on a small screen I need all the space I can get.

Feb 20, 2012We are overlaying a word or two on jpg's. In the settings bar along the top, the font is set to 8pt.That has worked seamlessly, for some time. Suddenly, though the pt setting is not changed, the actual text over the photo is larger - much too large to fit. But changing the pt setting to a lower number still results in something too large.
is the sudden change in outcome, when there has been no change in the setting. And no ability to get a correct font size.This is in Ps CS4, on Mac 10.6.8. I have checked the font in Font Book (Myriad Pro), and no corruption appears for the font.

I purchasde a new Pc with Windows 8, and the Photoshop and Bridge Interface is not readable, it is miniscule, Adobe, Microsoft and DEll cannot fix problem. So I am returning my PC, and need to purchase a new one, if the font is big enough, say size 12 or 14 (normal size) on window 7?

Aug 20, 2008When I type in my font, Photoshop CS3 will only show the upper case character, and when I attempt to type the text in lower case, it just types the upper case but smaller. I don't have any problems with any other fonts, and this font works fine in every other text program I am working with...
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the font multiple times.

A customer specific font has been installed in Windows and shows up in Notepad, Microsoft Office 2010 and other programs including Photoshop CS6. For InDesign I had to copy it to the "Programdirectory"Fonts folder and this worked fine. Only Illustrator CS6 doesn't show this Font (a TrueType font "cust.ttf") as available when I want to format a text with it. I've searched Google and Adobe but no luck so far. CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Font Substitution Dialog Doesn't Show Missing Fonts
Nov 16, 2012I just tried to open a CorelDRAW document on my other computer where I'm obviously missing one of the document's fonts.
Problem:
The CorelDRAW font substitution dialog does not list the missing fonts:
Thus, it's impossible to install them to get the document working as expected.x.

Jun 22, 2013Come across this really irritating bug in Ps CS6 x64 ... I can't set the size of a text layer - it jumps back to the above size. I have quit and reloaded PS CS6 but the same happens.
It was working OK earlier, but this has started happening - On Win 7x64 with latest PS CS6 update.

Jun 21, 2012I go to Preferences>Interface>Text>UI Font size and change it to Large. After a PS restart, the UI font is large and readable. But after a few PS openings and closings it always reverts back to the default Small size. It never seems to remember my setting.

Sep 17, 2005I have Adobe Photoshop 8 CS which I've used many times before without a problem. Recently I re-installed Windows XP (which I've also done many times before) and I noticed after re-installing Photoshop I cannot add text to images.
Whenever I try, I am able to select the area where I want to add text but the cursor doesn't appear and the font size is set at 0.01. I try to set the font size higher and it continuously drops back to zero. Oddly though, I am able to add text to images in Image Ready without a problem.
I've tried re-installing Photoshop again, cleaning the registry and temp files between installs and I get nowhere. I've never experienced this problem before and I'm usually the one giving help advice as opposed to getting it but here I seem to have no choice except to swallow my pride and ask. Would it be an issue with the font settings somewhere in Windows or has something perhaps messed up my registry?

Aug 4, 2008When I try to enter type on a Photoshop CS3 doc, the text is humongous. If I set the font size down to 6pt it still is over 200 pixels high. Anything over 20pt is taller than my monitor.
I never installed the beta CS3, did have CS2 prior to upgrading.

Nov 27, 2012I made orange letters in a font sized 142. But when I made a new layer and then made white letters to put on top of the orange ones--I also use font size 142, but it was smaller than the orange font. So I couldn't put it one top of the other letters for the 3-D look.
It's close, but not quite close enough to fit as it should. Do the differing colors make a difference in how the font of the same size is different? Or is it using different layers?

Sep 6, 2011How does one affect the size of fonts and menus so you can see with less eye strain? I just plugged in a couple of Dell 30" monitors to work with this but find all of the menus and dialoges to be very small at the 2600x1900ish res. Windows XP display settings found in the control panel do not seem to affect the 3ds UI at all.
