View 2 RepliesThere seems to be tons of threads on how to make a transparent image, but I haven't been able to fine one to do one specific thing.
How do I set the alpha channel to be black? I want to have a black background on a png file, but I need the black to be transparent to things behind it on a webpage.
Is there a swap color hotkey in photo paint? I look in customization, din't found any.Is there a way to delete a pixel?

Is there an easy way in GIMP to invert the alpha channel of an image? Transparent should be opaque, opaque should be transparent, almost transparent should be almost opaque, etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working on a forum template (phpBB), and I want to invert the colours of the background. I did it easily for some pictures, but I can't invert one of them.
It's a simple gif, I don't know why I can't invert it. When I go to the menu 'colours'->'invert', the option is disabled, even if I tried with several tools selected.
how can i flatten this image and invert its color?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't do a lot of digital coloring or painting but when I do it's very comic book style. I have a method I use (you hay have seen it at polykarbon.com.)
This is how it works. Get some good clean line art in RGB mode.
In Channels, duplicate the blue layer and INVERT it.
Go back to the Layer fill the whole image with white. Then create two new layers above the background layer.
On the top layer, go to Select and pick Load Selection. Pick Blue Copy. You see the marching ants.
Fill this selection with black. Now you have a layer of your line art, a middle layer on which you can color without messing them up, and then a background.
I haven't been able to do this in Gimp. I'm willing to learn a new coloring method but I really like this one. It's easy and fast and really allows for a lot of customization. You can color the lines, do masks, etc.
My problem is the part about INVERTING the channel.
Is there a way to make the cross hairs default to the inverse of the color under them (e.g. black when over white, blue when over yellow, cyan when over red, etc.)? I remember that it did this in previous versions, but I can't find a setting for it in 2011.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI saw a macro that does this a while ago, but I could very well be wrong. If it doesn't already exist, I am not even sure if it is possible, so I thought I'd ask the Macro Masters here!
Lets say I have a page fill of objects/shapes/text with all sorts of different colors.
I select the black color (or whatever color) but would actually like to select ALL colors other than the black color that I have selected.
So, if I have a page with Black, Red, Green & Blue shapes, I select an object colored black, the macro would then select ALL objects/text on the page that are NOT black.
What I want to know is if there is a way to make a hotkey or at all save specific options for specific tools. Let's say I'm using the 'Paintbrush, Opacity 70%, Hardness 075, Size 4.00' as my "standard outline tool". Can I some how save that preference (and any other tool such as "Specific Eraser Op. 100%, Hard. 100, Size 10.00) so that I can easily switch between "Ouline Brush" and "Specific Eraser" . Maybe to the 'f-buttons'
I'd like to be able to make maybe 5 specific tools:-Outline Brush
-Small Eraser
-Big Eraser
-Detailed Color brush
-Big Color Brush.
what is meant by the term "neutral color"? I would guess that it is any shade between and including black & white on the grey scale?
Question 2..........can the middle eyedropper in CURVES be used on any "neutral color"?
What exactly does a 2 or 3-color print mean? Is it the number of spot colors (eg, Pantone colors) used for the artwork, or the number of process colors used
(C, M, Y and/or K)?
using photoshopCS2,the hotkey malfunction suddenly, even simple hotkey like Ctrl+N or Ctrl+O can't use too.
View 1 Replies View Relatedin 7.0 if you held Shift, Alt, or Ctrl and held your cursor over a layer in the layer panel box it would either add/subtract/not select whatever the contents were inside the layer and in Photoshop CS2 I don't know how to do that or set that.

I've remove the hotkey ctrl + q from the file>quit command and assigned it to something else, but the quit command is still using that hotkey! Tried with fresh pref files and still no joy.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been modeling something with a symmetry modifier, and it has been working great. But, recently I feel like something has changed...
Â
When I select, for example, a vert (or anything for that matter) and attempt to center my view and orbiting origin in the viewport -- max seems to think I am selected BOTH the vert I selected and the mirrored vert on the other side of the symmetry.
Â
Has this simply always been the case? I feel like, in the past I was able to center in on a single vert in the past... but accedentally I think I toggled something where it is behaving like I am selected both sides, and centers BOTH selections in the view.
i'd like to change hotkey of falloffs from ctrl+1 etc. to shift+1 - i can type these setting, click "done" but after this it doesn't work.
And another curious case is there a possibility to catch some workflow from 3d coat -> push RMB then slide left <--> right to change brush size (with ALT change brush strenght)? ( i dont need useless marking menu)
I want to change the CTRL+Backspace hotkey but I can't find the command in "Customize User Interface".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have used smoke for a few years now, and one of the things that I find frustrating is the camera controls in action.Would it be possible to have a control hotkey set-up like maya/XSI/3DS? Some other softwares allow you to choose the keyboard set-up.
Using the maya set-up:
Alt - left mouse : tumble
Alt - middle mouse : track
Alt - right mouse : dolly
This means while looking though the lens you can move the camera in any orientation, you only need to hold down the alt key and use the 3 button mouse/Wacom to navigate.
The undo hot key seems flaky. Often the Mac menu based undo works, but the option + z only works sometimes. It does something, but that's not an undo.
Is this a bug? I think ESP. In certain CFX modules...
