I'm looking for something that interpolates an image to a larger size better than just normal interpolation within the application.

Photoshop :: HELP NEEDED W/ Genuine Fractals
Sep 1, 2002I have installed Genuine Fractals to try out. It is supposed to be a PhotShop plug-in.
But now I can't find it listed under filters or anywhere else.
Although by default it installs into the Plug-ins>File Format directory, after not being able to find it in PhotoShop I also copied into the plug-in folder too in case it needed to be there instead.
It does show up in the Help> About Plug-Ins list although it offers no help. It just shows that I have 20 uses left on the trial.

Dec 4, 2008I have downloaded the CS4 update for Genuine Fractals and Print Pro. When I was running the earlier version in PS CS3 On One was a menu item. Now I cannot get it to appear there.

GIMP :: How To Use Plug In Browser
Mar 3, 2012I am wondering how to use the plug in browser as if I am correct a plug in that is properly installed should show here and the tree view show where to access it.
Under file -->create -->buttons we have round buttons and simple beveled buttons but in the plug in browser tree view they come under file -->create .
Some of the plugins that do show up (3D outline) are temporary procedures. many others I cant even find (speed text). Is the problem the plug in browser or me if me where am I wrong ?
GIMP :: Additional Add-ons Like Plug-ins
Sep 19, 2013I just downloaded Gimp 2.8 and was wondering if there was anything else I needed to download before I got started with the learning curve, and it looks like a long one.
Many times when you download a program like this, you notice there are a lot of additional add-ons, like plug-ins, etc., and when you start to read about them everything kind of runs together and becomes much more complicated than it should be. I'm afraid I might step into the trap of wanting everything right now instead of just working with what I need.

Jun 30, 2012I want to create a plug-in that will improve detail in under- and over-exposed areas of photos, but I can't get as far as duplicating a layer. I'm new to GIMP plug-ins. My plug-in below is intended to create a copy of the image's layer and add the layer to the image.
The plug-in will register in Windows 7 (GIMP 2.8) but won't register in Ubuntu 12.04 (GIMP 2.6.12). In Windows, the plug-in gives an error. I don't get an error if I comment out line 8: Code:

GIMP :: Extension Box To Select The File Type
Jun 24, 2012Ive recently upgraded to the new GIMP 2.8 and I cant seem to save files as anything other than gimp project files. I open the extension box to select the file type and there just isnt the option anymore. Do i have to reinstall GIMP or should I revert back to 2.6? I wouldnt think they would get rid of the ability to save in different formats so there must be a problem somewhere.

Sep 29, 2011I've had trouble creating a certain type of motion blur effect. Typically, motion blur radiates outward from one single point. However, What I would like is for a whole section of an image to be clear (for instance, a character's torso) and then have the image GRADUALLY get blurrier from there.
I cannot figure a way to do this (apart from a very long process of creating many duplicate layers and doing an independent motion blur for each one).
Attached is an example of what my attempts look like right now: an obvious line around the region that I'm trying to showcase, rather than a smooth, gradual transition into the motion blur.

Jan 28, 2013while trying to type a text in Greek language on a photo. I have to tell you that i have done in the past many times this job (type Greek letters on a photo for watermarks etc) with the same program and the same computer until two days ago!
I checked the input method, i resetted the values inside the options from gimp preferences , i uninstalled the program twice and reinstalled it, i removed all the app Data for the specific software but still doesn't work. When i try to type Greek letters , i get strange symbols that i cannot paste here! It pastes normally the characters that i wrote on. I use gimp 2.8.3 and my OS is Mac OS Lion 10.7.4

Nov 2, 2012I've been messing around with this shape, mostly based on ideas from the skull medallion tutorial over at Gimp users, and was wondering what is causing the white jagged line that appears along the bottom of the wing and also to the outer edges. It only appears after I have run the Lighting Effects filter.It's not too obvious on the full size image of the batman type symbol, but becomes quite noticeable when a section is enlarged.

Jan 23, 2012I want to make colouring book pictures for my students from photographs of themselves (want to see kids get excited about something - give them a picture of themselves to colour in). Right now I am using the cartoon filter, desaturating the image and then painstakingly selecting by colour, each greyscaled set of pixels and then cutting them so that in effect, the image becomes a traced black and white image. I am wondering if there is an easier way to do this - I have tried using the threshold and levels filters - but I find that it makes the image too pop-arty, like those Che Guevara type T-shirt graphics. Ideally I want to literally make the image look like colouring book picture or a stamp. Is there an easier way to do that without having to pick and delete the greyscaled parts of the image?

Feb 11, 2014I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?
