GIMP :: Change Cloudy Sky To Blue
Jan 24, 2012
Have photos from trip to Japan and Grand Tetons that are cloudy. Is there a way to change the sky to blue. I have pictures of only sky I have taken that I thought I might be able to use as a layer or in some other manner.

I saved a logo I've completed at work using CS6, and saved it in CS5 format and also as a PDF. However when I open them both (one in illustrator and the other in Adobe Reader) they both have a cloudy, hazy effect over them. The colours aren't bright and crisp like they were when I saved them at work in CS6. I have them saved as RGB as well...at least that's what it showed the document colour mode was when I checked it

For CS6:
I've had this problem before... where I go to hit a keyboard shortcut and end up in some sort of gray scale mode. I'm not actually in "gray scale" though; I'm still in RGB mode but the image title bar says "blue/8".
I've tried everything I can think of, but now many of my options have been grayed out and I can't select certain menu functions. There was an easy fix with CS4 I found online, but I don't remember what it was and this seems different.

If I have an image that has plenty of a certain hex colour A in it, and I want to change all pixels of that colour to another hex colour B, how do I do that?
I want it to intelligently convert pixels of other colours, i.e. a colour that is half-grey half-A becomes half-grey half-B, a pixel that is transparentesque A becomes transparentesque B, and so on.
How do I do this on paint.net or possibly with any online tool available.

I'd like to change the white background to sky blue, to the left of the woodpecker in this photo I took.
I've been trying selections and then refining the edge with various settings. I've tried a selection with the barely recognizable branch on the bottom left and without the branch in the selection.
Once I have a selection with a refined edge I've been using Image>Adjustments>Saturation to change the color with the Colorize option checked on.
I can't get the white background to light blue without making it obvious. The blue sky and edge of the tree just doesn't look right (I forgot the term).
Would anyone have some advice on how to change the white background to a natural blue sky color and have it merge well with the bark edge? Removing the left bottom branch from the photo would be fine.
I attached the full photo scaled down to 500x375 and a larger section of the left hand side.

I would like to ask some very simple, but not sure that there is some keyboard combination in Xara Designer Pro.
Basically I have to type a long text, some words with normal default black color characters, and some with blue.
My target would be with some keyboard shortcut maybe quickly change the color to blue and after black and so on, do you have some proposal to this?
Currently I am just typing everything in black and after one by one selecting the words and applying Set Fill Color to make them blue.

Is there a plugin or something that will allow me to change all pixels that match a certain color value to another color value? So let's say I have a picture that has red, green and blue on it. And I want to change every pixel that is blue to yellow.

I've been trying to solve this problem for the past months. Everytime I needed our company logo, but everytime it failed and I setteled for the low resolution blue logo I allready have.
So far I tried combinations of the following:
changing .tiff into .PSD
grayscale into CMYK
changing hue and saturation
1 goto Layer - New adjustment layer - Curves - change the blend mode to "Screen"
2 goto Layer - New adjustment layer - Curves - change the blend mode to "Multiply"
this all results in a slightly lighter or darker picture, but no color..
Heinthis is the actual image

I'm trying to change a template from black, to a shade of blue. Rather than just filling everything in and having it look choppy, I'm selecting each pixel with the global Magic Wand and matching the exact transparency. Is there a more efficient way to do this? A plugin, maybe?

I have used gimp for years, and never tried to remove a blue cast from an image. I have several images I have shot over the years, of winter scenes, now I want to see them in "normal" colors. I tried a couple of plugins and gimp operations, but I have no real good results.

I'm using GIMP 2.6.11 on Windows 7 x64. As you can see from the following screen shot, the menu's text is black on blue highlight, which makes it very hard to read. I'd like to know how to fix it. Funny thing is, it doesn't happen on Windows XP.

I have a blue line in gimp I've been trying to get rid of. It's not part of any layer so I can't erase it, its thickness scales with zoom; and it also doesn't render in the final product, but it's irritating to look at.

I am working on drawings in which some of the text is in yellow which is great on a black background. After printing the yellow becomes very hard to see on white paper. I know I know I could change the color of the layer before plotting but I was hoping for a seamless way of doing it. Is there a way to display colors in yellow and plot in blue similar to white/black?

When adding a foreground image to a "flaming" blue background, I find that the image I add takes on the blue colors of the background, rather than keeping its original colors.
The linework and highlights (indeed, most of the detail) remain - they just all turn blue, heh. Like it's trying to camouflage itself. How do I keep the foreground image from "masking" itself to the colors of the background?
Both background and foreground image layers are in .xcf format. Could this be the problem? Do I need to change one or both to something like .jpg or .gif?

Referring to the image attached, this is my question: I want to make all the blue and red in the image of one plain shade. You can see that in the image there are couple of patches of red and blue color separated by while lines. Now inside one of these colored patches (which is isolated form another patch by a combination of above mentioned white lines and the boundary of the image itself), the color is either red or blue. This color does not look uniform because this image is a scan of a painting. Hence, although the entire patch is red/blue, not every pixel in that patch is of the same shade. If I wanted to change everything inside one such region to a plain red or blue color, how can I do that? If such is the case then I will try to articulate it better. Find attached, the image.
