View 1 RepliesI have a picture that I like to change the colors on. I have attached the picture. I used the tool select by color which seemed to work but then the instructions I have found said to use the Color Exchange tool but that does not work.

I made an image that has only two colors (not grayscale) only true black and true white. I want to know how to change these colors independently to whatever color. Basically what I did to this image was throw it in MS Paint and converted it to black and white.
How would I change these colors?
I am using the paintbrushes and all I can get is black. How to you change the colors on the Paintbrushes? I have clicked on the "Color Options" in the Paintbrush toolbox but nothing happens.

When using features like auto white balance it takes way too long to change the pixel colors. I have installed GIMP in parallels and it runs faster through the Windows application than it does directly on my Mac. Is this just the result of the mac build being not as refined? Is there a setting that I need to change? I have the Tile Cache on 8GB and number of processors on 8 (4 actual, 4 virtual).

Is there any plug-ins or tools I am missing that can do this? (Basically it will change every pixel in the image to the closest matching pixel from a large [400+ color] palette.
I have been trying (without much success) to figure out a way to change all non-white color elements on a picture to a single set color, and was wondering if that is possible to do in GIMP.
For example, I'd like to turn something like this tri-color Italian flag. To this, where the blue color is a color of my choosing.
I would like to replace a range of colors with a single color in an image.
I know there is the replace color adjustment, but this replaces a single color e.g. 190,190,190 with another color e.g. 200, 200, 200. I would like to replace a range of colors e.g. from 185 to 195 with 200, 200, 200.
I have a volume surface that I want cut & fill displayed with elevation banding. I created a surface style and chose pastels for the color scheme. When I analyze the surface I chose elevations>> range interval with datum and I get 2d solids but they are not pastel even though the style assigned is the one I mentioned.
How do I get the colors to be pastel?

I want to change hair color on a picture (from black to blonde). Those pictures are textures for a game so it is pretty clean and easy to edit usually
I have another pictures with the blonde hairs tones and colors in it.
So i figured i had to save color range or something on the blonde hair picture to apply it on the black hair picture, right ?
I have a image that i need to convert to a set 16-color range... the range is: 209 209 209148 157 15723 19 1963 63 63155 42 38213 118 14452 72 2355 179 4481 48 26182 169 2436 48 14589 128 208122 47 188188 62 19937 109 140233 122 46
How would i go about doing this?
How can I change the range at which blend shapes are created? In other words, blend shapes are created with ranges from 0.0 to 1.0. How could I change it to, for example, -0.4 to 4 without using a custom attribute?
I'm aware I can type -0.4 or 4 in a blend shape target. However, that will mutiply the effect which is not desirable.
We are working with a company that will be sending us DWG files. They do not use the same layer colors as us and I am trying to find a lisp that would allow me to set up a table with the layer names and the color I want them to be so that I can quickly change all the layers to our companys color standards.
Example:
Layer 1 = Color 1
Layer 2 = Color 15
Layer 3 = Color 10
Etc.
I don't know a lot about lisp but I figure if I could find a lisp that did this I could plug in my layer/color assignments and it would work.
I've been using GIMP for a while for basic website stuff. Very basic website stuff. I've recently been asked if GIMP has some more advanced features. Well, advanced put to my usual level of use anyway.
So, I thought I'd query if I could do the following in GIMP...
(1) Edit a BMP but ensure the file size remains the same?
The person asking is using the images for a specific purpose and they always have to be the same size.
(2) Open .pspimages and possibly save back as this format.
The answer to this seems to be no on the opening front anyway.
(3) Restrict the image to a very limited range of colours, say 3-6?
Again this is due to the very specific and restricted nature of the images they are creating.
I'm on a project where I need to export displacement maps / normal maps from zBrush 4.0 to Softimage 2012.
Im using the "Multi Map Exporter" to export the maps out of zBrush.
I know that I have to use the "change range node" between the image and the displacement port of the material and set the displace geometry approx. to "Fine" and play with the settings.
So my questions are:
1. Is there a way to calculate the exact ranges for the "change range node" for the map or is this gueswork?
2. In the geometry approximation what kind of settings are normaly appropriate in terms of mixing rendering speed and highlevel detail (look).
3. I exportet a normal map and pluged it with standart settings to the bump port of the material but the light seems to be inverted. How can I solve this?
when I exercise the opacity slider for an active layer I can see the full range of opacity follow the setting. Somehow I've gotten this v2.6 on a Linux box into a mode where the visible opacity doesn't follow the slider full range. Instead it is all or nothing. At 50% or less opacity the layer is entirely transparent and at 50.1% or more it is entirely opaque.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an online store for flamenco products. We have wide range of dresses and shoes and it's almost impossible to get good quality photos for all of them.
My main concern is that I would like to present all different color options in decent quality imagery. I was thinking of taking the best image for each and simply photo shopping the colors.
Seeing that I will have to do a lot of color options for a lot of dresses and shoes. Moderately quick, decent quality and adaptable to bulk photo shopping.
Basically meaning that I cannot put the care and detail I would if I just photo shopped a single image, I don't need high res pixel perfect quality. It should just look decent and I should be able to do it in a moderate amount of time.
I have a picture with large area of color: #fffdfd, when I save it for web (jpg) this color is changed to #fefcfd (in JPG).
I just can not save as JPG with #fffdfd. (was trying uncheck convert to sRGB, do not embed color profile - always #fffdfd changes to #fefcfd when save for web)
However, color #fefcfd when save for web , does not change.
Why some colors change and some not? Is it a bug ?

Ok I am interested in changing the colors of cars. I.E. I have a 57 Chevy that I am not sure what color I want to paint and would like to use photoshop to help me decide. The only thing I can do is paint it with a flat color I would like to change it right from the actually pic. I can change the hue/ saturation but that also changes the background. Am I supposed to create a layer for the car itself? It seems that when I do that it doesn't do the same color for all of the body. The car right now has different color paint in the jpeg I am using. I could understand if it was just one color that would be easy but I can't seem to do it for multipule colors. But I have seen where guys that have the same color for one particuliar thing be changed for all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to change colors across my entire image. Kind of like the bucket tool when it is on universal, but with a few changes. It would be able to change dark red into dark blue and also light red into light blue at the same time when the tool is used. It would scale based on the lightness of the color throughout the entire image.
I could basically choose blue, click on any red part with the tool, and then every red color (with a certain tolerance) would change into blues of the same lightness and darkness as red. I was thinking that this would be useful for changing the colors of objects that have certain shading effects or shadows in them.
In one of the drawing i use many layers which is different color and used blocks which is also different layer and different color and many more object.I wanna set all color into 253.What is the shortest process about it..I wanna change all layers color into 253..
