I dowloaded Gimp 2.8, but the tool box is not on the opening screen. In fact, no windows are showing. I went through a couple of tutorials on the dockable windows. But I still don't see where the tool box window is. I see tool options and tool presets, but I don't see too box. How to get the default screen with the tool box to show up? It's my first time using Gimp. I accidentally downloaded 2.6 and noticed it did have the correct windows open. But I want to learn Gimp on 2.8.
IProblem 1: Tool Palettes on top of image. I'm using a 15" thinkpad laptop, with I think 1024 x whatever highest resolution. When I use Gimp, my screen real estate is being eaten up by the tool palettes more so than the image I'm trying to work on. I like the tool palettes - I'd like them to stay open - BUT what I'd really like is for the image to lay over top of the palettes, rather than the palettes lying over top of my image.
Problem 2: Zooming and scrolling in the image. I'm not too sure what was different about photoshop in this regard, but I'm having a bear of a time getting my images to zoom and scroll in the manner I was used to in photoshop. What can I change in the Gimp settings to make it behave more like photoshop in that regard? I found one setting to increase window size as the image zooms, but that was worse.
I like a lot of the aspects of Gimp, but these two things are preventing me from getting to use it very much presently.
way of opening images in CS2 where after opening they will appear in the middle of the CS screen rather then in the top left corner?
I can drag and maximize so they appear in the middle, but on reopening another image they default to the top left again, I would like them to always open in the middle?
I am experiencing two problems. One is the tool icons in Photoshop are disappearing on the screen. I move the cursor and see nothing on my screen.
The second problem is at other times the proper tool icon and function is not showing up and working. I select for example the pen tool and the hand tool icon show up and the function works as the hand tool not the pen tool?
The program opens normally and after 3-5 seconds I get a blue screen crash. Just before the crash, photoshop displays a message about a problem with the display driver and GPU. I am unable to read the entire message before the system crashes. I re-installed the video driver and CS4 but the problem persists.
This is a recent phenomena (two days ago). The program operated normally with the current OS/software/hardware configuration for over a year.Windows 7, SP1 (64-bit)Intel Core2 Q9550 @ 2.83gzh, 8gb RAMNVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti video card (updated driver)
I have been trying all morning to get Photoshop CC to open some screenshots I took, something that I've normally had no problem with. Any way I try to open the files (dragging them to the icon in my dock to launch Photoshop, openening Photoshop first and then going to File -> Open and opening them) causes PS to crash. This happens with old screenshots and new screenshots.
I just got a new computer over the weekend and have gone from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. I'm not sure if the issue is with OS 10.8 or Photoshop CC 14.1.2?
Grey Screen when opening a old or new project in CS 5.1....I can then click on the outside of the screen and see the project screen but as soon as I release the mouse button it goes grey again.
When opening up an AutoCAD drawing (double clicking the target drawing, no other autocad files open) the drawing opens up and the AutoDesk Exchange Welcome screen also opens up that is unnecessary and I have to close it out. I can't figure out why this is occurring or how to disable this. No other windows or options occur that asks me to disable this.
I recently reinstalled AutoCAD and am happy with everything else, it seems that when it comes to AutoCAD.
I've rebooted a couple of times, and uninstalled/reinstalled via the CC Control Panel. Even more comical is when I try to retrieve information about my installation I get this error from the Adobe CC site: We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later.
Blank/Black Screen when opening some CorelDraw files.
I have several hundred CorelDraw files with various images and design that I use for printing for our business.
Recently I have opened files to discover either blank or black screen in the CorelDraw file. I can use Object Manager to see that the image and text are still present, but I cannot view it. I can also export the image to a PDF even though I cannot view it. Other files open without any issue. One file opened fine and then when I went to cut an image the file turned black and is now in the same condition as other files with the problem.
The user has Autocad 2014 64 bit Service Pack 1 running over Windows 7 Pro. Everything is working fine until she receives .dwg files from a supplier that uses Autocad 2010. When she opens those files, the screen is empty, no crash/freeze, no error message, just a black background. The other opened files are still there in the background.
The only way she can open the file is by asking a colleague, also running Autocad 2010, to open the file and convert it using the WBLOCK command. After the conversion the Autocad 2014 user can open the file without issues.
Every few weeks when opening a drawing, my computer restarts (just plain crashes windows and it restarts automatically). This only happens using AutoCAD, no other program has done this as of yet. I have no service packs installed and I haven't seen another post that refers to this problem. When I click on "Check for solution", nothing comes up.
Everytime I try to open files created from Microstaion but saved as CAD it blue screens my computer! I have a newer laptop with Windows 7. However, an older computer in our office with Windows XP can open these files with no problem? Both computers have AutoCAD LT 2012.
On my Photoshop Elements 9 Welcome page the "gathering Infomation" thing never finishes. I can I correct this? Some one answered this question in the past but I can't find the answer in these forums and don't remember what they told me to do.
PSE 12 was working fine until I updated to 12.1. The opening screen comes up as before when you click on the desktop shortcut. The organizer will start from the opening screen, but not the editor. I changed the option to have the program open the editor directly instead of the opening screen and now nothing appears when you click on the desktop shortcut. I am able to open both the organizer and editor by clicking on their respective exe files in the program folder. I am running Windows 8.1 / 64 on a Dell Inspiron 3847 w/ 8 GB of memory.
I am facing problem in my AutoCAD2013 (Ultimate version) -
1.While opening any file an alert message is appearing on the screen, for closing the same I Have to use ( X) close many times. 2 After opening the file every time I have to set the AUTOcad default setting once again, it is taking too much time,
I am not in a position to format my PC now, The snap shot is attached herewith.
I am using the final released Photoshop CS6 software, not beta, and am having the same issue with the Patch tool. I start to drag around an area to make a selecton, and the screen goes blank so that I can't see where I'm making the selection. When I release the mouse, the image appears again. Another problem which may be related is that sometimes when I zoom in, the screen goes blank. Closing Photoshop and re-launching it usually fixes the problem, but is an annoying time-waster. I have the most current update from the Cloud for Photoshop CS6, 13.1.2.X64.
I have dual screens. A Dell P190S (1280x1024) and a HP ZR22w (1920x1080). I have also an Intel® Q45 and Q43 Express Chipsets in my desktop PC. When I use PS, sometimes the circle which indicates the size of the draw tool or the earse tool is freezing on my screens. Even if I close PS, it is still there or even when I lock my computer is still there.
When I try to use the rectangular marquee tool to select an area of any image the selection marker leaves dotted artifacts across the parts of the images over which the selection marker has passed.
I have 2 layers, the first is the background layer. Then 2nd layer has a picutre that I have used the ellipse tool on. My question is how can I use the eraser tool on everything outside of the ellipse tool? I can only use it inside.
I have checked the road map for GIMP and I have seen that the Unified transform tool can be expected in version 3.8. (ugh)
Now what I would like to ask is there any tool or plugin for GIMP that can transform my selections? Or is there any open source image editor that can do it.
I'm not an artist and just for this I have to use Photoshop. For me PS is an overkill for just cutting up an image.
I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
I use Photoshop 6. Whenever I open an image, it opens with crop tools around it. I would like to change that and have the images open with the Move tool selected instead. How an I change this default?
