Normally as we are designer we find that there are lots of EPS files are in our computer, but while importing we are not able to view those as a preview in coreldraw so that every time we have to import and view each file.
I had to uninstall X6 for a while until some other issues are fixed, but that's another story. Once I did a repair on X5 and uninstalled the shell extension and reinstalled the X5 version, then ran the SP3 update, I have file icons back in the file open dialog, but with the preview pane active, I still get "This file can't be previewed" instead of the multi-page preview it should have for newer files and the first page preview for older files. I've associated draw files with X5, and everything else works fine, except the file preview.
So for the first time in a very long time, I've found a reason to tap into the clip art collection that comes with Draw. Unlike the old days when a big, bound, full color book used to come with the clip art to identify quickly which specific assets I'd like to use I can't seem to figure out a way to quickly browse the collection without dropping the file into a document, then either keeping it on the page or deleting and moving to the next. I also don't seem to have the ability to turn on file thumbnails in windows explorer on Win7 64-bit (couldn't find a support article that fixed this either)
Any alternative browser maybe to view/preview giant sized .psb files? I am now working on files from 5 - 20 GB each, 30 - 50,000 pixels, and am stuck using Bridge to go thru them, which takes forever to create thumbnails, and is often unreliable, as every now and then Bridge will just refuse to create a thumbnail for a certain image or 2 and drives me crazy.
Am currently using CS3.
Yes I know this is an older version, I just wish there was a more efficient way to preview large files. PS obviously generates a flattened image preview every time u save, but the previews Bridge uses are fairly low res to my eye, yet it still takes ridiculously long to load each one, which I dont understand if during the save that preview image should be 'in' the file anyway.
I've just started to do some work with Inventor 2013 and I noticed that, when creating a section view in a drawing, the preview is always uncut and shaded. Even when creating a partial section, the preview shows the full, shaded assembly. I tried playing with the "Section View Preview as Uncut" setting in Application Options, but this doesn't seem to do anything.
I already check the setting layer assignment with color and linetype all bylayer using the office ctb BUT during preview in plotting it shows too thick. What do I miss to check or do?
I have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.
This seems to be happening to large files in general, but happens more often when saving down from CS6 to CS3 (for preflighting). The files will save, then throw this error when re-opening. The preview of the file in the Finder will disappear and the file becomes useless. We are on Macs running 10.6.8 and Illustrator CS6 (fully patched).
The problem seems to happen ins CS5 and CS6 as well. We have a complex piece of artwork for a foil blister and we use a paragraph of text that has 3 transforms applied to which effectively step and repeat the paragraph of text in a repeat pattern across the artwork. This setup very precisely as it needs to be 100% accurate for print purposes as several units are printed side by side and the repeat runs across the units. Everything is setup correctly in Illustrator and then we re-save as a PDF with 'Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities' on.
We genearally save as a PDF 1.6 but we have tried all the combinations now. The file still looks perfect in Illustrator but when the PDF is opened in Acrobat (any version) the step and repeat (transform) on the paragraph of text is now no longer in alignment on onside of the artwork but still OK on one side. No matter what we do we can't fix this problem andit's recreatable each time. Also it's not file specific as we can build a new file and it will also exhibit the problem. We're only talking about a tiny jump here - <0.2mm but this means the artwork is out of spec.
Is there a way for X6 to show a little preview image when looking through a folder of EPS files to import? Even to have this ability within Windows itself would be nice.
I just installed X4 on new computer running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Have 16GB of ram. Every time I go to print preview it says that "Corel Draw has stopped working" This is the info on the error.

Background: I work IT here at a trophy shop and we do a lot of artwork for plaques and acrylic/glass awards. I am versed in IT but not CorelDraw in-particular.
Problem: Occasionally, we have a problem with the font drop-down menu. The artist will attempt to select a new font for a selected text, and the drop-down menu will flicker as you move the cursor over the fonts, and the preview window to the side trails (where you see the old text preview with the new text preview drawn over it) turning off the font preview fixes the issue, but that preview is essential according to my artists.
I have no JPG preview in connect or windows explorer it shows only an icon, This is only files exported from CD or PP. All other JPG exports from PS or other programs are OK
If I hover over the JPG icon in connect I get a large thumbnail preview that is OK
I have F8 and repaired CD from disc and remove and Installed CD with no fix
Win 7 64bit 8 Core 12Gig Ram all up dates are installed
We are having issues with Corel X6: when we try print preview, the print preview window opens, but after we click print, it just crashes and that's it.
Both corel and Windows are updated, and the machine is clean.
I'm currently working on an XP 32 bit system with AMD Athlon 64 3200+
CorelDraw is displaying a print preview but is otherwise completely idle. It has finished displaying the preview, so it is just waiting for user action but has nothing else to do.
Photopaint in another window was running extruciatingly slow so I checked task manager. CorelDraw.exe was showing to be using 98% of the CPU.
On further investigation, this happens only when the print preview is on the screen. I close the print preview, return to CorelDraw design screen and CPU is 0% when idle. I do another print preview -- 98% CPU again.
I'll try it later on a quad core system, but it seems that print preview should not be hogging the CPU when idle waiting for operator action.
I have a rather large job, a book with 370 pages. when we want to reprint w/o any changes i would like to turn off the print preview to eliminate the delay.
I have installed X5 along with all service packs on my main PC (Win 7 Ultimate 64bt) everything works fine and has done since first install. To use media brushes I click on..
Artistic Media > Calligraphy (for example) in the drop down menu > select a nib style from the next drop down that displays 'samples' of the various nibs. All fine.
As I am having to also work from home too at present, I have installed X5 on my study PC. I try exactly the same proceedure on this other machine (similar spec but Win 7 Pro 32bt) with same service packs, same install disc etc.. and all I get is blank boxes, no nib previews. This happens if I am using standard Corel media or 3rd party brushes??
See screen grabs below:
Nothing shows up..??
... using default Corel media in default Corel directory..
... or 3rd party brushes.
I have tried un-installng and re-installing but no joy. All brushes work and display fine my office PC.???!!
last week I purchased and installed CorelDraw X4. After I had watched the video tutorials I wanted to try out the preview function in the Windows Explorer which should work with Vista and Windows 7. A double click starts Corel X4 properly, but the preview or the thumbnail function doesn't work (message "no preview available"). Curiously the Corel paint Fotos work in the preview pane. Only cdr-files aren't previewed.
In the scrapbook the cdr files are displayed correctly.
I use Corel Draw x6 running Vista Home Premium. In Windows Explorer, I've never been able to view CDR images as anything but icons. After reading a few forum posts, I experimented with changing the file associations to Windows Photo Gallery and then back again to CD x6. This didn't change the situation.
I've also run into a problem in Tools, Options, Global, Filters, associate. Associations with CDR and WMF won't stay. I check them, but the next time I open Filters, they are unchecked.
I just want to see a thumbnail of a CDR or WMF file before I open it in Corel Draw. I don't even have a preview pane in the open screen. Am I supposed to have a preview pane? All I have is File Name and File Format Type.
We recently upgraded to X5 and are having trouble with the Previews for JPEG. When I try to preview a jpeg under the standard cmyk setting it comes up as a black box. If I change it to RGB then I can see it. It didn't happen at first but once I downloaded the update it started.
