I am using windows 7 64bit and I have install Corel X5 & X6 both on my machine. When there was only corel x5 installed I was able to see thumbnaill view of CDR files in windows explorer but now when I have install x6 I am unable to see CDR file's thumbnail view.
When I'm working in PS CS and open a folder of pictures it always reverts to List view even though I exited last time in Thumbnail view. How can I set it to open in Thumbnail view by default?
I've recently installed X4 (running it on Windows 7) and for some reason when I open the scrapbook I can't preview any of the thumbnails - they just appear as a generic symbol (see below). How do I change this so that I can view the thumbnails properly?
I've also changed the settings so that once a bitmap has been inserted, I should be able to double-click to open the bitmap in Photo paint - but this doesn't work either!
on WinXp and i think Max 8, you used to be able to see a max file as a thumbnail in windows. This meant if you wanted to merge a character, for instance, you didn't have to click though 50 files whilst looking at the preview window, you just viewed the folder by thumbnail and quickly grabbed the right file.
After going to max 9 (again, not too sure on versions) and vista we lost that ability, I posted around at the time but found no solutions.
So, I'm on windows 7 64 bit now and Max 2011 and was curious if this feature was ever fixed or even addressed/dismissed formally by Autodesk?
In the newest version of Paint.net how do you get the thumbnail view to be the default type of view when opening a file in Windows XP? Instead it always defaults to LIST view when you open the program. In my current old version 3.2 it saved the last view 'state' you used but this is gone in the newer versions - at least since 2008.
Windows by default saves the last view 'state' of a folder when last accessed and the old version of Paint.net also had this windows behavior. MS Word, Excel, ect.. also has this behavior and saves the last open file view state you used. Paint.net does not respect the windows folders default view state - it uses its own and defaults it to LIST every time.
I have not been able to upgrade Paint.net for years because LIST view is worthless when viewing hundreds of pictures. Is there any way to get the default windows behavior back or is there a setting that saves the file open view state?
How can I view the thumbnail picture on a .psd file in CS6. All I get is a blue box with psd/PS on it instead of the picture that's on that file. This is very annoying because if I'm looking for a specific .psd file I have to look on my picture viewing software, find out what the file name is and then pull it up on photoshop. I have CS3 and I have no problem seeing the picture.
I am looking at my thumbnails in Library mode. How to I determine which was the last image I edited?
I edit my images in sequence. Often I need to leave a particular set of images to work soemwhere else in LR. On returning I need to easily see which was the last image I edited so I can continue in the sequence. At the moment I go into develop mode and check in the history. That though is a long way round.
When searching for files I've worked on using File>Open in CS6, the List view of the folder no longer shows a thumbnail of the file. This is ridiculous, as every other version of Photoshop has had it, and everyone is complaining.
Why isn't Adobe responding to this? With the frequency with which we have to update to be able to update rather than buying the entire version, we shouldn't be losing functionality in the program. How about it Adobe?????
When using Content Centre, in the Favourite’s section, the Tree View will not default to Thumbnail View. Every time I close the Content Centre it reverts back to Tree View.

Why not have a swipe option for the Record viewer on the right side in Thumbnail View and allow locking the source thumbnails to sync with each other - Flame style (just no Reel view). If this could be saved with the current folder view it would largely cover a toolset comment I made before plus another great way to edit quickly.
who said that for editing there should only be one source window ? Why not multiples ? In fact, isn't that a large part of editing in the first place ? Allow multiple selections in the thumbnail view and link the sources together, select a point in the timeline and go to town for checking your editorial options.
This is really about gaining a functionality that’s around in AVID and used extensively by editors I’m trying to get on board with considering smoke as a real alternative. The Reel Locking mechanism in Flame is a great tool that could be expanded upon massively and brought into smoke via synched/locked multiple selection in the thumbnail view.
And another - The ability to see an edit as thumbnail view that can be re-arranged so you can group shots per your own liking but still allows drag and drop FX. This would allow another view on an edit that is incredibly powerful for many functions but color correction an obvious one. If you could save these 'views' you could have a fantastic basis for management.
I thought I had this figured out but it appears to occur somewhat randomly. Since upgrading to Windows 8 when I export files that I have imported from Canon raw .CR2 for some files it gives an error that "the file could not be written" and lists the original source .CR2 file name. It does not do it everytime but once it happens it happens everytime for that file. When exporting 10 JPG files for example only 3 of them may have this issue. The file still exports and creates the JPG file and the only issue with the exported file appears to be that it did not create the preview thumbnail.
I have tried importing the files into new catalogs, writing to different folders etc but it still happens.
Why is the thumbnail border for some images a different color in grid view? Please see the attached image. I can't figure out why the image on the left is a lighter gray than the two in the middle. The far right image is lighter because it is selected.
Working on a 28:30 project with 8 hours of footage shot over 13 days. I have seperate bins for each day. Some bins are displaying the clips in reverse order while in thumnail view and I cannot change it to be in sequential order. I've tried sorting it in list view first, but that doesn't work. I have the latest version of Premiere CC.
I made a drawing, but after using ilogic (ilogic is in drawing, assembly, part) in it, drawing view of a particular part is coming in hidden line, other are shaded as u can see in image.
Drawing view is associative, all edges shown, level of detail is master, view style is Hidden Line Removal with Shaded

I am not able to save the changes that I make to the starting position of my scenes thumbnails when I use a Thumbnail Menu to create my DVD. I am using Video Studio X4 with Service Packs 1 and 2 installed running on Windows XP Home, SP 2 with all updates installed and DirectX 9.0. The scene changes work fine when I Preview them but they are not saved when I close the Create Disk sub-menu. When I return to the “Menu and Preview” section of the Create Disk sub-menu, the Main Menu scene change is present as is the Chapter 1 scene change but the other chapter scene changes are gone. What can I do to correct this?
Since installing the X6 Trial I have lost the images for my cdr and cpt thumbnails. I haven't decided to upgrade yet but would like my thumbnails images back in the meantime. Do I do a repair with X5?
When I save a Corel X5 file the thumbnail doesn't show an image like it did when I saved a corel file in X3. It shows the green pencil symbol .....is this normal?
In Microsoft windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit when PDF is created in Coreldraw X6 64 bit PDF Icon dont shows Thumbnail on Desktop. I can see the thumbnails from other's PDF
in Corel Draw X4, we can use the scrapbook docker to see thumbnail of locals files, but when this files are on a network share or if this network share is mapped to local drive, thumbnails does not show up. But when I use File/Open to this network share or mapped drive, thumbnails are ok.
I also heard that in X5 scrapbook is depreciated, is there an alternative?
we upgraded to CorelDraw X6. Since yesterday we have been struggling with thumbnail previews under Windows 7 - the feature we loved and got well accustomed to. Earlier we have used X3 version with this preview feature, but with X6 it seems no longer to work.
We have checked the related windows directories as well as the CorelDraw Shell Extension - all things (dlls and exes) look just fine in their places and installed but still we cannot get the thumbnail preview work.
In the past I was able to download a slideshow of photos that was burnt to a dvd and play it on the TV with the use of the dvd player.I have upgraded to windows 7 home premium .I have purchased VIDEOSTUDIO PRO 5 X..I have burnt a DVD-RW and watched it on my computer but it will not work on the DVD player or TV. Should I be able to do this with my VIDEO STUDIO X5? do I have to buy more software.
I just installed Ulead VideoStudio 10 on Windows 7 and am having problem viewing .avi files even the sample ones with the installation, also the audio is not working. everything works fine on Windows XP. Is there a patch or Ulead VideoStudio 10 is not compatible with Windows 7?
