Is it me have I done a wrong move the eyedropper fill does not copy it only copy the outline it fail to copy the fill the properties box has been checked what should I do.

View 14 Replies View RelatedUntil recently, CorelDraw X3 was working just fine. Now however, whenever I change an object's line or fill attributes, CorelDraw automatically sets those as the new defaults, overriding the defaults I had previously set. Clicking on a a color in the palette with nothing selected no longer invokes the defaults dialogue box.
I've looked through the various options dialogues in case I had inadvertently checked a box I shouldn't have, but I can't find anything. I've been using Draw since version 2, so I'm pretty familiar with it. I've never encountered this behavior before. I've had X3 installed for about 3 years or so.
I'm running CorelGraphics X3 SP2 in Vista, 2GB RAM, Nvidia graphics.
With Eyedropper Tool click unselected Source Object, (which has 1 fill and 2 stroke attributes) the Eyedropper Tool stem detects Source Object's attributes...then, pressing Option key, click on Destination Object (which contains a default fill and stroke).The Destination Object only receives the base fill and stroke of the Source Object... it should receive all the attributes of the Source Object.
NOTE: 'New Art has Basic Appearance' is unchecked in the Appearance Panel.

I have styled a shape with 1 solid fill colour and 2 gradient fills. I am trying to use the eyedropper tool to sample the styles onto another shape - however it's only picking up one fill; the top one in my sample shapes appearances. I want to sample ALL of the fills, but can't seem to do it
View 3 Replies View RelatedI try to add a predefined character style via eyedropper tool to another text. First i simply select the tool and click on the previously marked text.
Now the tool instead of picking the predefined characterstyle exchanges the current textfill with an appropriate textstroke.
I've already reset my preferences and short of a complete new installation of InDesign i don't know what to do.
is there a shortcut for when I have an object selected to select a color and apply it automatically? I realize that I can select the eyedropper from the document palette choose a color, then reselect the object and apply the color, but I'd like to just click 'eyedropper' then sample the color and have it automatically apply.
I can't find a macro command to call the eyedropper either otherwise I suppose I could just use that.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6
I'm not sure if it is a plugin or some other application but I remember several years ago I had a program that ran in the docker that would allow me to pick a color outside of corel using an eye dropper tool and would let me paste it into my corel document.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using 2008 and I have a dynamic block with attributes that I want to insert with the below program and have the attritute values filled in automatically. I have done this with other programs in the past and they worked great with literally no problems. They were not dynamic blocks may be the reason this does not work. Why the block will not fill in the attributes like it should. Occasionally in my testing I see a message about "units" when I am inserting the block but I have my insunits set to 0. I have attached one of the blocks I want to use. I am thinking either you cannot do this because it is a dynamic block or there is a new variable that won't let it work.

Running a Query that inserts a block with attributes filled with text derived from a file that has a large set of polylines with object data (text)? Is it easier just to insert this object data as text with a query. Or can I place this object data (text) into a block that inserts?
Example:
- You have land locations defined within the object data assigned to a set of closed polylines. (Large subdivision)
- Field name for object data on each closed polyline is "LAND_LOC"
- Now, I'd like to label these locations with a block that inserts to a central point within the closed polyline.
- Block Attributes with "get" the information from the polyline / object data and place this value in the block attribute.
- I have 1 drawing file that has closed polylines with object data assigned to them.
- What is the best method for this? I'd like a block with attributes to insert and pull the object data / field and place it into the block with a defined attribute, that is central to each of the closed polylines. (LAND_LOC)

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy entire office has been experiencing drawing crashes as a result of moving or copying certain blocks within a dwg. The problem seems to occur only while executing a Move or Copy command on a block with attributes, and zooming or panning while doing so. My heart sinks instantly because the block will disappear when placed, and I know I am doomed to crash.
I am usually able to pan or zoom a few times, and if I act quickly a Save will work before the drawing then crashes. We have recently switched from 2011 to Civil 3D 2013, and the problem still persists. The two culprits are our slope arrow block as well as hex call-out. Both blocks contain attributes and are frequently used through out our drawings, and this problem proves to be most frustrating when pressed for a deadline.
Is there some kind of script that copy text box attributes (X, Y, W, H) and contents (text) and apply the to new text box?
that is the steps to do this procsses
1- create new text box
2- copy the width attribute and apply it on the new text box, I repeat this with with X, Y, Hight attributes.
3- copy the content to the new box
4- delete the old text box

I have just upgraded from X4 to X6 and found that when using the paint tool, the cursor disappears at the end of the action, and appears again when the cursor is moved again.This happens when the user interface setting is set to 'Shape cursor for brush tools".
More of a concern for me is when the Eyedropper tool is set to 'Select sample', (the one I always use), no rubber rectangle is drawn to show the area that is being sampled.That is, it is supposed to draw a dynamic rectangle in a similar way that the rectangular mask tool selects an area with a rectangle changing size with movement of the cursor.The eyedropper samples the correct pixels, but does not draw the enclosing rectangle.I have tried running it in all comparability modes except for 256 color and 640 x 480 resolution, which aren't options for me.
X4 didn't exhibit these problems so I can't understand how it can't be a bug, especially since the rectangular mask tool draws the rubber-banding rectangle without a problem. At this point would be preferring to be using X4.

View 10 Replies View RelatedOur department currently uses MS Paint to place varied colored boxes for call outs on top of screen figures used in our documentation. As you know, MS Paint is not a robust image editing application, and we are frustrated at its limitations (especially not having a "non-destructive" edit capability).
Consequently, we are evaluating a trial version of PS to see how a workflow could be developed that would allow the department to use call out boxes "stored" in a PS file that could be applied in an easy, consistent manner to our screen figures (but also keep each call out box editable) using PS.
Consequently, in PS using the shape tool, I created a file with our colored boxes for call outs, each on its own layer. Now I am trying to determine how you copy and paste a box (or layer) from this file to a "working" file (one containing a screen figure), while keeping all of its attributes (color, line weight, being editable, etc.). I can't seem to find an option to do this. Is there? If not, is there another workflow in PS that you can recommend for this type of procedure?

I have tried this over and over with the same result, or should I say lack of a result? All I am trying to do is make a star field. I'm reproducing a 1930s - 1940s decal from a toy crib that we're restoring and repainting. The original decal on the headboard is deteriorated and flaking off, so I decided to reproduce it on clear inkjet waterslide decal paper. (White paper wouldn't work because of the open area between background ovals and the figure itself; here's the reproduced decal image - imagine everything not in color to be a clear area: )
However, since inkjet printing doesn't include opaque white, I need to manually paint white on the decal sheet behind the ovals and the figure to make the colors pop and to prevent the pink-painted crib background from showing through. I'd like to take the Xara image, copy it, then turn the copy into a very light black or gray line with no fills. This becomes guidelines for hand-painting
I'll print the black line version first on the decal sheet, paint white on it, then print the color version over top.How do I transform a copy of the original into my guidelines?
I really miss the option to right-click text in the text editor window. It was the simplest way to e.g. edit bullet styles etc.

I have imported several of the free vector art found in various websites as .eps without issues, until this one. This one imports everything except the circular renditions of snow and snowballs. Gimp and PSE will import and convert the .eps to an image as it is supposed to appear.

I do not need these snowmen anymore, I found other candidates, and I believe I could recreate the snowballs with ovals and a meshes. I am more concerned about being able to import .eps files in general.
