I need to make lines of different thicknesses, with arrowheads. However, when I increase the line width the arrowhead should not be proportional. It need to stay a bit smaller.
Example: if the line is expanded to "Thick 3", I need the arrow keeps equivalent to "Thick 2" - for aesthetic reasons.I can do edit as I show in the bottom of the sample picture.
However, I need to build HUNDREDS of arrows of different sizes. Is there any way (Macro function?) permitting I enlarge/reduce line thickness and allowing me to edit the arrow without changing the line thickness?
Important Note: Is not enough I edit some arrows and save them as a kind of Template, then import them to work. The arrows have different ways in thickness and may be straight, curved, winding, etc.. Hence the need to edit the edges easily.
It would be nice to have vba scale the thickness of the the eraser tool based on the current zoom setting. What i'm after is every time i click on the eraser tool, it will autosize to 2% of the current window size. So if im zoomed in really far and the current window has a wdith of 1 inch, the diamter of the eraser would change to 0.02 of af inch. Where as if I was zoomed out far and the current window had a width of 24 inches, the eraser thickness would default to 0.5 inches or something like that. The idea would be for the diameter of the erser to always be the same thicknes % of window size no matter what zoom level im at.
I can figure out how to get the current zoom level, and I know how to make this script run by altering the customization and setting this script's hot key to X. but im not sure if there is a function to change the thickness of the eraser. it doesnt seem to record when I attempt to record a macro.
I want to use the font box, but all the font headings are dead - light gray. How can I turn them on and make them black / active?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs an exercise I'm trying to recreate the leaf image in the X5 guidebook ( pages 127 & 128). No problems until I came to drawing the yellow "veins" on the face of the leaf. I need to create lines that start off thin, get thicker in the middle and go back to thin at the other end.
I managed to create the effect by drawing a closed , filled object, and then playing around using the shape tool to achieve the desired result..
Is there a better, quicker way to do this. I tried doing it using the artistic tools but no luck there.
I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.
Draw specific, Is there a vector tool that will accept input and change thickness with pressure from the pen?
Can I use the eraser in Draw? Any other cool things I can do with it now? I'm still getting used to it, but it seems neat.

When I go to change the thickness of an artistic media stroke, it jumps up from .045 to .095 or down to 0.3, or similar sorts of jumps in either direction, when I want to make finer adjustments than that. I'm surprised that a program that has so many options and precise ways of doing things wouldn't allow that. Is there no way to accomplish that?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI use this feature often, but I'm not sure I fully understand it, because I don't know what the number setting (1-100) refers to, and I can't find an explanation of it.
Usually I'll select all the nodes in an object and move the slider to the right until I can get as many nodes to disappear as it will let me. (I don't worry so much about distorting the object because I like to do the final shaping manually using as few nodes as possible...) and I find that at a certain point on the scale it won't reduce further, so at that point I remove the remaining unwanted nodes by hand.
My question is, does the 1-100 scale refer to the percentage of nodes that are removed, and what's the reason it won't go beyond a certain percentage?
Sometimes when I power trace a bitmap there are so many nodes that i spend too much time getting rid of them all...It would be nice if I could get the "reduce nodes" feature to remove more.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsually the reduce node tool will reduce the nodes easily, but I have had a few issues where an imported shape or vector - usually a dxf file or plt file has thousands of nodes but the reduce node tool does not work.
When I select a node on these files it only reduces the node I select? is there a way of smoothing these without redrawing ?
Most imported designs are 100%. I'd like a code that at a push of a button reduced to 10% or any other setting i can change it to. Reason being, we all use different scale modes and sometimes artwork is huge. I need to shrink it down.
Is this possible w/o manually typing in the values?
how is possible to reduce the printing usage? a friend of mine told me that I have to reduce the percentage of each colour in the image, but first of all I don't know how to do that, and second I don't know if it will modify the image.

I'm working with a production house to generate transparent PNG files of pieces of content. These output images must meet a fixed height and width (in pixels). We're providing a MS Word file with a template that has both text and a MathType equation. The vendor uses this as a starting point, and will export the same equation as a transparent PNG file.
The vendor is using CorelDraw to: transfer text and MathType equations out of a Microsoft Word document into a template in a CDR file select and export the resulting component(s) as a transparent PNG file
FONT MISMATCH: We have a reference PNG file that we've generated as pixel map directly from an XML version of a piece of sample content. We've found that the vendor's sample PNG file is much larger in filesize than the reference PNG file, though it has the same dimensions.
I'm wondering if it is related to a settings issue in CorelDraw due to a weird font size mismatch. Viewing our reference PNG on-screen on my MacBook Pro (OS X Lion), the font matches 26pt in my text editor at 100% view, which is the same font size we use in our source Word document. The vendor (using a PC overseas) has to shrink the font size after transfer into CorelDraw to 6.2pt font, which visually matches our reference on my screen.
TECHNICAL DETAILS: I've used the "identify -verbose" command in ImageMagick to isolate a few other key differences between our source PNG file and the vendor's sample PNG file. In addition a significantly larger number of rows of Histogram information (source=65 rows; vendor=256 rows), there are a handful of other discrepancies (in bold):
Source PixelMap PNG
Resolution: 72x72
Print size: 6.94444x3.31944
Units: Undefined
Channel statistics:
Gray:
min: 0 (0)
[code]...
I've attached a text file with the ImageMagick details for each PNG file. changes to the CorelDraw settings or process to better align the output file with the source. I'm also open to exporting the selected component(s) in a different format (e.g., EPS or TIF) and then converting to PNG with another utility.
Private Sub lstFonts_Change() Me.lblFontcboOverLabel = Me.lstFonts.Text Me.lblFontcboOverLabel.Font = Me.lstFonts.Text Me.lblFontcboOverLabel.Font.Size = 12 Fface = Me.lstFonts.TextEnd Sub
I have added this code to display how the font looks (shown below). But notice i have text font set aside. How do i get my test font to display in the "display box" and/or have my font change as i scroll through the list of fonts. I realize corelx6 kind of does this - but it doesn't allow me to single out fonts.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy vertical font spacing changes on its own from time to time.
Created a template where my font space was 100% and all looked well and positioned correctly. Used the template to create a few thousand files over 6 months. Then opened the template and some of the files I created and found the font was spaced out more than usual. Somehow Corel interpreted my font spacing differently. I checked the font file and it was the same date/time as before.
I changed the template to 92% to bring it down to the required "correct" position and gradually "fixed" all the files i had created to the 92% spacing. After 6 months or so, I opened the template and a few of the files that had been created using the 92% spacing and all were "squished"... oi.. i changed the template back to 100% and began the long haul changing each of the created files to 100%.
Now i just checked and the spacing is too squished and if i change it to 110% vertical, it appears spaced correctly.
I havent changed the version of corel. I havent changed the computer. I havent changed the font (still the original one from the original source file). I reloaded the font using the original source file several times for kicks and it still requires the 110% spacing to be positioned correctly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from CorelDraw 12 to X5 when I upgraded from XP to Windows 7. I thought I transferred all my fonts to the new system. But often when I open old CorelDraw 12 files, X5 tells me that fonts are missing and it offers substitutes which really screw up the document. The fonts it says are missing tend to be fonts I have never heard of! The latest is Centaur.
If I do a search for 'Centaur', a copy of my old system's AdobeFnt.lst comes up, as well as AdobeSysFnt08.lst and AdobeFnt05.lst (I have parts of my old HD on my E:DATA/ drive). I don't know how to open them or how they got to the old disk. Should these be in some way incorporated into my X5 files? Is Centaur a font that used to be in CorelDraw and no longer is? By the way, I have the boxed version, so it should have all the fonts.
I'm trying to install the EPS font file in Corel Draw X6 and can't seem to get it to work. The Font Navigator can't find the font and the "Install EPS" function in CDX6 just dumps an image of the whole font into whatever I'm working on.
