I am wondering, is it possible to duplicate the page content, but to have all elements on the new page as a separate layers? Perhaps, some short key buttons combination....Just got tired to copy and paste all my elements as a separate layers to the new page :( Need to have all elements separate because creating a SVG file for die cut machine.

why content center creates duplicates of existing folders?. Some of the folders have 6 or 8 versions and there is also a duplicate EN-US folder within the EN-US folder with nested folders. So bottom line i have multiple locations and nested files within the content center. Needless to say there is a lot of time spent pointing inventor to the parts necessary to open an assembly.
We are working on a network and are all pointing to the same content center location. We are all using the same project files. Sometimes it works as you would expect, other times not.

I am using Xara Xtreme 5.1. I am trying to add a new page to my file. Its the first time I have attempt to create a new page. At each attempt it duplicates the 1st page and all its layers. I have unchecked the boxes in the Page Options: Page Size: Document: "All pages in the document the same" and "same layers on all pages in document " and pressed "Apply" . I have tried afresh we a brand new file and yet cannot prevent the duplications.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI created a single piece art work in illustrator CS3 and all is well, prints perfectly aligned. No problems. However, now I realize I want to save paper and place multiples, up to 3 per page, to do so everything will need to change orientation so all 3 can fit to print out on a standard size piece of paper. Is it possible to copy all layers of text and images as one unit, rather than having to recreate the entire piece 2 more times and getting it perfectly aligned again. I have spent hours getting it perfect.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just finished putting very many weeks work into Photoshopping a scanned image and now I want to print it with multiple duplicate unaltered images per A4 sheet.
The image is 15cm x 7.3cm, so theoretically I should be able to print 4 of these on an A4 page no problem. However, the solution to how to do this simply and without altering the original image at all complete alludes me. I have tried using google to find a solution and have tried the File -> Automate -> Picture Package option, but besides being overly complicated this also seems to alter the dimensions of your original image. I have also heard about a "long way" of doing things, which involves creating a new A4 sized image and duplicating your image manually 4 times on this page sized image - however I am also quite stumped as to how I should do this without losing any detail of the original image.
I quite often need a separate ruler scale on each page of a multi-page document. The only way I know how to do this is to create a separate document for each drawing that requires a new scale.
I request that you add the ability to change the ruler scale on a per page basis within a single multi-page document.

If I use a label type approach some rows have less data making the layout uneven (unsuitable for the project)
Is there a way to merge with a fluid result ?
Ie row one takes up 2 lines Row 2 takes up 5 lines Row 3 takes up 1 line etc

If it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?

For some reason my quick key "Control D" for Duplicate isn't working. It shows that it's still listed in the Tools, Options, Commands, Duplicate at times. At others, it appears empty. I now have to go to Edit and select the Delete function each time.
Is my CorelDraw falling apart?
My wife is starting a label company - we design the labels in corelx5 then print & cut them out on our printer - but I'm wondering how to autoduplicate the names into each of the labels on the page (a page has maybe 100 labels that would have the persons name in them - same name in each label). Rather than copy things over & over how can I set things up so that I type the name into the first label and it fills all the rest of the labels on the sheet with the same name automatically ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want all new documents to have a duplicate offset of 0,0 (so they appear right over top of the original). I can do this in a document... via Tools, options (or customization), document, general
set the x and y of the offset to 0
BUT, click on the "Document" tree branch and there are checkboxes to save the options for new files.
I enable "Save options as defaults..."
and click the "General options"
... and this should include the offset amounts...
click okay...
Then open a new document, draw a squiggle, hit Ctrl-D, but the offset is still .25 x .25.
I've tried clicking the Tools, "Save settings as Default" but that doesn't work either. I've also tried saving the workspace, but that doesn't work.
This feels like a bug, because both the save settings for a new file AND the tools, save settings as default should have saved these document settings (? right?)
I’d like to copy an object a distance that I specify on screen. I can see how to copy a specified number of inches, but that is very awkward. You have to measure the distance (horizontal and vertical) and then input the numbers, then click “apply”. Is there a simpler way to do it?
Or is there a way to paste at a specified location? If I do an Edit>Copy then Edit>Paste, it pastes the new object on top of the old one.
I have just installed CorelDRAW x4 and when I first used the 'Duplicate' tool, a pop up box appeared. The second time I used it, the pop up box did not appear and I cannot find how to open it again.

The first time I do this after installation, CD asks me for a default duplicate distance.
I now want to change this default offset values. How can I do this? I can't find any option to change the default values.

I've noticed that DRAW seems to forget whatever settings I choose for duplicate.
So, I found the following in the index:
"Copying objects quickly. You can use other methods to create copies of objects quickly, without using the Clipboard. You can use the plus sign (+) on the numeric keypad to place a copy of an object on top of the original object, or you can create copies instantly by pressing the Space bar or right-clicking while dragging an object."
The + sign thing is cool. Wish I had known. But the Space bar drag either doesn't work at all or puts down one copy at what is apparently a set distance from the original, and then a second copy wherever I release the mouse button. ? Win7, DRAW X6.
Under the Tools~option box there is no field to set the duplicate offset distance as stated in the help. Where can I set this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was watching one of the tutorials by Scott Georgeson on lynda.com on Corel X6. It was on the polygon tool where he was making a polygon and adding different colored duplicate layers on top to make it multicolored. He said to hold the plus+ key and then grab handle to shrink one of the layers down to show some of the underlying layer. When I try this the layers aren't isolated and the whole thing moves. I saw a check box in the settings to edit layers separately but didn't work.

I am running X4. I draw jig saw puzzles in CorelDRAW (several shapes that I andomly node-connect) and each piece overlaps adjoining pieces on all four sides and are connected at multiple corner nodes as well as arc nodes. When sending to the laser for cutting, each side of each piece gets cut twice due to the overlapping lines. I was hoping the RemoveUnderlyingDups and NodeClean macro from a 2010 post would take these overlapping lines and create individual horizontal and vertical line segments from the connected nodes so the laser would make one continuous cut rather than duplicating all the cuts.
However, after running the macros, even on a small portion of the puzzle, I didn't get any results. I combined then broke apart as mentioned and still no joy. The only way I have been able to create separate line segments is to cut apart at the nodes and delete individual line segments... on 1250 pieces, with four sides and all sides overlapping, that's 10,000 separate edits... needless to say, duplicate cutting by the laser is faster.
Ideally, being able to create continuous horizontal and vertical lines based on corner node connections, would be the best. At that point, I could cut a 1250 piece puzzle with just 50 continuous horizontal lines and 100 vertical lines.
Is it possible to duplicate pages at a time. For example, I have 4 pages that are divided into titles per district and I need to set up multiple districts ranging from 3 to 12 ( I have already run Districts 1 and 2) So instead of copy/paste each title and enter a new layer, can I duplicate the 4 pages and then edit the district numbers?

However, I have only 3 GB hard disk space left, so I wanted to install X5 without the extra content. But I cannont find an option in the installer where I can switch the extra content off. It seems that it always wants to install the 6GB extra content. Required hard disk states >5GB, even when I deselect everything. Hence, I cannot continue the installer.
How can I get a minimal installation of the X5?
I have the Guidebook, that is COOL! but does Corel sell a printed content manual? I would love to have that PDF content manual as a printed book. I know it would be 414 pages but it would be cool.

When I work on a product brochure with a lot of text involved, CorelDraw become very low responsive when I edit the text e.g. select, move, typing, etc etc. It happens to both paragraph text and artistic text.
Btw I'm running X6 on an old XP machine.
