CorelDRAW X4 :: How To Edit Line Without Affecting Outline Style
Sep 8, 2012
I'm a newbie in Corel draw X4. editing lines and curves ?
My problem is about the outline: When I edit a line that was made with a certain style (eg Artistic Brush) Corel reset its outline properties to the current default one :-(
Is there a way I could lock my object to prevent this ?
I'm trying to edit my label style so that the bearing has no decimal places and the distance has two. I thought it would be similar to editing the contour label precision but it doesn't seem to be that way.
Is there a way to make an outline that is either only on the inside or the outside of the center line of the outline? I know that the default in Corel is to center the outline on the center line of the outline.
I would like to mark the outline of an object with a dotted line/ the outline should be a dotted line to show that this object can be cut out. But I see only where to choose the thickness of a line.
how to draw and big fat line - about 24 pt - with rounded ends, then give that line an outline of its own so I can change the 'fill ' - the original line colour - and get an outlined line?
And just for fun, I want the 'fill' to be semi-transparent!
I use the layer effect Drop Shadow with several layers. Now I wanted to have another angle for a specific layer, but this affects all other layers, too! How can I edit the angle without affecting the other layers?
I'm creating a flow chart/decision tree. I am animating the position of a diagram on the stage when a user selects yes or no in answer to a series of questions.
I've split up each diagram movement on the stage timeline as labels. I've staggered these transforms as keyframes on the same layer/track. The issue I'm having is when I manipulate the position of my diagram by moving it on the stage it affects adjacent transforms. I have my transforms seperated with a 1/10 second gap becuase I thought this would split the timeline up but it appears not!
While I can edit the transforms manually by typing in xy co-ordinates it would be ten times faster to move the diagram on the stage instead and not overwrite adjacent transforms.
How do I restrict the transform to the two keyframe points I am concerned with?
Is it me or is leading only affecting the bottom line/sentence of the line HIGHLIGHTED in CC?
Before, if I wanted to set the leading, I would highlight the line I want to affect and set it...that selected sentence would be the one to shift up or down. Now, the leading affects the sentence BELOW the sentence I highlighted.
It does trouble me especially during setting "drop shadow", "inner glow" and "stroke". In previous version, if this problem came up, I can solve it by clicking another layer and then double-clicking the original layer to pop up the style setting.
I am simply trying to outline some text. When I get to the "edit stroke" dialog box (where you specify number of pixels for width, etc.), it doesn't have an option for "line color". I thought it said it puts it in as the "last color used" or something like that. I keep setting the foreground color beforehand (to grey). It keeps putting the line in as red, when I want it grey. how you specify this color? Or if there is a simpler way to outline some text?
sometimes i copy the hatch from one drawing and paste it in order to compare. i noticed that the snap cant see hatch, meaning that i have to outline the hatch. is there automate way to outline hatch with a line?
how to title my question...which has been making googling tough. I want to duplicate the outline / two tone effect in my attached picture to a different picture of a car.
I'm hoping there is some filter or steps to pulling this off, without having to draw it from scratch (which isn't going to happen!)
How I can edit the default appearance of a Linear Dimension Style. Basically I want to change the default placement of the actual value over the arrow.
I´ve attached two pictures that shows what i mean.
Fired up 2012 and I find the new modeling dialog boxes quite annoying. For example, within Edit Poly, the chamfer, extrude, etc. Is there any way to switch back to the old, standard windows style dialogs?
I have AutoCAD 2011 now and I am not sure where the Dimention style edit (to show in all dimention lines I am using) is...what I have to do now is to change each line EVERY time I dimention any thing.
the other thing is how to scale the drawign in viewport. In older versions it shows easily. Where is it in this one!?
Every time I try to edit the Contents of a label on the Layout Tab of the Style Composer I get the errors below. I've tried a restart, a reboot, a repair and a reinstall with no change. This happens even in a new blank drawing. Each of these messages appears and has to be closed about 5 times.
I'm trying to revise my template that I use as a base for all drawings. I would like to have layer colors in models space, and alter the plot style for the individual layers. For example, My ctb is grayscale, and generally the prints work fine. However, I'd like to set individual layers to display as the layer color yet print black. Othere I'd like to display in colour but print in the grays of the grayscale. However, in the layer manager the plot style is grayed out and I can't change it.
Is there any convenient way to edit symbol, swatch or graphic style libraries? The way I do now is quite time-consuming: I open a library I need to edit, create a new symbol, select other symbols of the opened library (so that they appeared withing the generic "Symbols" tab alongside with the new symbol), then press "Save Symbol Lybrary", select the library I've already opened and replace it with the new one (with a new symbol added).
I would prefer just to open a user defined library, drag and drop a new symbol to it and save changes to the library. Is the latter method out there and I just don't know about it? If so, any trick to activate that method.
So I am basically a brand new user to ai-cs6 and have been working on a project for a friend. I've drawn up the basic components of the logo she wants, all separate individual pieces. My intention is/was to trace in each piece, and scale, rotate, and clean them up according to how the final piece should look. Where I'm running into trouble is that the sketches are not point perfect, meaning there's some shading in the hand drawn, and the lines are rough in areas. I'm trying to avoid redrawing the pieces because we both are really happy with where they're at.
What I'd like to do with ai-cs6. How to trace very simply a one line vector of the outline of the image. So instead of creating a piece that has stroke straight from the scanned in artwork, I get a single line, with multiple points, that flows the simple shape of the piece. From there it seems it would be pretty simple to just increase the stroke weight and modify the style of line to make it look how we would like. except that since the sketch has some rough line sections ai-cs6 is adding either a lot of detail and making it look pretty rough, or it's missing entire sections and leaving them blank.
In autoCAD tools I am using Device ID to mark my receptacles GFI, WP, and Ect. I am using Light ID to mark my lighting fixtures. The problem is the labels do not match my current text style. These tags also do not work like room tags and other tags I have searched to resolve this issue. The command these tools are grabbing is AECscheduletag. Is there a way to change the text style and size for these tags.
I have a grid set up. say 10X10 each. I then fill in each square of the grid. I get rid of the grid, left with 10X 10 squares next to each other separated by 1 pixel then I do an outline to quickly get rid of the spaces between each square.
Now I I have 12 pixel wide line, now I would like to do an Inline (negative outline) to reduce the line back down to 10 pixel (or less ) wide line.
Since it is not exactly a straight line, but rather than a zig zaging line I can't exactly use the pixel selection tool.
New to Corel Draw X5. I recently switched from X4 (on Win XP) to X5 on Win 7. I have over 1000 files I created with a CutPath outline. I open the file - assign the new Cut Path outline I created in X5 (didn't know how to import it from X4) and after a few minutes the cutline turns white and I have to keep re-doing it.
Also, quite often the palette I created disappears and I have to keep opening it up when I open new documents.
I'm using coreldraw to engrave words with my laser machine, which is a Epilog TT24. im trying to get a thick outline on the letters so i can paint it, but so far the only thing my laser engraves is the "hairline" outline even though i tried all the other sizes. How can i get it thicker?
