When you publish to pdf in X5, you have the option to change settings and save them. Where is this file located?
I upgraded to Windows 7 and forgot to write down the settings I saved. So, I want to go to my backup and find the file(s) that stores the custom settings for publish to pdf.
I was facing problems with X5 soon after installing it, it actually doesn't installs properly. Somehow i have to End Process of installation and though find X5 in my Start menu of Windows XP SP2. Well the actual problem started when i recently tried to publish PDF for one of my client's brochure of 17 pages, X5 closes all of a sudden and i have to restart the whole process. At times it creates a PDF which then has errors and Acrobat Reader don't read it.At times X5 even gives Error while saving files. Then have to click Save till it actually saves the file.I uninstalled X5 thinking, there could be some corrupted files and re-installed, but all in vain..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI regularly design multi-page design drawings for sign manufacturing, and was operating normally in X3 on a Dell Dual Core up to yesterday, when suddenly app won't successfully publish to PDF. It just spins, or produces a file that has blank pages or some huge empty file that shows it to be over 150MB in size (normally my files are under 8 MB). I tried a complete uninstall/reinstall of program twice now, but only to have same results.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am making a Blurb photo book in CDx4. Everything goes very well. But then I try to publish the result to pdf/x3, as requested by Blurb. The colors of the bitmaps are wrong, dull. I try to publish to acrobat 4. Everything is all right. Other pdf formats seem to do very good as well.
I think it has something to do with rgb and cmyk, but whatever I try to change, it does not work. I converted the bitmaps to cmyk, I changed things in the color management (had things with that in the past -> color management off seems the best), nothing works.
I managed to get a nice set of different settings to publish a corel file to pdf. Now I would like copy these settings to multiple other pc's in the office. where a can find the file/folder in which these settings are being saved?
Otherwise I would have to set all different pc's individually and I rather spend my time otherwise.
When you print a file from corel you have the option to choose always overprint black, but when I make a pdf with publish to pdf in the advanced tab I have only the option to preserve document overprint, and the black text is knocked out. Is there a solution to that, other then manually setting black text to overprint fill in corel?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just completed a 25 page document using hundreds of symbols but when I have just tried to publish it to PDF certain symbols do not appear?
I have looked back through the file and found that the ones that do not appear also no longer show the image in the symbol library but when i insert them in to the drawing they show up fine.
When I try and publish a image or document to PDF it produces a blank PDF document.
I have tried using Bullzip PDF printer but that also produced a blank PDF.
I am running CorelDraw x5 Graphics Suite on Windows 7. When publishing to pdf on even simple corel files it is saving a pdf size of over 1.5GBs! The screenshot below is a 57 page corel file ALL text and vector with NO bitmaps images. Publishing to pdf creates a file size 1.59GBs. Is there a patch that is out that resolves this issue?

When I draw a perfect circle with the tablet, I get an ellipse on the screen, but when if I draw a perfect circle with the circle tool, I get a perfect circle on screen.I hand draw the circle with a round frame, so I'M sure my "handmade" circle is perfect.
Distortion is not very hard, but this mismatch makes sketching harder and I'M not so skilful. I have this problem on both photopaint and Draw x5I. Is there some way or setting on Draw X5 ( and photo paint) to set the tablet and Draw X5 together so I will get what I draw when I sketch ?
I am using Coreldraw X5 and experiencing the following problems.
After writing text and clicking the Pick Tool, the text is instantly 'emboldened'. the only way I can correct this is to select No Outline. Why does this happen?
I can get round this using this procedure: With nothing selected.
From the Outline Pen tool - select No Outline - and tick the Artistic and Paragraph text boxes. And then from the Tools, Options menu, selecting Save Settings as Default and also Tools, Options, Documents, Save Options as Default for New Documents.
The best that happens is that setting the defaults in this way works for that current page. If I open a new page the problem is back.
The above also occurs with text point size, every new page offers Ariel 10 point, I can change this using the above procedure but it is also not permanent. I would be interested in why setting defaults has no affect, and a permanent solution. I have also restarted the computer after 'setting the defaults' to no avail.
I am in the process of deploying CorelDraw X5 to about 20 users in my company. The options I have available are to use Group Policy, SCCM 2007, or a couple of 3rd party programs. The specific users which this deployment will be advertised to will basically be using it as a CDR / EPS viewer only. In fact, we do not want them to be able to edit anything and save or export it.
Given the above, her are my two questions:
1. What are my options for deploying CorelDraw over the network? I saw the trial uses an installer, but have the image of the disc which I may use too. Neither have MSI files, though.
2. Are there any methods for controlling security of certain users / workstations on what the can or cannot do in CorelDraw? An administrative template for Group Policy would be ideal. We really just don't want them to be able to save - however - the file must be viewed, then sent by them so the idea of a Share set as Read Only wouldn't work.
I export many web graphics at the same size so with x6. I thought I would love the presets with x6 however when I set the preset to export like at 700px width it changes and re-sizes the exported graphic to 350px width. It show 700px on the screen when I load the preset however right when I click export or if I place me cursor in the transformation box it changes. I even tried to change it too 1400px hoping it would then change it to 700px but it still changes it to 350px.

The docker retrieves custom document properties saved within the file and displays the vales in the docker. I have it currently set to update when i switch between documents or when the document is closed, the docker is cleared of all the values. I still , to this day, can not figure out how to refresh automatically after I save a document.

I'm running CD X5 on a windows 7 machine. I had a custom "my Toolbar" set up wit all my most used tools and now suddenly it's gone! It is turned on in the menu (checked). I have unchecked it and rechecked it to no avail. I have re-booted my machine and still nothing. why it's gone but I can't seem to get it back.

Ny work PC probably has 2000 or so fonts on it. I really only use 10 or so on a regular basis. It would be awesome if I could have my own custom font list that I could load, and still be able to get to the complete list somehow if I need it. Maybe something like a folder in the font menu?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running on a fairly new Dell Studio laptop computer with Windows 7 Pro as the OS.The font was installed using the normal install font directions.
As stated above the font works fine in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word.It shows as installed in Corel Draw font menu but will not print when trying to type, the curser just blinks.
I also have 2 desktop computers running Windows XP Pro OS where the font works perfectly in all programs.
1. Black drop shadow does not appear black when Publish to PDF
2. The object beneath the drop shadow will appear as show below:
I've tried to convert the drop shadow to bitmap but the result is same.
I just got a new system installed corel draw fresh, loaded all my gms's , imported workspace , great all work as before all my menus are nice and active...,
However my custom gradients have disappeared..., it took me a while to set up certain gradients and I removed lots of the useless default ones that were there preset in the previously installed corel draw.
I accessed my old hard drive and found the gradient preset file however when I copied and replaced with the old gradient file the gradient data is not there....

is there another location where my old gradients would be saved?
I've been battling with moving tool bars between my CorelX4 PC's. I think I've finally figured out how to do it so far. Export/Import RecordedMacro.bas 'First' and make sure it's the same name on both PC's as importing a new one renumbers the *.bas file. I think this made a difference anyway.
Export/Import Workspace Toolbar next. I found if I imported the workspace first, I couldn't get the new toolbar to work.
Now, if I want to edit the colors of the toolbar as shown below, the current color doesn't show in the editing window, nor do I have any color options.
getting my custom font to work in Corel Draw 11 using Windows 7 OS.
How to get this font to work in their Corel Draw programs. I use this font for 90% of my business so you can see why it's so important that I get it to work with Corel Draw 11 & Windows 7.
I have a custom palette set on two machines. If I save a file on one and then open it on the other, the second machine does not recognize the custom colors and leaves the object blank. I can click on the palette and correct this but can I set it so that the colors will load correctly when I open the files.

Coreldraw can already do what I need using the PageNumbering macro but I have to enter the individual settings for each template every time. I simply want the included PageNumbering macro but with the option to save 5 presets. If possible I would like the option of saving the presets to a file that can be shared with other workstations so I don't have to manually recreate.

Is it possible to assign a custom spot color to a shape via VBA? The best I could come up with was something like the following (where "sh" represents a shape):
sh.Outline.Color.FixedAssign cdrCustom, 1, 100
I'm under the impression that cdrCustom is supposed to represent the user's custom spot color palette, but this doesn't seem to work.
Furthermore, I can manually assign a custom spot color to an object and then retrieve the PaletteID and PaletteIndex of that color using VBA. For example:

Debug.Print ActiveSelection.Shapes(1)..Outline.Color.PaletteIndex
The PaletteID that returns is 0 (cdrCustom), and the PaletteIndex returned does correspond with its order in my custom spot color palette. In fact, I can also retrieve the Color.Name and it will correctly identify the custom spot color's name.
For the life of me, I just can't seem to assign these colors using VBA. Is it just that the VBA in CorelDRAW 11 is too immature?
