CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Applying Fish Eye Lens To A Bitmap?
Feb 3, 2013I was doing some "sphere-ology" and wanted to overlay a bitmap pattern. I tried to use a Fish Eye lens on a bitmap to give it some shape before applying it, but it does not seem to work. It will cut out the shape, but no distortion is applied.
I found this thread from a couple of years back on X5. There was no resolution.
Should this work on a bitmap?
I'm running X6, 64-bit on Win-7.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Applying Spot Colors To Grayscale Bitmaps?
Jul 14, 2011We have a new Roland printer, an LEJ-640, which prints in CMYK plus white and clear gloss.
In order to print a white bitmap, I must apply a spot color to the bitmap. I used the Bitmap|Mode|Dutone to apply the white spot color and it seems to work correctly--it shows up as a spot color when I use the print dialog to preview separations.
When I use either print to file with the RolandVW print driver or File|Publish to PDF, the spot color on the bitmap is not preserved, Versaworks does not recognize it as a spot color. Color output is set to "Native". However, a vector object on the same page with the same spot color applied is recognized as a spot color.
The pink part in the versaworks screenshot indicates white spot color, as you can see only the vector object is recognized.

1. Facing problem of frequent CorelDraw X6 crash while working and seemingly most of the times it even don't sent any error messages to Corel support.
2. Transformations docker doesn't accept enter for applying changes, it only responds when we hit apply. It is good to move through options by using TAB, but it should accept ENTER as “APPLY” as we make desired change in any parameter. Mostly I prefer dockers to property bar.
3. Open and Import dialogue boxes don’t get cancelled as we hit ESC key.
4. Using pick tool double click a group of objects including paragraph text and get desired rotation is still a havoc despite we are using x6 (64-bit). It kills much of our time. See screen shot below:
5. I am also facing problem in EPS editable import as shown in the screen shot below "An error occurred while processing PIEE.eps. The file cannot be opened."
The file is created in x6 and has 2 pages for two print jobs. Both pages has flatten background text and fountain lenses to RGB bitmap. All texts converted to curves. Page 1 exported to EPS and then imported as EPS editable successfully. Page 2 exported to EPS and then imported as EPS editable - shown above error. I have also tried importing this page to a fresh file and then created fresh EPS but got the same erroneous result.
As far as my experience with PDF is not good, because sometimes PDF also produces undesired result on RIP specially as RGB images, bar codes, drop shadows etc. I believe that EPS files are far more reliable in prepress jobs.

1. connects objects assigned with a style, to that style LIVE? eg, altering the style properties, automatically all objects assigned with that style will adopt those changes too,
2. offers LOT more configuration options than the current default CorelDraw styles options

May 30, 2012Problem with text styles: I have a big body of text, with several styles applied. The problem is, editing one of the styles does not affect the text that has this style applied to it. Changing the style or creating a new style does not work - it's like these particular parts of text are immune to editing the style. It works only when I select the text and manually apply the style. Further editing the style does not affect this text, I have to manually select it and apply the style again.

Feb 16, 2012I often have the need to remove the drop shadow effect. Currently what I do is to "Break Drop Shadow Group Apart" then delete it from object manager. However with other effects such as Transparency, I can simply set the Effect to None. Can this be done with Drop Shadow?

Oct 4, 2012I'm just checking back in to see any updates on how to quickly and easily clear all color styles in a document. I've tried the following:
Os's nifty color styles patch (comes with recentfilesDecBeta macro)
saving as CMX (that bites because it converts underscores to objects and other mean things)
manually (takes too long and sometimes replaces colors in current document then save settings as default (I not like this).
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Adding New Line Styles?
Jul 14, 2012In CDraw X5 I can choose line styles. But I would like to add some more styles (and to remove some that I never use).I only found a possibility to create new styles based on a kind of a pixel approach: A one-by-many array of single squares can be marked to be coloured of white, producing dashed lines with any kind of dash length.Also, the dash "frequency" seems to be dictated by the line width only; I do not manage to make thin dashed lines with a reasonably visible dash frequency.
However, I would like to make line consisting of other shapes, like circles, triangles, diamonds, etc., either filled or "open". Or make thin dashed lines with user-specifiec dash and space lengths that do not change when changing the line width. Is this possible?
Also, multi-colour dashes – with e.g. odd-numbered dashes in one colour and even-numbered ones in another color – might be useful.
In the current version, however, the number of dash schemes available is big enough to be confusing. Especially when the line is made relatively wide – say, 0,5 .. 1 mm or so – and I want to make more lines with the same shape, than it is difficult to find again the same shape the list of standard shapes. Is it possible to add names (or numbers, but not just running numbers!) to the shapes, so that a shape can be found again easily?
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Red Drop Shadow Faded During Export
Dec 25, 2011I apply a red glow on an object (rectangle) on an black background.When exported as JPEG or PDF, the red glow color faded become greyish. I check that it's same when I turn the proof colors on.I've change different modes for the drop shadow but none gives the correct result.
This only happens in CMYK mode. When exported as RGB, it's fine.

Nov 30, 2012Applying contour to a text and trying to apply a drop shadow afterwards, the drop shadow properties can not be set.
No matter what item you select in the Object Manager, the drop shadow toolbar's controls are all disabled.
PS: I just noticed this is true for the drop shadow tool in CorelDRAW X6.2 in gereral. I'm not able to edit any of the drop shadow properties.

Sep 9, 2013I am using Windows Vista, and I am trying to drag and drop photos from Google images into CorelDraw. I can do it from IE no problem. Chrome is only dragging in the URL text of the image an not the actual photo.

When I add a drop shadow to anything the variable attributes do not appear on the property bar, ie "flat bottom right" at top left and then the choice of colours etc. I know by now where they are so click on where I think they are, but it's annoying. I have deleted, run a reg cleaner and re-installed + added the SP2 updates.

May 16, 2012My dropdowns of menu bar not looking same as default. There should be a line after Revert, Send to, Collect for output in File menu and same with other menus but I am not able to see that default line. That is not effecting me any way but eyes are set on default view which I like it.
