View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a land surveyor and am looking for a routine that will look at my txt files exported from the field data collector, and upon exporting into C3D, will look at the descriptor and place an appropriate block on the node. For example, if the collector code was for an IP (iron pin), when the points are imported into the drawing, a solid round block would be placed on each node with the IP description. Same if for trees, concrete monuments, fire hydrants, etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert text with either the TEXT command or MTEXT command, the text is displayed mirrored. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the MIRRTEXT variable because that is used when I'm actually mirroring the text. In my case, the text is mirrored as soon as I insert it. How can I get it back to normal? Is there a variable I'm missing?
I'm using AutoCAD LT 2012 .
I have some coordinate in the excel file. How to import from excel to dwg. All coordinate i will make polyline. I know one method all coordinate copy and paste to command prompt. But i need script file or other method.
View 3 Replies View Relatedin Autocad when you change the justification of text the insert snap of the text stays fixed and the text changes position around this point.
Using the JUSTIFYTEXT command you can change the justification of the text without changing its position. However this command is operated through the command bar of dynamic input. What I would like to do is to have the justification change in the quick properties this way.

I have Autocad 2007 and already have created a few custom linetypes by creating a new .line file that i edited with notepad.
My question is can i create a custom linetype intuitively by drawing myself the linetype on my autocad screen and then entering it somehow in Autocad without having to bother with linetype code.
How can I extract all layers in an open drawing to a notepad or txt file?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLogging Lightroom 4 Issue: Importing Keywords Issue
Importing keyword hierarchy from notepad txt document not working as in Lightroom 3...
In Lightroom 3 when write hierarchy in notepad everything in {...} does not display in Lightroom Keyword list but is automatically exported as keyword tag. This is not the case in Lightroom 4.
On below test hierarchy which i have included as a screen cut
When you tick on Giant Golden Mole in Lightroom 3 for instance, the latin name (Chrysospalax trevelyani) as well as the order (Afrosoricida) and family (Chrysochloridae) is automatically tagged. Only the latin name appears though in Lightroom 4 !!
how do I insert text faster? Attached is a screen capture of my set-up. I am bulding a plaque. how to set up "pre-determined" text fields that populate from an internal or external text? Right now I have to >duplicate layer>drag layer to new spot>enter in new text. It would be really neat if PS could populate from a file like web-site populate pages from other text files.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of parts drawings created in LT 98 that I am now editing in LT 14. For the most part I haven't had issues. However, I have been having a big issue with the Text function. It doesn't matter if I am trying to enter new text (Multi or Single line), or if I try to edit the existing text. Either way, the program immediately locks up & will not snap out of it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a block which consists of my company logo and some text to use on my drawing sheets or templates
I have created a block by making a autocad drawing and creating /saving it as a block .. When I insert the block into my drawing the text style changes into a different style... why is this happening and what can be done to prevent this change from occuring. I am using autocad lt 2009 and 2005 the problem is consistant with both versions...
I want to insert a text into a block that contains a field. The field I want to look up the value of an attribute that is also contained in the block. Now when I have this complete and then change the block attribute the fields do not update to the new value of the attribute. An example file is attached.
Now I am open to creating the block in a different way, so any way to make this concept work? I want everything to be contained in the block.
I already tried to work around my problem by making 2 separate attributes, where the 2nd attribute contains the field that looks up the value of the 1st attribute - this did not work. Another thing I tried was after the block was made, I edit the 2nd attribute by inserting the field and this worked fine - the down side is that the field is not the default of the attribute (so the block must already be present in the drawing model space and that instance must be copied to make more).
I'm preparing plans for individual land owners. I know I need to filter parcels "by hand", center, zoom, scale etc. I'm using labels to get parcels numbers on the plan but I have to add name into title block. I don't want to use feature labels because concat function does not work (I need to show parcel number) plus the name I need to put on is quite long (it doesn't fit in the drawing).
My question is: Is there a way to put text into drawing / title block from attached table or from feature properties of shp or sdf files?
I was telling an engineer the other day that I could probably insert his general notes from MS Word into AutoCAD and create nice clean pdf files of the CD sheets that he could email to clients. On second inspection I could tell that, yes I could copy, paste it in, but fixing all the formatting would be a nightmare. Is there any way to retain the formatting such as numbering, tabs etc. when bringing it in to AutoCAD? The idea is to have it be an editable document, so I don't want to just bring it in as a OLE object, pdf or scan.

View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically we have a number of different procedures that need to be written in each drawing. Each drawing uses one of 5 or so procedures. Usually we type it out every time which is a pain or copy paste. We also tried making word documents and inserting them that way but it got a little buggy. Is there any way to have 5 or so pre made text blocks to pick which to insert onto different types of drawings but that can be global used across a few systems?
We have a small group of workers all on the vault server. Basically I just want to be able to have a finished drawing. Click something that will open a list of my pre made text blocks, and insert one into the drawing that I can scale etc. We use Inventor 2011.
I write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:
(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.
(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.
I am trying to insert OS Tiles into a drawing using the insert x-ref command. I have managed to insert 192 tiles but still need to add 29 more tiles to complete. When I try to insert another x reference AutoCAD just goes into a continual loop. Have to force AutoCAD to crash after ten minutes.
I am using AutoCAD 2014 MAP and have just had a new system built (i5 processor, 8GB RAM).
I got a new work and get it done in the next 2 days, but first I need to do this... from a text file (or excel file, I got both) I got 3 columns, 1 one for node number, and 2 other for X and Y coordinates for each node.
So from that file I need to insert into autocad the node numbers as text (using the current style and height) at the point specified by the other two columns, that are the X,Y coordinates which will be the insertion point of text..
But I was wondering if it is possible to contol the insertion of dynamic blocks and it user definerable parameters from a excel-text file.
I am surveying a section of pipework and I need to display the brackets that are supporting the pipes. As there are numerous pipes on top of each other I have decided to show the brackets in plan and isometric view.
I think I have made the dynamic block ok and have numerous stretch/move and scale parameters working correctly.
But the only way that I can see of chaging these parameters at the momment is by manually typing them in the properties tool pallete for each individual block.
So I was thinking that if I can store the correct values that I need for each parameter in the dynamic block on our data logger along with the correct E,N,Z insertion point is it possible for this file to change the parameters in the dynamic block for example, If I have the correct insertion point stored and then have 10 parameters stored with that point for simplicity I store as A=5.00,B=8.00,C=0.100 etc and these correspond with the parameters in the dynamic block will this file be able to alter the dynamic block as the values in the excel/Text file are displayed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Video Studio X3, it seems impossible to paste text copied from another program onto a Title page. I want to do this since I have 16 stanzas of poetry that I want to insert, each on its own page, or story board.
If in fact I cannot paste text, is there a format that I can use to save each stanza on a page separately in another program that I can import into one part of this program? Maybe in a particular file extension as a snapshot, video, etc.?
It would seem ridiculous to not be able to import a text document. Do I have to type everything out from scratch?
I know how to insert basic one line text but i dont know how to insert a large paragraph or a page of text?
