I wanted to know about Blocks which are predefined in tool pallets.If I want to change height of door in section drawing (aluminium door) as 2.1 m how can I change it.
I used block editor but it changes by scale factor not exactly 2.1.How can I change it to 2.1 m?
Also I wanted to now how to make tiles in hatch for drawing in section as it is not predefined in hatch.How can I make it?
1) I want to search the drawing for the pre-define block names given in the program.
2) If the are there, I want to replace them with the new version.
3) Program replaces the first block it finds, then tries to insert that block.
We are working together whit another firm and we would like to share our tool pallets and lisp routines. The pallets and lisp files we would like to share are quite large so we would like to simply send them a USB stick whit all the files and a title "executable" program that automatically puts them on the right place and changes the appropriate information.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've always layout my floor plans three dimensional with the tools pallets commands such as walls, rails, door, windows & ect. I always have my walls pre-hatched with the solid pattern which is really effective to the floor plan. Normally when I put windows in the wall the window is clearly shown without the hatch in the wall but for some reason my wall's hatch started covering the windows and I can't seem to solve this problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI created my own tools of own content on my own pallets and then found . you can drag a whole tab into the browser to quickly archive your tools. Having reinstalled I have 'dropped the collections back to ACA12 and all my tools restored.
However I can no longer edit or add to these tool pallets. I cannot edit any properties within tools either. There is no lock symbol on the pallet that I can see, only a refresh symbol.
The .atc file they reference (found from the Content Browser location they came from) is not set to read only. Permissions seem to be set to allow read, modify, write etc. I first used the 'My Tool Catalog' provided but also copied it all back to a new catalog but it's still locked.
I am looking for broad principles as opposed to blow by blow information. I am planning to use inventor for the design of model aircraft. My problem at present is a lack of understanding of the possible ways in which the following can be achieved.
The sides of the fuselage are sheet material ( balsa or ply or a combination ) which need to be available in a 2D format so they can be converted into DXF files that can then be sent to my laser cutting machine.
I also need to model the fuselage as a solids model in inventor. How does on go about modelling something like this? The curvature is going to be single as opposed to double.
Ideally I woul like a command that enables me to take a 2D sketch ( a copy of which is converted to DXF ) and to bend it around formers to form the fuselage shape. That would be similar to the process that is used in the actual construction but I dont think that there is one as yet.

Would it be possible to make a dynamic block for titleblocks with various layouts predefined in it?
To clarify, I currently have several titleblocks set up for the corresponding papersizes that i use, each one of these is a seperate block.
If i used a Dynamic Block could i incorporate several "layouts" into one block and one drawing?
Im working on a program that checks out syncronizes some data with our erp system and then checkes in the files again to vault. all works fine but in vault all links to other files are gone? when i checkin the files from inventor manuel then the links are ok in vault. therefore i wonder if it is possible to run the vault checkin dialog "hidden" and just pass in some predifined options and checkin to vault.
View 8 Replies View Related I'm using AutoCAD MEP 2014 (though it's present in all variations).
I am using OOTB settings to eliminate network permissions as my issue.
I open my ACAD to an OOTB template file. Create a new tool palette, call it "CS" for now. When I try to add blocks to my palette, I get the black circle with a line through it. I get the same result when trying to add to existing OOTB palettes.
I am a network administrator and administrator on my machine, permissions shouldn't be the issue.
Checked my Options->Files and everything is pointing to the OOTB locations on my C: drive, nothing special.
The .dwg files are on my desktop, so there's no network sharing issue.
I tried going through Design Center (ADCENTER). I browsed to the folder containing the .dwg files, right-clicked and selected "Create Tool Palette" or something to that effect. It created an empty palette with no tools.
I've also tried inserting a block from another OOTB palette, no issue. Then whe trying to drag that block back to the tool palettes, it doesn't let me.
Toolbars/Panels are not locked, though I don't think that makes a difference.
Hmm...trying to think what else I've tried...I've Googled for a couple hours now, obviously with no luck.
In CS4 the image covers pallets I wish to use. I need to either move the image or make it smaller to get to the pallets that are open. Is there any way to have the pallets on top of the image? I am thinking that this is a change from CS3, as I do not remember this annoying behavior.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my tool palettes today. I've created some new blocks and saved them to our server, and i've then opened the design center and found the file location. I then click create tool palette of blocks. The palette displays but no blocks show on it, I've even tried dragging and dropping blocks to it but nothing shows.
I've downloaded the service pack and run a repair but still the same problem. My existing palettes have also had their block images turn into a white squares which need updating before I can see the image.
I changed the Tool Palette file location from where it was looking to a random file then it let me create palettes.
I need to insert the same block from a tool palette multiple times into my drawing. Is there a way to do this without having to pick the block from the tool palette every time I want to insert it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are using LT 2011 and 2012.My company has cad standards is for everything to be drawn on a snap. All of our blocks are designed with that in mind. Now we want to start using tool palettes to insert our blocks. When we have tested using tool palettes, with the blocks we have made, sometimes the block will drag into the drawing to snap and sometimes it wont. I have also read online that tool palettes blocks will not go to snap at all. We have seen it work (sometimes).

The blocks show up in the tool paleltte, but when i drag to insert them. It can't locate the symbols file and gives me this error : Source drawing "H:MASTER-SYMBOLS.dwg for block "X" not found.
I have the master symbols drawing as indicated and pathed the location through optionsfiles tool palletes file locations.
I'm trying to save blocks to a new tool palette and it won't let me.
I'm doing everything I've always done. Right click on the tool palette, click "new palette" then change the name.
the new tab appears on the tool palette. I go then to drag the block from my drawing to the newly made palette.
As I drag over the tool palette with block, the black line appears on the palette as it should, but when I drop it to the palette its not there. I can drag and drop that same block to any of the other tabs on the tool palette whether it's a default one or one that I've made previously. I've done this process a thousand times, it always worked without a problem. All of a sudden it doesn't. I havent made any changes to my pc or os except for the microsoft updates.
I've also tried to load the blocks from design center to the new palette, no success!
I've checked to make sure tool palettes are saving to the right file....

I created a file with all the blocks that I use of horn/strobes and strobes only for fire alarm systems and made a tool pallet. I've had to edit and tweak them until they fit my needs but now when I opened autocad my tool pallet was gone so I made another one but now my blocks are not the new revised blocks but the old ones. I double checked the path for the file and it's correct. When I open the file containing the blocks they look and behave like the blocks I revised.

2) Another tool palette question; a few of the blocks do not have an image on the palette, only the block name. They work just like the ones with images but a quick check of the properties indicates no difference. Why no image?

in particular i'm referring to the pallets on the right hand side. but whenever i put them like that, and close psp next time i open it it looks like this

so every time i launch psp, literally every time i have to move the pallets around. then sometimes, if i drag in a large image it does this:

When I open a Threshold layer (or any other Adjustment layer), CS4 opens an Adjustment Layers pallet (or Tab Group or whatever it's called) and leaves it there, even if I delete the Threshold layer. To get rid of the Tab Group, I have to manually close it. That's annoying.
CS3 let me add a Threshold layer (or any other Adjustment layer) without opening the Adjustment Layers pallet.
Is there a place I can click in CS4 to tell it to not open the Adjustment Layers pallet whenever I add an Adjustment layer?
I have a problem in Autocad2011model space when I drag blocks from the tool palette they disappear. The block initially appears when I grab it and drag it across the model space. Then when I go to insert it in position on the drawing as per normal it then vanishes. If I insert the same blocks using the 'insert block' method the blocks insert normally.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently creating templates for my drawings in order to standardise their use which includes the creation of templates, multileader styles, text styles etc... and placing them in custom tool palettes. I am also looking to add standard blocks such as fasteners and steel sections to my tool palettes however this has thrown a bit of a curveball. Basically I want all the blocks that I place in the tool palettes to move with the .dwt file I have created. At the moment it would appear that the source of the block is within the filing structure of the computer as apposed to just the template file it is placed in. Is there anyway to resolve this, or have the blocks so that they are stored within the template so that if the template is moved onto say a stand alone laptop elsewhere the blocks that appear in the tool palettes would go with the dwt file?
