View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a linetype that is a drain line so it's dashed and has a "D" within it along with an arrow pointing in the direction of flow. The drawing I have contains many of these lines ehich display properly in the viewport meaning you can see the dashes, D's and arrows.
Problem is, I got an as-built from a contractor as pasted it into my drawing. His lines look fine in my model space, but in my viewport the lines appear solid and you don't see the dashes, D's or arrows. I tried MATCHPROP to make the contractors lines match my existing lines but that did not work. I tried andjusting the linetype scale but that doesn't work either.
How can I prevent the Getting Media dialog appearing, I have left Organiser running for hours and it never disappears. The Stop button does nothing. It is not possible to to close the program without Ctrl Alt Del.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have PSE 10 and I recently decided to start some shooting in RAW. However, when I open my photos( I have a Canon Rebel T2i so the file extension is .CR2), it says, "processing Camera RAW file" and then opens the photo in the full edit mode instead of the Camera RAW dialog box. I checked my plug-in, and I have version 6.7 of the Camera RAW plug in. I'd really like to start working with Camera RAW! Oh, and I am working abroad for a couple months and do not have my installation disks with me, so uninstalling and re-installing PSE is not an option.
View 12 Replies View RelatedTypically when setting up a viewport in paper space I can change the viewport type at the bottom of the properties dialog box. In 2013 the option is available, but it will always snap back to undefined. I'm sure it is a setting somewhere.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I copy a viewport in a layout it does not create another viewport, only a poly line.....
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do I change a polygonal viewport to a rectangular viewport?
View 5 Replies View RelatedProblem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.
Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.
It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.
Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.
I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wanting to insert a second viewport over an existing viewport and have the information in the existing viewport behind the second viewport and not seen. I want the second viewport boundary to be the "trimming" edge of the existing viewport. How do I do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a test drawing with 4 viewports in paperspace.I frozen a layer in each viewport (as a viewport override, not global), and wrote code to gather info on layer overrides in viewports. The function takes in a database, and is generally used on drawings only open in memory:
public static bool GetLayerInfoFromDB2(Database db) { //do viewports on layoutstry {using (Transaction tr = db. Transaction Manager. Start Transaction()) { ObjectId ldid = db.LayoutDictionaryId;DBDictionary ld = (DBDictionary)tr.GetObject(ldid,
[code]....
the odd thing is it never finds the frozen viewports on the first viewport. It catches the others fine.I cannot see anything odd either, the counts of viewports and layers are all correct, and the drawing has no problems. Is there something that must be done to initialize the mechanism that reads viewport overrides?
how do you create a viewport within an existing viewport ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOne of my co-workers had an issue with a drawing, and she had a PDF file XREF'd into model space on a layer called "XREF", and she had created a viewport in paperspace and you could see that the PDF file was there. However, when you plot it, the PDF does not plot. The layer is on, and is not frozen in the viewport, and is also a plottable layer, so techicially, there should be no reason why it shouldn't appear when plotted.
The only way I could get the PDF to plot, was to remove it from model space and place it in paper space, and then I could get it to plot out. The reason for placing it in model space to begin with is so we could create a polygonal viewport and not be limited to just the rectangular shape of the PDF page. Also, with the PDF in paperspace, we can't XCLIP it and are limited to just reducing or enlarging the PDF page, which in this instance was an 8-1/2 x 11 landscape page.
Why the PDF does not plot on paper when XREF'd into modelspace but it plots out fine when the PDF is in paperspace?
I'm trying to get connection to WMS; however after the connection is made, I don't get any layers in my list.
I've been trying many times, and the same result.
The situation is that the original Imagery were in LL84 and the provider transferred them to local CRS; since then I don't get any layers to view! Though I was able to see them before the transformation has made.
AutoCAD 2012 is loaded on my office machine with WIndows 7 64 bit. I have downloaded the correct vba module and installed. After writing a simple program with two texboxes for user input and a calculation button with an answer box. When running, the cursor appears in the textbox but neither textbox will accept input from the keyboard and the cursor does not move nor does the tab key work even with it set in the program. Pressing the calculate button and a zero appears. In the toolbox I have added the AcFocusCtrl control, still no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedArchitectural logo has inserted as OLE object in the title block, we called this title block as x-ref and inserted the title block in paper space (layout). Now when we convert into pdf the drawing the OLE object logo is not appearing and the other coponents are appearing.
what could be the reason, for PDF conversion i am using DWG to PDF.pc3
When we convert same logo as a pdf overlay in CAD by using same .pc3 file it is working fine.
I am using AutoCAD 2011.
A drawing was downloaded from an Architect's ftp site and placed in a directory. Drawing opened in an Autocad LT workstation displayed all layers from Architects drawing correctly.
Drawing opened in an Autocad 2012 workstation from same server location did not display all the layers. All layers were "on" & "thawed". Tried to copy into drawing but certain layers did not appear again.
Work with many different Architects over the years and this a first. opening same drawing from server.
I was making a drawing and i don't know what i did but now anything i draw is not visible on screen although it is actually there because i can select it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI xref’d a plan into a compiled drawing and added notes in the compiled drawing’s model space. The xref’d plan contains an image. When adding the notes in the compiled drawing, I turn the layer off on the xref that contains the image so that I can see the text clearer. When I turn the image layer on, the notes are there, but 2 things are happening: (1) I cannot select the xref for some reason, and (2) the text disappears in the viewport when I switch to paper space.
I am using Autocad Architecture 2009.
why this difference in weight is appearing? Obviously i probably did something wrong. But what?
Inventor Version: 2014 SP1
Config : Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU E5506 @ 2.13 GHz, 24 GB, 64bit win7
Points began showing up in my xref'd file. When I click them, they select the xref, so they are objects and not artifacts. I can XLIST the points in the xref and turn on/off those layers but in the base file, these points do not exist anywhere.
This is the only article I could find on the mystery dots: [URL]
I tried the solution to COPYBASE, delete all, and purge, but they persist. It is happening on at least two layers.
Typically when I add FDO layers they automatically appear in paper space but in a handful of drawings this is not working . Since FDO layers do not appear in the Layers Pane (command LA), I am unsure of where else to check.
View 1 Replies View RelatedURL....When experimenting I found out that the materials are displayed in the browser but don´t appear any more when a parameter is changed. The browser still displays them right but I need to change them and apply them to get Inventor to display them again. I´ve attached two screenshots to show you the material is still assigned.
The assets have been authored with a german Inventor version and opened in a English language pack version. Changing the target language and replacing the English library had no effect at all.
I will be forced to open EVERY Asset and change ALL the materials with German names to their English counterpart. Including colour styles I apply by ilogic.
I was working on max using the hair a fur modifery to try and test out something when I noticed somethign strange. When I right clicked in the view port to bring up the options (exsample cut, convert to polygon, hide, fezze ect.) it wouldn't come up. Hears what I've tried. Reinstal max, get a copy of the default interface from a school computer and tried loading that, turning off windows 7 's background color transparancy, removing all things installed right before the problem, run a system check for errors, a viruse scan and right now I'm trying a full restore from a back up. I don't know what's going on. I suspected that my graphic's card drive might be the caulprate but I checked that as well and it says that its all clear. I took the files that had the problem to other computers and they had no issue. It doesn't matter what file I load either this is universal. I can start with a blank file and the right click view port menue won't come up.
Detailed discription:
Launch 3ds max. Go to any view port upon launch. Right click in view port and no menue comes up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to batch plot from Autocad 2009, using pdf 995, the save as dialog box does not open. I do not print in background, The drawings all process correctly. When it comes to the end nothing happens. I have <publishcollate> set at <1>
It worked once or twice a while back. I cannot get to the root of the problem.
The same happens with the plot to dwg standard plot on cad.
The only way I can do a successful batch plot is if I set the file location on the plot to dwg prior to print.
However, the plot to dwg does not plot our firms titleblock correctly.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD 08. I have been noticing that when I create a Multi-page PDF by creating a New Sheet Set. That some of the Items(Text, Numbers or Lines) in Paper Space are not appearing on the page that they should but instead appearing on the next page. In the location where it should be on the previous page. Is there a way to fix this bleed through or is there a better way to create a Multi-Page PDF other than what I have been doing?
