View 3 RepliesWhen I insert text with either the TEXT command or MTEXT command, the text is displayed mirrored. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the MIRRTEXT variable because that is used when I'm actually mirroring the text. In my case, the text is mirrored as soon as I insert it. How can I get it back to normal? Is there a variable I'm missing?
I'm using AutoCAD LT 2012 .
I have the problem that the text in text boxes and measurements are displayed wrong. They are somehow mirrored. I tried to many settings but still it didn't changed. To show the problem better I added a picture of the problem.
I use Autocad 2013 on a 64 Bit Win 7 Professional SP1.
Using the same template Text and Dimension style all of the sudden the text is vertical and mirrored and the dimension text is mirrored under the dim line ( above the dim line in normal conditions)
What could be the problem? I did not change anything in the settings, voluntarily, I use this template for years and never had a problem with it till now.
See the bubbled text in the attached PDF.
Same drawing (attached) with identical settings printed on one PC using DWG to PDF - creates this:
on another PC this:
So, some angle and aligned length dimensions are mirrored.
PDF previewed with Adobe Reader and Foxit PDF reader.
File is created and printed in 2010 LT, hence no UCS rotation, text style and print settings unaltered.
I am using the Enhanced Custom Grid in Architecture 2014. Everything is right about the grid except that the text inside the bubbles is mirrored. I am looking at the plan view (not the bottom) and my UCS is square to the world so I'm not sure what's going on.

Is there likely something wrong with my linetype definitions or is that normal behavior with civil 3d pipes?
I need to start doing shaped glass drawings for our new glass supplier who insists everything is viewed from outside. Unfortunately all our drawings are viewed from inside and I don't want my team to be responsible for copying and flipping glass details in case they forget to flip one day.
I can obviously mirror the viewport view by clicking View/Views/Bottom but this is also mirroring any text dimensions, even though my Mirrtext preference is set to 0.
Is there a way to set a dimension style where the text is automatically back to front so it will then appear the right way round in that particular viewport. How to get round this problem without duplicating parts that can then get missed at a later date and not amended?
This needs to work in both AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD LT 2014 as we run a mixture in our office.
I want to flip the text, like in the image. Are there any posibilities to do so? The text that is down is the mirror of the text that is up. I've tried to mirror the text, that is down, but no result...
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen creating text in model space it appears both mirrored and rotated 90 degrees to the horizontal. However, when I create text in paper space it is fine. I have tried looking at the properties for the text but although I can find a place to rotate the text back to the horizontal it is still mirrored and therefore unreadable.
When I copy paste stuff from one document to another this also occurs.
Im having issues when plotting a PDF. Im plotting using the DWG to PDF.pc3. The text in the CAD file looks awesome, clean and crisp. When I send it out to a PDF and I cant read the text. Its being plotted at custom paper size - 72x72 as requested. A PDF is attached.

When we print a full size drawing and scale it to fit to a Ledger Sheet, the text became very hard to read. Changing layers, linetype scale, and even fonts don't work. It still prints at the same.

One of the layers is in red, but when I plot the file, all the lines are red (which is OK) and the text is black... what am I supposed to do to keep the text in red?
The same happens when I export the CAD file to PDF.
I am currently running map 3d 2012 and my co-worker is running 2013. When she plots in paperspace, there is text that gets plotted that is outside of her viewport. When I open up the drawing on my computer, it plots perfectly. I attached a clip of it, the thick black is our drawing border, the viewport is where the color stops.

My question is the logos in the title block are hand drawn dwg logos. My client does not like the pdf file because the ITC logo text changes color and looks grainy or washed out. It is not crisp and clean. This is VERY IMPORTANT to him. Why do they change so as in the colors of the ITC logo change to a light blue not the 178 I set it at in AutoCad. when I plot a pdf the file. When plotting I use the DWG to PDF option.
I am using Civil 3D 2011 because of a contract. Monday I created the View Frames and cut the sheets. As of this morning everything was printing properly. Over the day I added alignment labels to the sheets and other call outs, and now the Match Line text is not printing.
I have moved the match line object to the top of the drawing order, double checked the layer to verify that it is not set to no plot, and verified that the xref with the match line is on the top of the drawing order.
Attached is a screen capture of the corner PDF I plotted.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2013 and at the moment i am just using the dwg to pdf.pc3 included in AutoCAD.
All of the text in my drawings is the same font (ISOCPAUS). Up until about a week ago, i could plot bold & italic text using the dwg to pdf plotter. Now, I cannot and i don't know what has changed to make this happen. Underlined and overlined text still plots fine to pdf. Everything appears correct in model space, paper space layouts, in previews and if i plot to any of the printers in the office, but once i plot to pdf, the bold and italic is gone.
When Im in model mode mode I create txt to annotate my diamentions, when I sent up my page in paper mode and plot it to a pdf, all the text ive created in model mode appears on the pdf as outlined text ( hollow ).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just loaded AutoCAD 2012 on Friday and have noticed that when I use annotative text or mtext in paper space when printing or previewing the text it rotates 90 degrees to vertical, but is horizontal in the drawing. Only does this with annotative text or mtext, non annotative text and mtext remains horizontal when previewing or printing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow to configure autocad 2008 to treat the .SHX fonts as "text" and not as "graphics" when plotting in PDF?
Using the plotter configuration editor, you can treat True Type fonts as "text" or "graphics". How about .shx fonts? My goal is to plot drawings (containing .shx fonts) in PDF whose text are content readable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created a drawing in model space, added text in paper space. When I go to plot the drawing the text is rotated 90 degrees instead of staying oriented the way I added it. There must be some setting that I am missing somewhere!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to plot a drawing with a 3d shape and a title block around it. I would like for the occluded lines to not be drawn therefore I'm using the hidden visual style and set shade plot to hidden as well.
My problem arises from the quality of the plot to PDF versus the quality coming out of a printer. It is just a 8.5x11 page. The pdf comes out with horrible anti-aliasing and jagged lines, whereas the print is entirely smooth. Is there something simple I'm missing? It would be even better to find a way to make the plot to PDF come out in vector format! I know it is possible to show the layers and have them vectorized in a PDF... How is this done?
User insert a block . then rotate it (Say 45 degress) . then mirror it.
Now My program read that block properties ( Rotation ) and try to replace that with another block .
But becuase the original one is mirrored. you know what happens !.
So I have to know whether the original block is mirrored or not. Then if yes I mirror the inserted one by program as well
For our bespoke AutoCAD plugin we can not use mirrored blocks or those with extrusions.
I know I can find mirrored blocks by quick selecting scales of less than 0, is there a similar way to select blocks with a negative extrusion?
Even better would be a process (LisP?) to select all the blocks that are mirrored or have negative extrusions.
Any way to get a scale bar/title block text to reflect plotting at half size?
We use the common (24x36) sheet size for all projects, but when plotting we send out half size (12x18) as well. This means the scale bar reading 1"=40' is no longer correct. It should read 1"=20'. I would like to automate this.
We use a table with an inserted jpeg image (company logo) as our title block. Everything works fine when you start a new drawing, however, when one tries to insert the template into an existing drawing or thru a new layout, the table that is our title block comes in mirrored with the rows and columns all out of whack.
