I have the problem that the text in text boxes and measurements are displayed wrong. They are somehow mirrored. I tried to many settings but still it didn't changed. To show the problem better I added a picture of the problem.
I use Autocad 2013 on a 64 Bit Win 7 Professional SP1.
When I insert text with either the TEXT command or MTEXT command, the text is displayed mirrored. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the MIRRTEXT variable because that is used when I'm actually mirroring the text. In my case, the text is mirrored as soon as I insert it. How can I get it back to normal? Is there a variable I'm missing?
I'm using AutoCAD LT 2012 .
Using the same template Text and Dimension style all of the sudden the text is vertical and mirrored and the dimension text is mirrored under the dim line ( above the dim line in normal conditions)
What could be the problem? I did not change anything in the settings, voluntarily, I use this template for years and never had a problem with it till now.

So, some angle and aligned length dimensions are mirrored.
PDF previewed with Adobe Reader and Foxit PDF reader.
File is created and printed in 2010 LT, hence no UCS rotation, text style and print settings unaltered.
We are using an iFilter that reads DWG files but it only seems to get text displayed in a TrueType font. Can you reccommend an iFilter that reads/indexes/catalogs all the text on a DWG file no matter the font?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up pipe styles that have a linetype with text in them. For example ------SFM------. They work fine for straight pipes. However on a curved pipe the text goes all funky. Not only is the text backwards it is also mirrored.
Is there likely something wrong with my linetype definitions or is that normal behavior with civil 3d pipes?
I need to start doing shaped glass drawings for our new glass supplier who insists everything is viewed from outside. Unfortunately all our drawings are viewed from inside and I don't want my team to be responsible for copying and flipping glass details in case they forget to flip one day.
I can obviously mirror the viewport view by clicking View/Views/Bottom but this is also mirroring any text dimensions, even though my Mirrtext preference is set to 0.
Is there a way to set a dimension style where the text is automatically back to front so it will then appear the right way round in that particular viewport. How to get round this problem without duplicating parts that can then get missed at a later date and not amended?
This needs to work in both AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD LT 2014 as we run a mixture in our office.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with Autocad 2011 and I have a problem with the geometry display. The block I created was a dynamic block of a concrete nail we use in surveying. The circle is created with two lines crisscrossing each other so as to create 4 quadrants within it. I also created it with visibility states and a lookup parameter for scaling to the appropriate size according to the drawing scale. The visibility state is for "Found state" and a "Placed state". For the found state 2 of the 4 quadrants are filled in(using a hatch pattern) and for the placed state all 4 quadrants are cleared. What is happening is the hatch pattern is changing to different quadrants of the circle depending on what scale you chose from the lookup scale list.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen creating text in model space it appears both mirrored and rotated 90 degrees to the horizontal. However, when I create text in paper space it is fine. I have tried looking at the properties for the text but although I can find a place to rotate the text back to the horizontal it is still mirrored and therefore unreadable.
When I copy paste stuff from one document to another this also occurs.
It is about mirroring text.I have MTEXT , so I want my text to be displayed by the mirror line but not to be mirrored itself so it can be readable. Imagine two twin buildings ,exactly the same but mirrored. I have one of them done , but not the other one. And they are huge. So when I try to mirror everything at the same time the text is going on its proper place but it's not readable cause it's mirrored. I know that there is an option this text to be only displayed , I've done this before , but I don't remember on which version. Now I'm using AutoCAD 2004.

You can compare the pictures: two different files with absolutely identical text settings... And, when I try to choose between text styles in text properties it says "The current style has been modified..." although I did not! I think both things are related some how...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add text to a background for a poster with a photo. I can add type to the photo but when I type in the white background I only see a line that expands with each letter as I type but no text is visible. However in the layer panel the text is visible.

User insert a block . then rotate it (Say 45 degress) . then mirror it.
Now My program read that block properties ( Rotation ) and try to replace that with another block .
But becuase the original one is mirrored. you know what happens !.
So I have to know whether the original block is mirrored or not. Then if yes I mirror the inserted one by program as well
For our bespoke AutoCAD plugin we can not use mirrored blocks or those with extrusions.
I know I can find mirrored blocks by quick selecting scales of less than 0, is there a similar way to select blocks with a negative extrusion?
Even better would be a process (LisP?) to select all the blocks that are mirrored or have negative extrusions.
I have an ipt A and its dwg. I have an ipt B that is the derivative and mirrored ( I use derive command whit flag on mirror part) component from ipt A.

I have tried making a copy of the original parts drawing and then replacing the model that is referenced in the drawing but that just gets me a drawing with a bunch of pink dimensions and I have to drag all the dimension points to reattach them.
I have inv2014 , and im having a problem whenever i mirrored a part in assembly. A hidden dimension of a part always shows up after i mirrored it in assembly, and then i have to go to that part in assembly and turn off the visibility of that sketch/dim.

Some of the parts in the mirror image are truly mirror images of the corresponding parts in the original, while some don't need to be. However, I don't mind if all parts are mirrored. The thing I really want to achieve is to have the mirrored assembly UPDATE when the original changes. Is this possible?
My alternative is to delete, re-mirror the original, and re-constrain each time I change the original. That seems sub-optimal.

Im using Inventor 2011. I mirrored an assembly contained 3 smaller assembly (each assembly had 6-7 parts).
I want to edit some parts in the new mirrored assembly, but I cant.
How can I edit the mirrored parts?
I was wondering if there is a way that a mirrored part can be redefined. Problem I have is that after renaming the parts in the assembly the mirror will no longer update and references the original part before being renamed. I can't seem to find a way to redefine this so my mirrored part will update. To date I have been deleteing out the mirrored parts and creating them again.

Have a look - if you change the anno scale to any scale you will see the blocks but change to 1:50 (the scale i want it at!) they shoot off to the left of the layout (outside the defpoint rectangle).
Mirroring a part or assembly in 2014 makes the derived part with all sketches visibility on, nevertheless the original sketches visibility is off.

I need to create such part by using Metal Sheet features from Inventor (2014). The problem is the final face..which can't be mirrored correctly and sure can't go with "flat pattern.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a sheet metal IPT that I saved, then did a saveas and saved as a different file name. I then took the part in the new IPT and did a mirror on the part. I chose the second "Mirror a Solid" option in the mirror dialog box, and clicked "Remove Original". Now that I'm at this part, when I try to make a flat patten of the new mirrored part, all I get are the bend and center lines of the part, not the internal and external lines that I can export for use in water/laser cutting.
I was wondering if I was doing something wrong in order to make this work. In looking through the forums I have seen people say not to use the mirror command in an assembly and create a derived part because that has issues, but I did this in an IPT, not an IAM. I have also read to make sure that the Sheet Metal Defaults are set the same, but I believe that they are talking about the derived part from an IAM drawing. All the same, I have checked my Sheet Metal Defaults and they are all the same, and in fact I tried updating them to see if it would still change the part, and it did. I was able to make my part other thicknesses and it updates the part as per the norm.
I am using Inventor 2013 Professional, if it matters at all. I have also attached a couple of picture files showing the part folded and how it looks to me when I go to the flat pattern.
I re-opened a drawing this morning and found some text to be different height from the rest. When I attempted to adjust all of the heights to be the same using the properties method, they all became bigger. Instead of all of them going to 6", the 5" text went to 6" and the 6" text went to 7-3/16". So, I checked the formatting size and the properties size and they did not match. See PDF.

I have a drawing which has hundreds of levels on and i'm trying to establish what the MEAN level is and the AVERAGE level. I thought the best way might be to extract the text to excel and perform it there but at the moment the only way i can do it is to copy and paste the text and its taking me forever. Is there a way to either a) extract text to excel or b) calculate a MEAN value based on texted selected?
