I am looking for samples of drawings that can be copied and adjusted to fit in my drawing. In particular I need a cross section of a roof terrace for a London house. Idea is that we are building a Juliette balcony out of a dormer window and want to see precisely how the resulting flat roof should be constructed.

They included a drawing for Home Space PLanning, Landscaping, etc. where these files or blocks are found in 2013? I want to use some of the sample blocks that I had access to in older versions of AutoCAD.

The reason why I ask this is for lower draftsman Who should not be changing anything in the drawing. The people above me want to create drawings with all the sheets setup on layout tabs in One drawing.

Why does my hatch pattern look different on sample in the hatch window and on the actual drawing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue that cropped up as of late - I try to create a virtual copy of a photo, but instead of the normal page-turn icon in the bottom left and it auto-expanding to show the copies, it just creates a stack, and says "2" or "1 of 2" and the double line bars on both sides of the preview in Grid Mode. Is there a setting that I changed that caused that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to work out how to generate a whole lot of smaller drawings from a bigger drawing, automatically through Scripting and Lisp programming. Each of these smaller drawings would be based on a rough 20 metre buffer of the property boundaries inside it. Each drawing created would preferably be the expression of the House number + Street name, which are in each property boundary parcel as object data. What I have been doing in the past is attaching and querying the required drawing one by one but this takes a while and we are about to get a whole shed load more to be done.

My goal is this: I'm trying to figure out how to copy the contents of all drawings in the same directory into a single dwg file. What subsets of the AutoCAD API should I use to do so?
I have 10 separate drawing files that I want to combine into one drawing and I want each drawing to be on a separate layout.I want to end up with one drawing with 10 layout tabs each containing the graphics from one drawing.Each drawing has one layout with the graphics on it.No fancy paper space / model space stuff.No viewport scaling.
I thought this could be done via Design Center but I've never used that.
I've got a persisitant problem with the publishing feature in autocad. I know how to set up bulk print of drawings using publish.
However the drawings are a mixed lot (some in paper some in layout). Is there a way to determine the state of the drawing without opening each one. In my case there is thousands of drawings and of course i do not have the manpower to inspect each one.
I'm trying to use grid and snap to draw some piping with a certain spacing. However, the grids' position isn't exactly where I want it. I can't reposition the xref to make it fit either since its position is agreed upon by all project contributors. Can the grid position be adjusted in any way?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the following string of code, that I'll write in everyone's start-up suite. I'm able to retrieve a list of files I want to modify, for whatever reason. (One example, when plotting drawings with layouts, sometimes the shadeplot setting is wireframe, and not classic hidden, though it's been set up in our templates).
The huge question is, can I get a list of drawings to a variable in one drawing, and have access to that variable list, in the next drawing I open? I'll iron out the bugs on read-only statuses, or manipulating drawing states later.

How do I show detailed drawings of all weldments onto one drawing sheet? I have created a weldment assembly of various pipes attached together and would like to create shop drawings. Please see attached picture for model tree. I can't seem to bring in seperate views of each of the pipes on the same drawing sheet for proper detailing. Do I have to do something before making the assembly or afterwards to get those views?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a full set of water drawing that need to be submitted to the City’s Water Department. We have to include DWF and DWG drawings on a CDRom, but that is easy. The issue is that there is a stand-alone submittal set. Now, this is not hard to do with Sheet Set Manager; that is not the problem. The problem is that the Water Department has a special set of layers that they want any Civil to use for submittal. These layers are of course different from the NCS we are using now and in our CD submittal set.
Is there a better way than to insert or bind the drawings to a special set of drawings and then change the names? I would most likely use either the “rename” command or the “layer translator” function in Civil 3D 2012. However, if I ever had a revision that affects the base drawing and the CD set; I would have to re do all this binging/inserting and renaming over as well.
I want to create some modules for a platform deck. The modules are made of C5x6.7 channels in one direction, L2x2x3/16 angle stiffeners in the other direction, and 3/16" deck plate on top.
My "drivable" parameters will be length and width.
The modules will all be different sizes, so I need to be able to have every instance of the assembly be different.
The workflow I was attempting to do before I got stuck was this:
1. Create a skeleton part (just a sketch) with Length and Width parameters.
2. Insert in an assembly and use frame generator to build the structural shapes (channels and angles)
3. Insert another part (the 3/16" plate) that can reference the length and width and adjust to be the correct module size.
Is there a way to make parts in an assembly all follow the same parameters? More importantly, can each instance of this assembly show up differently and be adjustable when I place these modules in my main assembly?
I don't know much about iParts - but it looks like an iPart lets you choose from predefined dimensions - I want something that I can custom input any size I need.
QT : 1 . I am looking for a script to move the drawing such that the left bottom corner is placed at 0,0 without any manual intervension. This is to done for all the files in a particular folder.
QT : 2 In the same script file I want one block to be inserted also in each drawing. the block is placed in the network drive . so how to copy the path after putting the insert command. I tried -insert; but it is not working how can i give the path in script file.
I do a lot of work where I start with a full assembly drawing, then make more drawings for the individual parts. Is there a way to link the title block parameters in the part drawings to the title block in the full assembly drawing? The only way I found was to link the parts together and then grab the info for the drawings off of the parts, but if I'm implementing this in a template used by others I want them to still be able to just fill in the blank on the assembly drawing to make it work.
I was able to get iProperties to show parameter buttons, but I haven't seen any way to link to other files or anything like that.
When a Basic Tolerance is used to dimension - can the size of the containing box be adjusted?
I understand this is set as a percentage of the text size - where is this value & can it be edited?
When I copy a dynamic block, and then adjust one of the copies or the original, the other copies often get messed up/destroyed--odd shifts in the handles, lines moving out of kilter, etc.
Perhaps the following is the cause of the problem: when I copy a dynamic block, Autocad does not give the copy an original Anonymous Name. So I am left with a bunch of blocks with the same Anonymous Name. Perhaps this confuses Autocad.
I have bought an Easycap capture device and it is installed properly. However when I try to capture video from VHS I get the message "The sample start time is after the sample end time"

(This became an issue after I 'upgraded' to the latest version, are they trying to get me over on CC by introducing more and more bugs to cs6?
Why do adjusted photos lose all their adjustments when moved to a final composite looking like the original ,jpg or worse? What's the secret here?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI know this is gonna be hard to believe after 4+ versions of LR, but, I just tried slideshow on the 4.4 RC and the timing issue which has been the bain of the slideshow module seems to have been adjusted. I have just tried 6-7 different slide shows, added music of various lengths, changed the fade durations, changed the type of music, source of music, and greatly varied lengths of music and it has actually worked in a manner that would be acceptable to view with a client in a face to face presentation. This includes using an intro and exit screen. I am using a mac with SnowLeopard. I will try this on a PC with Windows 7 Professional later today. You still can only use one soundtrack and make sure the sound track does not start or stop too abruptly, but what a big difference! I could not get it to mess up regardless of changes I made.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI like using Bridge to import my photos but also like to use LR5. After I organize and edit in camera raw I want to import (ADD) the adjusted photos into LR5. Problem is the adjustments dont import into LR. The original raw DNG is imported without the fixing that I did.
