AutoCad :: How To Select Entities With Window Or Crossing Polygon
Jun 23, 2011When trying to select entities with a window or crossing polygon (and hitting enter) there are no grips showing to indicate that the selection has been completed even though the entities seem to be highlighted. Syntax: select, enter, wp, enter (draw polygon), enter.
I am a part time user of this wonderful program and only recently moved to 2010 and yet I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I have Googled and looked in my texts and still am having difficulty (also attempted to search FAQ on this site but the link malfunctioned).

Aug 12, 2011in order to get a head start on my next class, I bought the book: Introducing Maya 2011 by Dariush Derakhshani and have been following along with the tutorial projects within.
The issue I am having is probably a silly noob thing, but I can't get the selection handles (for polygon faces) to show up on a simple polygon sphere. I can see the handles on the corners of individual faces, but not the ones that are supposedly in the center of each face.
I have tried going to Display > Transform Display > Selection Handles but nothing happens. I have tried this while selecting the sphere with options under both "Select by Object Type" and "Select by Component Type" with no results.
I am running Maya 2011 on a Macbook Pro on OSX.
Photoshop :: Polygon Lasso Tool Closes Selection At Random?
Nov 5, 2013Here’s the problem: Polygon Lasso decides to close the selection FOR NO REASON AT RANDOM.
Let me clarify that I am an advanced Photoshop user (certified expert by Adobe). I know all Photoshop tools inside and out and this is DEFINITELY not user error. Photoshop CC is glitching and it needs to be fixed. Thing is, this only started for me very recently; within the last few weeks. (Kinda close to when I updated to Mavericks on my mac but I’m not sure that has anything to do with it)
To re-iterate, this is NOT a double-clicking issue or anything done wrong by me. Making lots of small lassos joined by the shift key is also NOT a solution. Switching to the pen tool is also NOT a solution because my workflow depends on the speed of the lasso tool.

AutoCad :: Selection Window In Layouts?
Mar 14, 2012when I use the selection with the mouse, I can clearly see in model space the borders of the window I create. But when I switch to Layouts, it's invisible. I can still use it, but it's annoying not seeing the window selection. I've tried with OPTIONS-SELECTION and DISPLAY tabs to adjust it and it didn't work.

AutoCad :: No Selection Window Appearing On Left Click
Dec 20, 2011By default when we left click in AutoCAD and move the mouse, a selection window appears. Something went wrong in my system and now if I left click no selection window is appearing. For selection window to appear I have to drag the mouse instead of just moving it (which is the normal behavior).

Apr 19, 2012The “window selection” selects only what appears on the screen! I wanted to select a page number located on the lower left corner of each title block of each drawing but found out that the “window selection” doesn’t keep selecting what doesn’t appear on the screen (if zoom in is applied)! For example, if I select a number of drawings and “zoom in” is applied then the window selection will only keep selecting what appears only on the screen!
Then how to let the “window selection” keep selecting all the objects regarding whether they appear on the screen or not?

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Window Selection Of Attributes
Oct 16, 2012I downloaded a lisp routine that will align block attributes. The problem is I can only select the attributes one at a time. I'd like to be able select multiple attributes using the selection window or a crossing window, but I haven't had much luck. If you use the AEATTSHOW command, it give you a prompt to "select using window" by pressing W. I'd like to have the same functionality for my Align attributes routine.
Below is the portion of code I currently have to select attributes one at a time:

Nov 27, 2013The problem is that if one has defined a selected area in an image, using either selection by color or contiguous selection using the 'magic wand' facility, is possible to copy this selection to the Image Map facility of the image, so as to automatically define a set of coordinates as a polygon that can be used for link purposes? Perhaps there is some interim step that is required, or perhaps a special script is required?

Brush tip shape section on the brush panel shows the brush tips for the selected set of the brush presets ... at the end of the list there are some brush tips (they are changing with the selected set) and they are not included in the selected set of brush presets. Where are those additional brush tips are coming from?
For example ... for calligraphic brushes, at the top I can see the tips for the set of calligraphic brushes in the window ... but, there are some other brush tips there at the bottom (red lined). Where are they coming from?

Sep 9, 2013The newest version of Gimp no longer maintains the marching ants for the selection window when you select an image that is on a transparent layer (my observation). It seems to only select the (smaller) image(s) that are contained therein; the selection is restricted to the outline of the image only. I am trying to maintain proper spacing etc. and the marching ants selection window was wonderful for that.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Multiple Grip Selection Not Working When Pan Or Zoom During Selection
Jul 12, 2011When I select a hatch or polyline or any object with grips for that matter, and hold down shift to select multiple grips on the object or objects and then press my middle mouse button to pan or scroll it to zoom, the grips that I have selected de-select, meaning I have to set up the view so that all the grips I want to move are visible before selecting them.
This is only happening on some drawings (although it is most of them) and only when I use 2012 not 2011. Which system variable it is that has gone screwy that I need to reset? or is it something else?
