Is there a way to import a pdf file into ACAD? I have tried inserting an OLE image but I get an error "Failed to creat object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry."

I dunno why, but when it started to run a part fill analysis, Inventor prompted me that it ""Failed to create a new study file".
I tried restarting inventor and still, nothing happened. Moreover, i tried another file and it worked. How come for this part it didnt?

Basically I have 3dpolylines and some Splines. I would like to create a road file that uses the geometry of these objects to create a single line/crest of road file.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have centerline data from SHP file that I can either import or attach to. Has a few lines of object data with it including a centerline of road name. Each one unique. When I attach to the data, I can then "join" with it additional data from a database. When I select a line and look at the properties, it contains both the original object data AND the additional data from the database. SO far So good.
When I edit the style and try to add feature labels only part of the labels come in. I end up with a lot of them with only the letters "text" or just not there. If I right-click on the line and select "Show Data Table" I can confirm that there is data for that label. I find nothing in common with the map features that have labels, or don't have labels. Kind of random.
Question: If I import the SHP file and create object data I need to know if there is a way to "ADD" the rest of my data that is in the database to this object data. If so then I think I could define a Template and label each piece with the block with attributes. Is this possible? OR
Is it possible for me to export to a new SHP file after I have connected to the data (both shp file and database).
How to get this plugin to work with 2013? I keep getting the dialog saying: Failed to create CoilFeature... Try with a bigger Pitch Offset value.

1. Within the mtext box, right click and select "insert field"
2. Choose "linked"
3. Choose "Hyperlink"
4. Type in the web address in the box to allow autodesk to load the website
5. Choose "insert link"
6. Modified "text to display"
7. Exit text editor.
When I exit the text editor, the program crashes.
Starting a new Mold Design. When I try to place my part, I get an error message that says... "Errors occurred during create. Plastic part: Create Failed."
How do I determine what the problem is with my part I'm trying to bring in? This was a part that was brought in from a .step file, then saved it as a .ipt. No problems that I can see with the .ipt, but Inventor Mold does not like it for some reason.
Im trying to insert an image into 3Ds max. I selected my object I want it pasted onto, I then opened up my materials editor, under maps and then standard I selected Bitmap and selected my image. The image bitmap is showing up in the materials editor viewport but I cant apply it any objects (Assign material to selection icon is unavailable).

I have gone into the sub assemblies and tried to publish from them - 2 of them work 2 of them give the same error message.
I then went into their sub assemblies and was able to publish them (so that's 2 levels down now).
I have used rebuild all - working my way back to the top level assembly.
I have some sheet metal components in the various assemblies.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI create an IDW view of a subassembly by inserting the parent assembly, make it a non-associative view, then turn off visibility of unwanted subassemblies. When later working in the model and adding a part to one of the non-visable sub-assemblies, that part becomes visable in the IDW views in which the subassembly was non-visable, requiting me to edit all veiws in which the subassembly was non-visible. This can be quite a number of instances. Is there a way to prevent this?
I may have a more fundamental workflow problem: I create assemblies composed of subassemblies that need to be detailed sperately. I have found that in order to correctly create a structured BOM and to have the ballon lables to correspond to the structured BOM, I create the drawing views as described above. If I would just insert the subassembly to detail it, I don't understand how to get it to relate the balloon labels in the subassembly view to my master BOM.

Everything looks great AFTER the the crane shot is down moving up. :-/ (I used the 3D camera tracker.) The perspective on the object appears rather odd as the crane shot is moving up.

I want to insert hyperlinks to a file I have.
I use the command 'hyperlink' I select the object and the program crashes and is 'not responding'
Now the tricky is that this happens both in Autocad Map 2010 and 2013. And happens also in files I already have hyperlinks and new ones. If I run the software as an administrator in my pc, the command works excellent.
I insert hyperlinks in the files for many years and till now everything worked fine.

One of the values for Y is 0. And the block instead of showing on X,0 it shows at some X,Y value. If you need to see the csv file I can upload it.

We have a template file for all of our engineering drawings. When we receive the topo from our survey department we insert the topo (as a block) into our Eng. dwg. Our Survey dept just did their first topo using 2012 and survey figures. When we try to insert the dwg the system crashes. I can XML the surface into the drawing, but I don't get the line work.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble inserting a JPEG image in Inventor 2011 LT drawing (DWG) file. The Image button on Insert panel under Manage tab is always disabled. I am able to bring in the image using Insert Object feature and selecting 'create from file' option. Although the resulting image looks OK on the screen, it looks inverted and distorted when printed.
I am facing the same problem when I try to insert image in a dwg sketch, however, the process works as expected on part sketches.
I created an attribute of a title block, our company logo is inserted as a raster image within the attribute, I created this dwg file into a dwt file (template) however every time I open a new drawing and insert in the template file in the paperspace tab the attribute comes in but always with the logo?
The frame of the logo shows up with the file path of where is is located.

When the map appears, it is the size of a postage stamp in relation to the existing buildings in the drawing.
Is this because the OS Survey map is drawn in meters when my drawing is in millimeters?
